  1. Re: What in genre bit do you like that no one else seems to enjoy ?

Well' date=' the traditional form for alot of the weaknesses is "total powerlessness," which is not especially fun to RP. It also violates some of the metagame rules of thumb, like "try not to have flaws that are totally crippling."[/quote']

I play a character named Whiteraven who is a 600+ point Egoist. Her major disadvantege is that she is mute. Her vocal cords have been mangeled and she cannot form words telepathically. I have to play in character with my mouth shut. She has the skill sign language but none of the other players have spent experience points to pick it up so plan B is to write out what I say under the pretext of useing a text messenger. Telepathically, she uses images of things that she remembers sub-consciously and sends them in a form of a psionic rebus puzzel and hope the players understand it. Suffice it to say, I've gone through quite a few memo pads playing this character but wouldn't have it any other way.

  2. Re: What in genre bit do you like that no one else seems to enjoy ?

    In your group, or generally?

For example, I like aliens. However, I have never been allowed to PLAY an alien in Champions. The GMs either cringe about how hard it would be to fit that in,

In my group, the players are members of a SHADO-like organization defending the earth against hostile alien threats. I have not excluded actual alien characters and no one has come up with one. My only requierment for alien characters is to come up with a viable background of the race and what does he or she bring to the table in terms of enhancing the organization's ability to carry out its mandate.

  3. Re: What Champions Books Would You Like Published in the Future?

Here's my two small copper disks worth.

OCEANIC CHAMPIONS- I'm currently working on ocean themed characters and organizations to use in my campaign that in itself could be used as a sourcebook since I have many of them. This could include a UEO- type organization in charge of protecting the worlds oceans, A research organization with its own super-sub run by an eccentric 4-star Admiral, Corperations who wish to plunder the ocean floor and can do so, More detail into UNTIL's underwater operations, and so on.

LAND OF THE TSARS: RUSSIAN CHAMPIONS- This would include Russian history and mythology from the Mongol Invasion to the rise of the Tzars. From the rise of the Romanov Dynasty to the fall of the Soviet Union. From the Cossacks to the KGB and on to the Red Fellas. This would also include Russia's premiere superteam before and after the fall of the USSR and how to operate a team in which government resources are few and far between( if not outright stolen) plus answers the question; What do KGB agents do when they are out of a job ? This could include an old Russian cold war group(either3e or 4e. I'm not sure) and where are they now and working for whom?

KEEP WATCHING THE SKY: My campaign centers around a secret organization that investigates and defends against UFO's . From ancient tripods to guys wearing dark glasses asking you to stare at a pen, this would cover it all. This would include some of the more famous UFO sites like Roswell and Area 51, Write ups for for various aliens that are both hostile and freindly, Write ups for corperations that wish to exploit alien technology for various purposes, Groups both heroic and superheroic(mine's super),Plus, UNTIL's policies on alien defense. (P.S. UFO Files on the History Channel is a great source)

    KINGDOM OF CHAMPIONS: Yes.definetly.

THE RISING SUN: CHAMPIONS OF JAPAN: Ditto.

  4. Re: your campaigns "Superman".

Star Knight is mine. He is a Questoran. A cosmic immortal whose never ending quest is to rid all evil in the universe. Star Knight is an NPC whose scientific knowledge spans millennia and is a last minute rescuerer if things really go bad for the good guys.

  5. Re: Super Names

Here is my contribution known as the Sapphire Squad.

BLUE DRAGON: A Chineses monk who can change into three forms of a dragon-like creature.

CATAMOUNT: A former New Hampshire Sheriff's Deputy who wears an alien armour that mimics a small wildcat's abilities.

CYBERSEER: A Russian scientist with cybernetic implants.

DODGER: A Russian former gymnast with super agility and various hyper senses.

GHOST SOLDIER: An American entrepenuer in Siberia with desolidification gadgets and a Cold War past.

HUMMINGBIRD: A Canadian Egoist who can translate alien languages in an instant.

NIGHT ANGEL: A Russian version of Bat-girl.

RED FALCON: A Russian flyer who's allegiances remain suspect.

SKATER GIRL: A Russian teenager who can "hyper-skate" great distances at fantastic speeds.

THORNSTRIKE: An Uzbek who controls plants.

I haven't seen the whole thread so I don't know how many may have been repeated. These are just some that I'm using.
