  1. Re: Critical Hits? Just to clarify, this would be for PCs and NPCs alike and not for KOing mooks. I want that extra flavour and danger of critical hits. And thanks for all the replies, I have ideas for years to come.

  3. Re: Critical Hits? Thanks! Rules for crits in UMA are definately nasty and they also occur more easily but they are also less exciting for the players, they usually like rolling more dice instead of less . I'm open to more houserulings but I'm definately testing the ones in UMA.
  4. Maybe I missed something (I probably did) but I can't find anything about critical hits in the core book (or fantasy hero since I'm mostly interested in crits in the fantasy genre). Any reference in the books? Any experience with houseruling? What about... - 3, 4 critical hit, 5 too if you rolled with a 14- or more? - x2 Damage? Roll damage twice? - Ignore armor? I'm open to suggestions and experience . edit: I messed up the numbers.
  5. Re: El Santo cartoon preview This is probably the best promotion you could get for Lucha Libre HERO and it goes a long way in showing that LLH is not about wrestling brawls. Oh, and being Spanish helps understand the cartoon .

So we have a Mystic Samurai-like superhero, who has bought a Multipower for his katana, something more or less like: Katana: Multipower 60 point 1) HKA 4d6 2) HKA 3d6 Penetrating 3) HKA 3d6 Autofire 4) HA +3d6 Double Knockback and such Now, this character wants to buy Kenjutsu maneuvers and my question is: Can he buy Martial Arts maneuvers for the weapon he built/payed points for in the same way as if it were a standard weapon? If so, how? extra DC granted from maneuvers would add to the standard weapon damage? (say slot 1) Could he make any combination of slots and maneuvers? Thanks in advance!
  9. Re: Getting rid of Endurance I'm running a Valdorian Age game and I got rid "more or less" of both END and SPD. I fixed SPD at 2, no matter the character, it's there and it's the same for all characters. I also thought of giving SPD 3 to all but mooks which would have SPD 2. I ignored END costs, except for sorcerers which have a reserve endurance for spells, so no problem. I wouldn't do this for supers or maybe my next fantasy campaign but I think it fits some genres where you don't want to do book keeping.
  10. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? I agree, more about the Champions Universe and less about the characters that inhabit it. I also like the idea of adventure ideas and scenarios, some pages can't hurt.

Re: Need help: Heat Metal Well, here's what I got: Heat Metal: 1/2d6 HKA Sticky (+1/2) Continuing Charges lasting 1 Minute each (+1/2) Continuous (+1) Must be cast on a metal (-1) No STR Bonus (-1/2) Extra Time (Extra Phase, Only to Activate, -1/2) Side Effects, Side Effect occurs automatically whenever Power is used (Costs 3 END; -1/2) Active Points: 30 Real Cost: 8 Only 1/2d6, so this is not a "Die you bastard!" attack but something more like "get burned! a little" (actually this is for a fire-based multipower and this is supposed to be more useful than powerful). I finally went for 1 min Continuing Charges, +1/2 is the value for 12 Charges and since I doubt it will get used that many times a day I decided not to limit it just for flavor since none of the other spells have Charges. And besides I dislike the idea of using charges for innate abilities, so unless someone knows a more "legal" way of buying these "unlimited continuing charges that cost END" I'm going with it. And by the way, thanks, a lot .

Re: Need help: Heat Metal I really don't mind if it's RKA or HKA, it's either gonna be RKA with No Range or HTA with No STR Bonus because I want the caster to touch the metal, I could also go with an EB NND. I was more concerned with Charges, Sticky, Uncontrolled, etc. Now I really like this : Continuous +1 Uncontrolled +1/2 0 END +1/2 Sticky +1/2 Side Effect costing END when spell is first cast but how do I limit the time the spell is on without Continuing Charges? Another possibility could be putting Continuing Charges instead of Uncontrolled & 0 END. Is there any other combo possible for this?
  14. Re: Need help: Heat Metal I should explan myself more clearly . I could buy of course Costs Endurance and buy enough charges so that I don't run out of them but I was wondering if there was a more elegant way to build this.
