  1. Re: another EC question

    Imma BigsTupid,

I wanted to peg it @ a 5d6 Major Transform. That puts the active points @ 75. Heres how I did it: Subtract the base cost from the active point cost (75-20=55). Now apply the limitation Rapid Recovery (BOD every 6 hours) -1. That should make it 27 real points which is what the slot now costs, aye?

  2. I am building another 20 point EC based on ice powers. I want to be able to freeze people/things solid. I decided that a major transform was the best way to go. My question lies on how to pay the points in an EC. I will add a limitation of healing normal body every 6 hours which I believe to be a -1 Lim.

How do I figure out the real points?

  3. Re: Art question

They look like painted minis. If that were the art going into a book like say Fantasy Hero, I'd think the quality was subpar. If they were going into a min game book, the it would be much more acceptable.

  4. The classic 'brick smacks his hands together and creates a big boom'. In Fred, its described as a hearing group flash. I don't think this is all that useful and doesn't correctly model the effect of grabbing your ears and being unable to act because of the force of the blow and general discombobulation.

I think entangle does this much better. My question is, following the based on ECV line, if I add explosion to the entangle (cone) and take no range, does this behave as does area of effect (cone) no range (where the effect begins in the hex away from the character thus avoiding the whole character takes full effect clause)?

  5. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control?

Steve: I had thought about making the invisibility into images. I don't like the no fringe thing, which is why I'd much rather pull it out of the EC or change the EC point total to accomodate the base, no adders, invisibility. I think we have the same idea here on how the SFX is going to apply in this instance. Thanks for the idea about change environment. I'll give that a go when I can look at the book again.

  6. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control?

What is the basis of the powers?

Force Field and EB I can see.

Flight? Does the guy have ballast tanks in his suit with vents that jet super-heated air?

Invisibility - Sight? With fringe caused by heat-haze?

These are points you have to work out with your GM and to his satisfaction, not mine, but I am not sure how these are all heat related.

Flight would be the manipulation of heat currents in the air.

Invisibility would (I believe) be similar to your thoughts here. I was entertaining the idea of doing images, would that work?

  7. Re: "Sorry m'am, you'll have to check your hand grenades."

If its something that they know of in advance, then perhaps the OAF player can leave a few days earlier in order to prepare themselves or obtain new equpiment on site.

If that is not the case, now there is a side quest where they must go find someone who can teleport or make sure their stuff gets to the right place at the right time. Especially if you take the teleporting avenue and its a big experimental set up (as in not yet thoroughly tested) then you have all kinds of story possibilities open up when they get across the country/world and find one of their arrows missing...

  8. Re: What to do about long, mysterious absences?

She is not aware of his secret ID. It also didn't help that his team mates have never met his sister nor do they know where she lives. So she has had no contact with anyone who would know anything through the whole time.

I intend for the sister to be the host of one of the baddies in a future story arc for two reasons. The first is that the present story arc mainly uses background elements from the other members of the party. I'd like to get this character some DNPC limelight. The second reason has to do with her paralysis. Her injury is the reason our comatose hero is a hero. He never wanted anything like that to happen to anyone else. In past game sessions, this sister has lamented the fact that now everything is different in their lives and she wishes life was more like before her accident. I want to play out the story of someone who had use of their legs, lost it and then was granted it again in warped sort of way. She will like being the avatar of this being because it allows her to do things again.

  9. In my campaign, one of the characters was injured enough that he went into a coma and needed hospitalization. This character has a secret ID. He also has a DNPC sister with whom he lives and cares. (She's wheelchair bound as well.) In total, the character has been gone for at least two weeks. Now I need to figure out what has gone on with the sister.

It fits my GMmy purposes to have her abducted by VIPER or some wierd cult to use as a host for a visiting extraplanar entity but I don't quite think that its dramatically correct timing to do it now as the current plotline has still not been resolved.

What do others suggest or how have you seen it handled well?
