  1. The way that the Shapeshifter is designed is that the VPP can only be used for Multiform - therefore according to the rules the skills need to be bought again. While this can be explained in some forms for some skills (limited manipulation or communication organs) it is not pertinent for some forms. What is a fair ruling? I was thinking of putting a +1/2 advantage on the skills that can be used in the other form? Or maybe the character can use those skills but at the proficiency shown by the characters current form?...What do you think?

  2. One of my players has decided to create a shapshifting character. To this end he has given the base form a VPP with Multiform (as per the USPD). This will allow him to assume the forms of different creatures and is one of the best ways that I can see (Thanks Steve) to do Shapeshifters.

     

    We have one problem though - he has a bunch of skills and languages that he knows in his base form and would like to be able to use them in his new forms. Unfortunately (as far as I know) Multipowers does not facilitate this and I think it is unreasonable for to have to buy these skils again in each multiform....Does anyone have any ideas of how to get around this?

    I am attempting to do a write-up in 5th Ed for ths character from the 4th Ed module The Zodiac Conspiracy but am having difficulties. The description given for her powers is not descriptive at all. How does her Transform work (what are it effects)? Why does she have an EGO to END Transfer? Does she shapechange forms including growth and shrinking or is she a kind of Ant-woman to giant-woman character?

     

    Anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Maybe HERO could post a free download listing all the additional adders and their location?

     

    Having said that is this not what you get when you buy TSR/WoTC products. I can only speak for 2nd Ed but all the character handbooks added extra rules for characters - can't DOJ do the same?

    I am running a campaign and find the current rule of "GM Decides" for surprise a little...flat?

     

    How do others out there handle the chance of being surprised? Other game systems use random rolls or rolls on specific stats - has anyone come up with an equivalent for HERO?

    I was just wondering how GM's out there handle presence attacks against their super-heroes...is it just me or is rather "unheroic" for a character to be humbled this way?

     

    If the PRE attack is successful do you just "take control" of that character until its effect wears off?

  7. I've got a MI question that I hope Herodom assembled will be able to help me with:

     

    Set scenario = Heroes fighting giant lizard creature

    Mentalist creates an illusion that a Gunship flies through the city and shoots the creature in the eye, effectively blinding it - how would you handle this?

     

    To me it simulates a flash with an extended time advantage -calculated by the AP on the MI dice rolled? Does the "Does STUN" and/or "Does BODY" adder need to be applied?

     

    If this is the case can MI simulate any power?

  8. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to handle removing the Juggernaut's (from the MARVEL universe) helmet to expose his weakness to mental attacks - is it just simply an OIF or something more?

     

    The X-men characters seem to have a hell of a time removing the bolts that hold it - If it is done as an Inaccessible focus it would take a turn to remove but is the effect cumulative (does characters chipping away at a OIF equate to a "turn")?

     

    Does anyone else have any ideas on how to stop a Juggernaut-esque character (I am doing a blatant rip off for my campaign)?

  9. I would love to be able to download them without the pesky blue circle that covers their feet. Since we can already save the jpg from the side panel it would be FANATASTIC if HG put them up (complete) as downloads in a zip file.

     

    Count me in - and the people from the "Coloured Pictures" post in the Champions discussion board!!

Does anyone know any superhero adventures that were written by companies other than Hero Games (Champions), FGU (Vigilantes and Villains), Mayfair Games (DC Heroes) and TSR (Marvel SH)? If so please list any that were good?

    I know that Missile Deflection (MD) can be put into a Multipower (MP) but I have one question concerning its operation...

     

    If a character has only enough points to use only one power in a MP, can that character say assign the points to their MP in their action phase and then, in a following phase before their next action phase, use MD? For example, if Hydoboy acts on phases 3,6,9 & 12 - He fires a water blast on phase 3 then gets attacked on phase 4 can he redistribute his MP Pool so that he can attempt to MD?

     

    I'm stumped because I know that reallocation of MP points is a 0 phase action (could he alternatively reallocate his MP Pool at the end of his phase 3 action?).

  12. Hi All,

     

    I'm wanting to run an old V&V module but am having problems creating the villain Ani-man. This guy is able to animate any inanimate object to do his bidding - and only needs to concentrate on the object while doing so (once animated the item has a mind of its own but follows Ani-man obediently).

     

    Could you guys help me out and create his powers (or give me ideas)? I've kinda drawn a blank on this one....:confused:
