Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster
Try rubbing it. ::ducks thrown objects::I think these posters miss a couple of points. Veterans are not forced to accept care from VA hospitals. And Veterans can still choose to go to a regular hospital/clinic/doctor.
Plus you have to ignore that series of stories on Walter Reed a couple of years ago. Wasn't the meme then that the VA hospitals were failing our veterans and providing inadequate care in filthy, third-world conditions?

Re: Order of the Stick
Good' date=' his player never chipped in for pizza anyways....[/quote']And V's player just drank the last Mountain Dew/Dr. Pepper/Beer that the GM had been saving.
While eating the last slice of pizza too.

Re: Order of the Stick
Agreed. Xykon has shown himself not to just be an a bad ass evil, but frighteningly self aware about his nature, and pretty damn insightful about others. Roy had it right, the lich is smarter than he looks. Among other things, Xykon knows the value of allies, as Redcloak's aid definitely puts this fight in favor of our undead baddie.I think one of the best quotes (and scenes in general) for Xykon is back in the Start of Darkness, when he says (during a fight):
but see, I've learned a lot over the years since I died. A lot more than I learned during my life. And now I see that planning doesn't matter. Strategy doesn't matter.Only two things matter: Force in as great a concentration as you can manage, and style. And in a pinch, style can slide.
Energy drain!
In any battle, there's always a level of force against which no tactics can succeed.
Xykon isn't stupid. He says that he doesn't care for tactics, or subtlety, or planning, and has no patience. But that's not the same thing as being stupid. He's just incredibly direct in his problem-solving methods, and tends to go with his first idea, trusting on his ability to concentrate force in order to ensure success.

Re: Order of the Stick
Ooh, that's just. . . evil. I love it.
A good way to get a decent person to do something horrible is to convince them that they're not responsible for their actions.

Re: Order of the Stick
Yeah. That's. Wow.That's going to affect the ecosystem...
My first thought was
How many XP was casting that worth?
The second thought was that V is, if not entirely turned to the dark side, certainly getting fitted for a black cloak and trying out different Sith names.
Darth Suvie does have kind of a ring to it, doesn't it?

Re: Order of the Stick
Seems Bugsby is responsible for a number of useful spells.Ah, but which is more useful - Bugsby's Flicking Finger, or Evan's Spiked Tentacles of Forced Intrusion?
I'd certainly never bother V in the morning. Or afternoon. Probably not until after dinner.

Re: Order of the Stick
Looks like the we might be seeing the right four words to the right being at the right time for all the wrong reasons pretty soon.

Re: Order of the Stick
New one is up...And I think it explains quite a bit about what's been bugging V lately.
Yep. And I think V is using the perfect mechanism for emptying his/her mind of all thought.

Re: Order of the Stick
#622 is up.
Go ahead and start a solo adventure. I'll be in to join the quest when I'm done eating.

Re: Order of the Stick
New one is up. I'd put a quote from it in a spoiler, but it's too busy to load. Instead, a question:
I wonder if Celia ever finished her law degree.

Re: Order of the Stick
#611 is up.
Wait, did I say "path"? I mean a five-lane blacktop highway with a two-lane service road. And I'm packin' a fist full of tokens and a radar detector.

Re: Order of the Stick
I feel real sorry for the thieves breaking in that door. They are in for the surprise of their (about to be much briefer) lives.

Re: Order of the Stick
Especially cool was the set-up. We were told back when he first showed up thatthe Cleric had prepared Remove Curse that day, and that he could use it to treat Belkar
. Rich really knows how to set his ducks in a row.
Can't wait to see what's next.
I especially liked the passcode for Remove Curse.

Re: Order of the Stick
610 is up.
And the sexy shoeless god of war is baaaack!

Re: Order of the Stick
609 is up.
Maybe #610 has Belkar to the rescue. Otherwise, we have two or three comics of Haley and Roy waiting for us.

Re: Order of the Stick
New one is up.
In order to make it in this world, I need to pretend to have character growth!

Re: Order of the Stick
After the new one, I was wondering
Celia can't be raised, and Hailey isn't planning on winning this fight, just delaying the inevitable. Anyone wondering if Celia isn't going to go back to the Nameless Cleric and tell him "Delay the sending. Unleash the self-named Sexy Shoeless God of War, so he can open a frost and long-delayed can of whup-a$$ on some rogues"?

Re: Order of the Stick
Looks like V's primary motivation is to find Haley; finding Roy is secondary.I think V's destination is to go completely 'round the bend, and start breaking the world in order to save it. Anyone else get the feeling that V is going to wind up committing some seriously evil acts in a couple comics?

Re: Order of the Stick
I'm beggining to wonder if V had a crush on either Haley or Roy. Or maybe V just takes friendships very seriously' date=' because he's getting more psychotic by the minute.[/quote']All work and no play makes V go crazy.

Re: Order of the Stick
"Gusts of Wind" just to tidy things up. I like that.
I think it was more to avoid someone coming along and undoing his/her hard work. I mean, why go through the trouble to cast that spell if someone can undo it, right?

Re: Order of the Stick
Now I'm curious where "Don't kill the cute critters!" Celia is...Situational ethics - somewhere along the line, "Don't kill the cute critters" became "So Belkar, you know how many ways to cook those?"

Re: Order of the Stick
Greater Animal Messenger - when you care enough to send 1/4 HD edible animals to a psychopath and a rogue with a penchant for bows.

Re: Order of the Stick
New one is up. You'd think that eventually someone would learn enough cross-class skills to speak to NPCs, instead of leaving it to Elan.
(And why do I keep hearing "It's not my fault. Really. It's not my fault." When did Elan's dialog start sounding like Harrison Ford?)

Re: Order of the Stick
Yay.
Thog is coming back. And the others, but Thog. Until Belkar began his repentant sinner shtick, I was hoping Belkar and Thog would switch teams.
