May 2008: Damocles arrives at the Hive. Stripping himself of all tools save a simple gas mask Jack Lightning clears a path to the central ship. Entering the Hive Damocles allows himself to be captured. Taken to the central brain Damocles merges with the invading intelligence.

Example: Standing upon a precipice of asphalt Murdersky rains down waves of lead from his chaingun. Pinned down by the suppression fire Ronin will need to pull out all the stops to cover the distance quickly. Moving from Close Range to Long Range is 3 Increments (Short, Medium and Long) Ronin needs a 55 or higher to cover the distance in a single Turn. Ronin’s Dexterity is 10, his Movement: Running is 5. He’s athletic but not a speedster. Nancy, Ronin’s player, spends 4 Willpower to add Explosive and Amazing Critical to the Roll. The Roll 15 + 3d6 + 1d6 from Amazing Critical: 4, 6, 2, 6. As an explosive Roll this Value is doubled and Ronin gains an additional +5 for each 6 for a Final Value of 61. As a nearby car explodes Ronin lunges forward. Gripping a parking meter Ronin kicks off,, vaulting himself into the air. Landing in a roll he comes up just in time to see Murdersky standing over him barrels spinning up on the heavy gun.

Allow the Characters time to investigate Snake Oil, at least a day or two. If the Character doing the investigation learned about Snake Oil through the fitness scene allow some additional time playing the news story midway.

Brooding Fitness The following adventure is designed as an introductory story for new Low or Classic Level Heroes. It helps if Characters have ties to the local community or use facilities like a local gym. Foreshadowing A new performance enhancing drug has hit the streets. Labeled Snake Oil it is quickly catching on with bodybuilders and athletes willing to take the short road to victory. Characters exposed to this type of environment, working out in public gyms, or sports competitors will pick up on rumors of Snake Oil. If not the following news story will reveal Snake Oil.
