  1. Thanks then I think I understand it now completely.
  2. Hmmm that means a dragons firebreath would have it as -0 limitation (and not a sticky advantage?)
  3. sticky is what I saw somehwere (I think a powerwriteup by a player) thats why I mentioned it. Didnt think that that effect could be a side effect (saw it only as beneficial). Interesting idea though! Can you post your idea why a side effect? (so that I have a better feeling not only for fire, but also for other things special effects that can cause additional effects on how to build/put them to use)
  4. Hi Got a question in regards to special effects and blasts and the like. If I have for example a fire based blast am I correct that I can't iginite anything unless I buy a linked part with sticky? Thus: If it gives a bonus against wood based powers is based on gm, but to reallly iginite something with teh blast it has to have some additional benefits (like a linked sticky power or soemthing similar)?
  5. I had looked it up when basic mentioned it so nope wasnt dropped (at least from 6th edition books.....no clue about the champions books maybe dropped there)
  6. Page 302 Heroes 6th edition book 1. Left column bottom "Armour piercing" there it is stated. Would have been better if they had renamed the advnatage for this so that it doesnt create "uh for real" moments (had one myself when I first heard of the armour piercing advantage) but one can't have everything sadly.
  7. He talks about teleportation with armour piercing that counters "cannot be escaped with teleportation" but still I dont get the context of what he is talkinga bout currently
  8. Uhm what are you talking about there exactly? (your answer seems in no context to the last few posts)
  9. @ninja the cost of desolidificate would be much higher though than the 3m teleport if I remember correctly (especially with the not affected by gases modifier). Also some attacks CAN still affect one (I think there is a affects desolidificate adder somewhere) @Diamond: My problem was not really the strongness of the power itself, as I knew immediatetly how to counter it (and tbh I also saw immedieately how to counter basics whole char) , the problem I saw was more the low point cost for what he intended to do which was in no relation to other powers AND the applicatiion of one simple rule: Everything that a player can do an NPC possibly also can do. And I don't think basic would be happy if anyone now or later has a 14- or 16- roll to avoid everything basic can dish out (as I don't think that that is funny for the player). That is why I am quite concerned when it comes to powers especially if they can be built differently which causes no concerns (like a +DCV which triggers a teleportation if the dcv would be enough to stop the attack). Also one concern I always have is that an arms race between gm and player starts (which is never good and should be avoided where possible, done it once until I almost one hit killed a player character without intention [was a vampire who got attacked by a crocodile in another system that shocked me into form there^^])
  10. Found the problem thanks to chris on the chat. Snapshot is for firing from behind complete cover (overread the whole time the word depicting that).
  11. Hi got a question the cover rules are a bit confusing to me. If I'm behind cover can I still shoot out of cover (for example a sight based attack) or do I need to use snapshot to do that? If not what are typical use cases of snapshot?) tnx
  12. Yepp rember that. For your second part (sry on phone quoting is a hasssle on phone). Iam not sure if i understand what you mean there 100%. So lets take a blast that is bound to the item (can only be done if the item is present else only at 1/2 strength with the same endurance cost as the full blast ). And a blast that is "stored" in the item. Did you mean the first version with focus being the item (personal restraibable easily access). Or Did you mean the second version and you have a normal summon that csn summon such an item?
  13. Hi i just read the thread about sunmon specific being. A wuestion popped up there and i didnt want to hijack the thread with it so i made this one. For me the question is item related and i will use magical girls/sailor moon as example there (those are one of the few examples with regular item summonibgs i know of) She can sunmon a crescent moon rod then later on a whatevername moon rod after gainibg more points and uses those to cast her spells. The question here is. Would that count alreafy as specific beings? (If used as focus for her powers. If the items itself has her powers and casts them it is clear its a specific being althouugh what would it be if someone else cant use that spell is thrre any adder for that?) Another part of the question is the silence glaive. It is a highly feared weapon recognizeable immediately (and quite powerful in terms of stats). Would that already count as specific being or only if it is different from other silence glaives?
  14. Though doesnt he need the continuous for the sticky part? Or is that automatically there until the entanglement is broken without continuous necessary?
