Re: "Neat" Pictures
What' date=' all day or just for a moment? Which celestial objects are these supposed to be above the Pyramids anyway?[/quote']I am guessing it is meant to be Orion's Belt. Some recent books claim (amongst other things) that Ancient Egypt laid out various of its pyramids to mirror the constellation of Orion, with the 'Big Three' at Giza being the Belt.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Well' date=' if McGinty dies as spectacularly as I hope, I might get a nomination for Style Kill. Rest assured I will describe it, at length, in excruciating detail.[/quote']What makes you so certain, if this was to happen, that McGinty would STAY dead?

Re: Creepy Pics.
There are several of us born under the sign of Scorpio you know. Are you sayig that we are not adorable ?My wife is a Scorpio. She is also from a part of China that considers scorpion a delicacy. There are respectably-sized scorpion farms in some parts, and one can get small scorpions roasted on satay sticks in downtown Beijing (not bad, sort of a crispy BBQ taste).
So, she probably would not consider those baby scorpions to be adorable - more likely "Mmmmm, tasty....".

Netzach Benetek continues to suffer the results of his increasingly inhuman obesity.
GM: Your hoverboard is so overloaded it barely clears shag carpetGM: Sure, you can get up there - just flex your buttocks, that should work the hoverboard controls.Magos Casu Marzu: Bags never cleaning that hoverboard.Jak Frost: S***, beat me to it....... And thank you s-o-o-o-o much for the mental imagery that this has led to. -

Some very very good lines that would fit in well with just about any rpg.
Some day, I'll have to actually sit down and watch the movie.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
If Hippocrates' player keeps making characters like Marzu' date=' McGinty, [i']and [/i]theApothecary, he'll eventually be able to pull a Moorcock and write a series of
stories in which the various characters -- Hippocrates, Marzu, and McGinty --
are all manifestations of the same being.
Only instead of them being known collectively as the Eternal Champion, they'll
be known as the Eternal Bloodthirsty Lunatic.
Major Tom 2009
Repped for accuracy.
As usual, I can't rep Drhoz.

Ouch.I was talking about Marvin, actually. Small guy, gi-normous weapon systems, etc..
If you had the impression I was making a personal attack on you, then I apologize because it was absolutely unintentional on my part. I don't roll that way.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
The others called it correctly as a Golden Orb spider. Article here. And it was in Australia. This site has a short *video* of it!
*moves from Australia*that 'thing' is horrendous.
Golden Orb spiders are very common in the greener parts of Sydney, though somewhat smaller than their Queensland relatives. Not considered dangerous (by Australian standards, anyhow ). In their life cycle, the females build big strong webs and get progressively bigger / fatter (up to about 3" long, including legs, maximum) during the warmer months before dying out completely (presumably birthing the next generation).
Accidentally walking into their webs is a common occurrance in some places (including around my neighbourhood), and as disconcerting as for ANY spider, but I've never heard of anybody actually being bitten by them. Of course, maybe they are just careful to hide the bodies afterwards.
