  1. Agreed--they look very sweet.  But what are those weapons supposed to fire?  Lasers?  Particle Beams?  Plasma?  Something Else?

In the game, I think it had two fire modes... I'm hard pressed to remember anymore, but they were... uh... klingon disruptor style energy weapons, I think?

  2. WASP gas injection knife:

I've seen this knife. Very spy movie-ish, eh? Now put that down, Mr. Bond... supposedly there's one that shoots the blade out, but not sure of legality or even if it works worth a fart. =)

I've read about the KSG hand mutilation problems before. They look like a really cool and handy shotgun, but I would NOT use one without putting a very sturdy hand stop on it first.

I've heard of the handguard breaking with too narrow handles on the fore-end, but not mutilations... this is the keltec bullpup shotgun you're talking about?

  3. I finally found another semi-automatic box-magazine type magnum pistol!

This is the Wildey Magnum. The above model is chambered in .475 Wildey, but .44 Magnum and .45 Winchester Magnum models also exist.

This was in the.... 2nd Dirty Harry movie, wasn't it? Very neat. Good find! Very unique looking.

The Spectre M4. This is an Italian made submachine gun that uses an unusual magazine arrangement known as a "casket magazine". Unlike other firearms that use single stacked magazines (such as a Colt M1911) or double stacked magazines (such as a Beretta M9), the Spectre M4's magazine is quad stacked (!), allowing for a fifty round magazine capacity in a housing that's comparable to what, say, an H&K MP5 might use.

    ---

An Intratec Companion Derringer-type pistol. This model is chambered in .357 magnum, but a comparable model, the Intratec Tec-38 (seen below), is chambered in .38 Special.

I fairly keen on the design of these derringers. They've been out for a while, yet still look distinctly high-tech and "serious".

Can't say those guns look very high tech to me, but that's just my opinion. The derringers just look like cast barrels with injection molded grips. The castings look like cast iron, almost. The few intratec weapons I've ever handled were... ummm... they concerned me. If you're interested in high capacity magazines, these magazines from SureFire for AR15s are interesting. The Spectre looks interesting but kind of ugly. Would be curious to know how it actually works. Very compact looking, which is neat, and ugly can be very cool in some ways. =) Either way, nice finds. =)

  4. I left the Kell to msg, but apparently 2 People have managed to remove part of their support hand when they slipped, for whatever reason. I suspect the were trying to maximize the rate of fire...

With which one? I don't know what "Kell" is. Is that the russian one? I know the Rossie one in .410 has a blast shield to prevent damage from that area. =) I don't see evidence of one on the russian 255.

  5. The revolver shotgun is just begging to be chopped down to size.

I have a picture for that, but I couldn't ge the link to work. It looks pretty sweet when cut down like a classic cut-down.

Good game guns, I am not really a fan in the real world. For certain uses, okay, but pretty bulky.

Yeah, they just look cool, IMO. I'd purchase that sort of thing if it were cheap, like I would consider (if I weren't currently broke) buying that cheap winchest lever shotgun (like in Terminator 2) that someone is making just for giggles and neat factor, but probably not for too serious use. Though, frankly, the action and some of it's features do fascinate me.

However, the Crye Six12 fascinates me and if not idiotic in price, I may pick one up just because of it's ability to be mounted on a rifle and be civilian legal.

  6. I want one of these when it comes out. Plans are for a civilian version that can still be mounted underbarrel without being ridiculous thanks to its bullpup design. Can also be used as a stand-alone shotgun. All in one kit. Double action trigger is my only concern, depending on how they do the trigger. However, not a concern in a game! You can find this at six12.com

    By itself...

  7. Magic brick... hmmm...

    • Ritualized brick powers where spells and such are carved/inked onto his body. Individual abilities or groups of them activated by tapping into these symbols of his power. The idea being that his power has been limited and thus he had to transform them sort of thing to a more useable level. Limited use of each portion kind of thing. Thus, all the normal brick powers and more are possible, but only on a limited basis, making for more interesting play with some flavor. It doesn't have to be body stuff, it could be any conduit, really, to make this general idea work.
    • Elementals are always fun, so I like most of those ideas. Using the chinese flavor might be more fun for a change of pace. Also, if I remember correctly, another flavor includes "void" as an element to represent nothingness/emptiness, which might make for an interesting elemental type.
    • "Drawn" powers, or those deriving from taking power from other things might be interesting. Not necessarily just Drain or transfer powers, but just as a special effect. Taking on aspects of materials or spirits and the like are pretty fun.