  15. That is also how i understood how the power was intended. When basic then wanted to use it to attack from behind cover thst took me on the wrong foot at first then i saw what the rulles part (at first didnt know that spatial sense has targeting included and said not possible to target with this power until basic pointed the targeting included out to me and i remembered the indirect advantage). Tnx for the reply
  16. To enhance that example. Using ice sfx does not geant a blast the abilty to insta freeze a target, instead you would need to buy that as either linked or compound power with entangle (or drain dex whichever makes more sense for the appropriate implementation how the freezing works) So not only adv/disadv can happen to be needed to impose what a power shall do. Even whole other powers can be needed. Btw tnx so far for the answers it is then as i had thought (but wasnt 100% sure)
  17. Hi I've got a question as it came up with a build a player made. He has clairsentience Spatial Sense: Clairsentience (Sight Group, Detect And Spatial Awareness), Discriminatory, Increased Arc Of Perception (360 Degrees) (40 Active Points); Extra Time (Extra Phase, -3/4), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4), Requires A Roll (14- roll; -1/4), Unified Power (Teleportation; -1/4) Now what I'm unsure about: Claisentience is normally not targeting and he would have to buy targeting for 10 pts, but he can buy spatial awareness instead which gives him targeting AND the ability to see through obstacles for only 5 pts. Am I missing something there? Or is there any reason why spatial is cheaper than targeting? Also on that note with how the power is bought: does the concentration need to be done during the whole time the power is active? (thus the whole time -1/2 dcv) or only during activation? Also another quuestion there: As the character has blast,.... if he hides behind cover and uses the spatial sense to see his enemies am I correct he would need "indirect" to use the blast,... againstt enemies on the other side of the cover? (one of the powers: Teleport Boxing: Blast 7d6, Area Of Effect (16m Radius; +3/4) (61 Active Points); Extra Time (Full Phase, -1/2), Limited Range (-1/4), Requires A Roll (14- roll; -1/4), Unified Power (-1/4)) thus if I'm right he would need "indirect" to be able to use it from behind the cover on enemies seen just with clairsentience?
  18. Also like i had said during the game that counts as power stunt (with how the power is currently built with no entangle). You can do it once maybe twice (thus a handful of times) but then you need to buy it ( either the power upgraded to have entangle which it then always does or you buy a second power that does the entangle. Your choice there )to be able to use your power continuously that way.
  19. you mean isntead of the other 2 powers? then we would have the same situation as before again as we have an autoimmunity against physical attacks,... (also desolied doesnt work against gasous powers) the mainprob is also with the original idea of basic that it would be autoimmune (the 14- roll is no 14- roll but a skillroll so we can see 18- there after some sessions). And autoimmune is something that I want to avoid as from experience that always leads to an arms war between the player involved and the gm (have it seen quite a few times and heard of it in additional cases). also that reminds me a bit too much of mmo's (immune to physical attacks......use the tank to distract him and then use sorcerers only) also a desolification trigger + a teleport trigger that are there to avoid damage are in effect a 100DC damage negation or a 100% damage reduction and that for almost no cost compared with those (and like I mentioned before also all things pc's can do theoretically npc can do and I dont think a pc is happy when he hears "Ok I managed the skillroll of 16- so youra ttack is completely negated because of my trigger" despite the PC hitting him with a roll of 18 with his strongest attack that leaves him unconscious afterwards)
  20. and why not jusst teleporting the slidehammer (or however it is called and spelled) out of the gun? Easier to do and the gun is useless afterwards and for the steel beam....teleporting away parts of the beam (or better teh whole beam teleported away )
  21. I know that is why I had the idea to extend the trigger of the teleport away power to also include AOE if and only IF the increased dcv would have been enough to avoid them. I had thought about dive for cover but the problem is that that would be an action thus active while a dcv increase is purely passive and takes up nothing actionwise. to also not unbalance the teleportation away part of the 2 powers to make it so that you are autoimmune to aoe I would have put the trigger that way. but question is though is there a better way to do that (with only passive powers)?
  22. When I read the champions power book (basic mentioned it I think 2 days ago) I found something that would come near to the first and last iterations of what the blink power should be like (in between was something like spider sense): A combination of blink teleport and reflex teleport. Thus he gains +8 DCV (costs endurance) and if the dcv would be enough to get him out of the danger (even for AOE attacks) then reflex teleport kicks in and teleports him away (thus that dcv helps also against AOE and he gets to teleport if he manages to avoid the damage thanks to the increased dcv). what do you think there? I saw that as one of the possible weaknesses of the char (one of a few), Then again superman has a similar problem with kryptonite near. One problem I see though when I reread the char is the "spatiolock" in combination with teleportation unified. not a "real" problem more a thinking prob there (which is also true for the power by itself): What happens if someone is 200 years old and gets his immortallity power blocked/drained? Does he die immediately, just start aging again,.... ? Or depends on what is most appropriate? One thing on that also: Basic mentioned yesterday he wants an immunity to time line changes. Thought there of an item in the empress book:Change environment(that temporal effects dont affect im), aoe with 2m and no range and persistent or would there be other ways to do this?
  23. Had overread this part about int in the book tnx there (also got the info about the bookpart in the chat).
