Did They Fly it Over on Concorde? Got my copy of FH through the post from Wayland's Forge in Birmingham on the 31st (last Thursday) so it must have been at the UK distributor no later than the 29th. It's going to take me far longer to read and digest this weighty tome than it took to get from the US printers to my sweaty palms here in the UK. Very impressed so far though. I'm looking forward to reading the "How to run a campaign" bit. IMO, this section in the 2nd edition FH was the best of its kind I'd read in any RPG product ever and I'm hoping for more of the same here!

Airship Ideas A good science fiction story featuring a super dirigible is Philip Jose Farmer's "The Dark Design" (The Dark Design). This features a real beast of a rigid airship called The Parseval. It has all sorts of super whizzy stuff like torpedo launchers, bombs, on board helicopters, steam powered machine guns, etc. Good source of ideas for a combination of retro and high tech. Come to think of it, there are probably stats and descriptions for it in GURPS Riverworld. The blurb on the SJG website would seem to suggest that there are... GURPS Riverworld . Sounds like an ideal source to me!