    Just some thoughts. =)

  8. I can't see doing it, but I guess other people can do what they want.  Now the wood stock and forend for an AR 15...

S'long as it's still useable, I wouldn't say much about any of the many aesthetic choices. Its like anything... you like wood on your AR15, some might want a skull. I'd like mine with an underbarrel shotgun... =)

This is on the old side, not sure how to link the pics... so here's the link: http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2010/06/11/futuristic-weapon-design-by-pascal-eggert/

Y'know, to stay on topic. =)

  9. A: "I have the cooking skill. I want to make jelly beans."

B: "Ummm... okay. Do you have the ingredients?"

A: "What are jellybeans made of?"

C: "I thought I read somewhere gelatin was originally made from bone somehow. That's what jellybeans

         really are, right?"

B: "Okay, let's go with that. Do you have any bone?"

A: "No... but we just killed those elves."

B: "YOU'RE GOING TO HARVEST BONES FROM THE DEAD ELVES... TO MAKE JELLYBEANS?!"

    A: "Yeah. So?"

C: "These are going to be the evilest jellybeans."

A: "So, should they be black then?"

C: "Yes, as black as your little heart."

  10. That cane fighting video looks like two guys using chinese straight sword techniques with wood sticks. Some of the footwork and spinning like a tart reminded me of wushu stuff. *shrug* (I say this as a former practitioner of southern kung fu styles, so I have some bias... =)  )

Lots of classic stuff here. Some more ideas:

    • It helps him walk (sorry, had to)
    • Motion sensor in the cane, perhaps relaying information to him via the grip or a HUD in his glasses/contacts.
    • a simple spike, protuding from... well, anywhere. Perhaps more than one.
    • An actual grapple. Smallish spines extend from the end, curving as they come out, plenty of space for line in the shaft.
    • The ability to come apart with chain/line (monofilament, even) so that he could use the cane as a three-piece staff, nun-chuks, or even a kind of chain whip. One or more options, depending on what you like. With monofilament or wire, it adds another nuance as garrotte or otherwise. Maybe even a fishing pole. =) Oh, with the chain whip bit, if the handle is curved, it could be like the end of a scorpion tail, making it even more visually interesting. Even as a regular handle it would still be a hooked part at the end. Kind of neat. (now I'm gonna use this one...)
    • Partial high friction or frictionless section, thus his parries or or ripostes might be rather odd or disconcerting in its irregularity.
    • Have the handle (or other section, I suppose) be an incredibly strong magnet when he likes. Have said magnet interact with pieces on his body he could control, making it an interesting point of leverage or even grip. Depending on how fantastic you're going, maybe it can even achieve the whole lightsaber pull trick or various throwing gags.
    • Stuff it full of dynamite that he can throw out (or other explosive) of the end of it. hehe.
    • Use the classic single weapon splits into two halves bit (like those chinese swords).
    • This one is a bit out there, but have the cane actually be an extended piece of his arm like a cyber-implant weapon sort of thing, so he can retract it and thrust it out as he wishes.
    • It changes into an umbrella. (I know, the cleverness is overwhelming... /sarcasm)
    • I feel like there's another idea bouncing around in this noggin... but all that's coming out is that it has a companion cane that, when combined, allows you to summon the Power of Grayskull. *sigh*
    • Oh, a super suction cup sort of end. Makes it hard to get away from him, uses it to disarm or even apply a kind of hold or something. hehe.
    • Okay, kind of Penguin, but four or more of the sides split off and start whirling around the tip like plane propellers... allowing him to float and/or attack people with it.

I'll stop there before I get more ridiculous. I didn't get the impression you were looking for silly or out there, but some of those seem like decent ideas. Dunno. Hope that helps.

  11. Y'know, with this kind of stuff... I think people just like having some fun with their guns, and seems to me that's okay s'long as it doesn't interfere when it comes time to use 'em. I like the skull one, but I just keep thinking about how I'd paint it, so it's probably just a miniature hobbiest thing. =)

  12. Re: Cool Guns for your Games

Just came across a S&W Combat Magnum with a 4" barrel for $450. Gunsmith already safety checked it and its good. The rear sight seems a tad off, but more to the point... somebody chromed it. Decently, but its still chromed. *sigh* I'm still tempted to buy it. It has the numbered cylinder holes, recessed, ramped sight (missing the colored bit), the whole business otherwise. *sigh* Trigger seems good, otherwise everything seems to move right and all that... just... argh...
