Re: A Thread for Random Musings
Hey look, I haven't caught Headbanger's ball for a couple of years! And yet the bands are all the same. Otep, Meshuggah, Max Cavalera... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
It's really hard to tell these spaghetti westerns apart.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
this is just sick and wrong if it really works.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
Huh. I knew oranges were always male or herm, but I didn't know about tortie sexuality. Who said you can't learn anything from playing RPGs?

Re: The cranky thread
The Tamiflu works great, but I'm the only one who was in a position to get it--it's still working its way through the rest of the family. I'm just hoping it doesn't get to my wife.

Re: Expedition to the Barrier Peaks Hero
You can also buy the PDF of it from Paizo publishing for $4:Didn't the hardcopy version originally cost $4?

Re: What gives the "rightful" king the right?
That only works up to a point. When a king was too young it always brought up lineage and regency issues that more often than not resulted in chaos.

Re: The cranky thread
So I got the flu from my kid, who got it from his cousin, who got it from her mom. Some family get-together. (It's influenza-A, if anyone cares.)
Meanwhile, the side effects list on the Tamiflu is entertaining. Blistering rashes? Confusion? Wth is this stuff?

Re: The cranky thread
Esteemed coworker:
Whereas-
you routinely forget your own meetings and rely on engineering to remember them for you;
you are so poorly organized that you fail to bring important opportunities to our attention in a timely manner;
you expect engineering to drop whatever they're doing and meet the submissions deadlines for those opportunities anyway;
you have repeatedly failed to credit engineering for their efforts in these matters;
you can nevertheless be counted on to report any and all mistakes committed by engineering to your superiors, clearly intending to shift blame away from yourself;
The Engineering Department-
declines to assist you with your personal meeting schedule henceforth;
refuses to create technical specifications for your opportunities with less than 24 hours' notice, lest they be improperly checked for error;
will report to your superiors every mistake you ever make, with the eventual goal of having you disciplined or terminated.
Most sincerely,
Engineering.

Re: The cranky thread
There is no last page. That's a bug that's been happening for a while now. You're on the last page, it's just that the boards append a phantom one.
Would you measure your depression in fathoms? Back when I used to get it, I would get this image in my mind of being trapped in a box far underground. It was a very claustrophobic feeling.

Re: The cranky thread
My favorite weekend all-year is NFL Draft weekend.Far be it for me to question the eccentricities of a Hero gamer... but this part confuses me. Anyway, I sympathize, my two-year-old sticks like a barnacle whenever I'm home. I'd recommend tying them up, but it sounds like you need the whole weekend, not just one game.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
"Ray of Light" should have gotten her a jail sentence.
"Ray of Light" and "Frozen" are her best two songs, dude. "Vogue" is the one that she should have been jailed for.

Re: Certain gods in real-world pantheons
Yeah, while there may be no clear "evil" deity in some pantheons, some have no clear "good" deity either. The Greek certainly seems like one of these.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
And yet I'm guessing that you don't like all, or even most, of her stuff.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
Which ones, in your opinion, have both music and vocals that don't suck?

Re: Musings on Random Musings
I don't like artists so much as I like specific songs. Madonna's later work includes two or three good songs. There are only one or two musicians in the cosmos where I like a significant percentage of their work.

I didn't escape the ice storm' date=' we had last week, like I thought. The falling branches messed up our gutters just enough that water came into the basement yesterday. Into my room.[/quote']They keep you locked up in the basement too eh? I shoulda known.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
Today my kid's happy meal toy had a laser in it. A frickin' laser. When did it become the future?
Then again, the whole point of the toy was to aim the laser into your eye...
