  1. Re: Answers & Questions Q: Whatever will you so? A: Some things are just not meant to go together. And those are three of them.
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Mmmm...in need of a big ice tea and a frosty...baby is hungry...
  3. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Woo-hoo! When do we get directions? In other news (and for those that don't post to any other boards I post to)...the Doctor and I are moved into our new place...and engaged.
  4. Re: Answers & Questions Q: Why would you say this macaroni is a superfood? A: Woo! If they don't comply after 3 days, they get towed.
  5. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I was taken aback when the rep told me it'd be around $100 (that is if we drive the truck the 50 miles I estimated). But, being that she was able to take my info, reserve the 16' truck for 2 days, and was very kind and understanding makes it worth the price already. And when Ken moved here from Arizona, I think he paid like $500 when all was said and done with his U-Haul rental. Which, doesn't seem that bad to me I guess. But, he had problems when he went to return it. Specifically refilling it to appease the U-Haul God's. Also, when he went in to try to reserve the truck yesterday with them, they said "You can pick it up at 5pm tomorrow (meaning today), but it has to be back my 11am Friday." Ummm...no. We're not going to spend the night moving into a new place. Especially since the noise ordinance would cut us off at 10 until 7 the next morning. So, yeah. No more U-Haul for me. Period.
  6. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Why do I get the feeling I've read these posts before? I'm not kidding...it's almost like I had a dream a while back that I was reading responses similar to these. Freaky. Anywho. Yeah. I've never really dealt with U-Haul, as I've never had to rent a truck before to move (every move I've been involved in, my parents have also been involved in ). So, I had no idea. Looks like I will be taking your guys' adivse and never going U-Haul again. Thanks.
  7. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Took a huge car-load of stuff to the new place last night. Put up both shower curtains and went to dinner. Spent more money at Target picking up some groceries (mainly sandwhich fixin's for Saturday's lunch). Didn't get into bed till 9. Tonight is a laid back night. Kind of. I have a few things I've got to do, few things I still have to get packed into a box...but no major moving tonight. Veggitating tonight. Also, my washer and dryer are being delivered today. I can't wait to do laundry in my new washer and dryer.
  8. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I think we're both equal when it comes to procrastination. I mean, we both forgot Monday to call and reserve a truck, so when I remembered yesterday, Ken went to U-Haul and they had nothing for the days we needed. So, I ended up calling Budget and got a truck for tomorrow and Saturday. Had we called U-Haul like a week or two ago, we would have had a truck and wouldn't have had to scramble to find one. So, we need to work on that. Oh...and I think the next time we move, we're gonna call about local movers (there's a couple around here that'll come load up the truck and move it and unload it in the new place).
  9. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Communication is #1 in our relationship. I grew up watching my parents fight all the time because of communication problems...and that's the last thing I want in my relationship.
  10. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Alice: He's a laid back, rest in between moving stuff kind of guy. I love him dearly...and we had talked about him getting as many of the boxes (most of which will fit in his car) moved over yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and then all we'd have to worry about moving Friday and Saturday is furniture. I suppose I'm just a bit more excited now and wanting everything to be done now. So really, my queary is a rethorical one. Thanks for the input though.
  11. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Just a note...beginning probably tonight or tomorrow, Ken's net time will be nill, and mine will be limited to work only as we continue the moving process and get our house together. My guess would be, we're hoping to be back up and running by mid-next week. It'll just depend on when I allow Ken to get to work on the wireless home network and DSL connection and get away from the unpacking of kitchen and other household items.
  12. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Ok...how do you get an unmotivated...or more like limited motivation man to get his stuff together and work on getting more stuff moved from one location to another in a quick amount of time? Seriously. I had hoped my lovely DocO would have moved at least 3 car-loads of stuff to our new place today. He's taken one. We will be loading down his car with as many boxes from my parents house as we can when I get home and taking that over tonight. So, how do I get him motivated enough to possibly finish moving the rest of the small boxes and other small stuff that can be transported via car to the new place? I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to pull out the big guns and refuse getting horizontal with him if it's not mostly done tomorrow. Too cruel?
  13. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Ummm...some song on the radio.
  14. Re: A Thread for Random Musings 1 day and 6 hours left for the work week. Bought our washer and dryer last night. They will be delivered and set up sometime tomorrow (we're supposed to get a call tonight letting us know what time tomorrow). Also bought a vacuum cleaner, broom/dustpan, mop/bucket, and shower curtains. Picking up a few groceries tonight, as well as some cleaning and laundry supplies. I'm getting so excited to be moved in already. I can hardly sit still.
  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings I 2nd that.
  16. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I don't abuse apostrophes or commas. I do however heavily abuse the dot dot dot (...)
  17. Re: Answers & Questions Q: She had what tattooed...there? A: Super secret sauces spilling from the saucers.
  18. Re: The cranky thread Do I be cranky for fear of the outcome or laugh at my bosses...little lie that she just got busted on? Just had a vendor call...asking where a check was that my boss told him was "in the mail" when they talked on the 12th. Only...the check didn't go out until yesterday, which is what I told him. And now the vendor wants to come pick up another check Thursday to throw in their overnight package to HQ. I selected around 6k in past due invoices, and will have to talk to Denette Thursday morning before he calls me back. So, I don't know whether to laugh at "busting" her, or shake in my booties for my possible screw-up.
  19. Re: The cranky thread To add to my craptastic day...my boss has been in a mood all day. And when she's in a mood and you do something even minorly wrong or whatever, her tone makes you feel like it's this huge major big mistake. *sighs* I screwed up billing on an invoice yesterday. Easy fix today. Mistake could have been avoided had the woman who enters the customer PO's as sales orders on our end, changed the dollar amount on the PO for the line I billed but shouldn't have (the bad thing about this is, the customer sent a revised PO because they added 45 parts to the original PO, and had the woman at our work done her job right, I wouldn't have to be doing her job of issuing a credit and rebilling). Is the day over yet?
  20. Re: Musings on Random Musings Who doesn't like it?
  21. Re: The cranky thread Work sucks. It's boring...and productive. I'm tired and would rather be at home sleeping. I'm feeling slightly icky again today. Not fun. Blergh.
