  17. Science (Intelligence): The Character has a fundamental understanding of the core sciences. The Character may use this Talent to gather information when studying or researching a topic. Characters with the Science gain 1 Free level of Armor for each 5 Levels of their Talent when dealing with Mental Attacks that bypass normal Defenses. There are six basic Specialties for Science: Formal Science: This Specialty works to categorize and define abstract concepts. The Formal Sciences include Decision Theory, Game Theory, Logic, Mathematics and Statistics. Once per Session the Character may add either 1 Free Level of Armor, or 1 additional Wound for each 5 Levels of this Specialty. Geoscience: This Specialty focuses on the natural world and environment incorporating fields such as Aerology, Ecology, Oceanography, Geology, Meteorology and Planetology Once per Session Characters may use their Geoscience as a Supporting Characteristic when resisting environmental hazards. Life Science: This specialty works to understand living organisms in their various shapes and forms. Life Science fields include Anatomy, Bioethics, Biology, Botany, Ecology, Genetics, Immunology, Neuroethology, Physiology, Zenobiology and Zoology. Once per Session Characters may use their Life Science as a Supporting Characteristic on an attack roll. The Character must explain how their Life Science Talent adds to their attack. Physical Science: This Specialty is the study of physics and chemistry overlapping with Life Science in some areas. . Characters with the Physical Science Specialty gain 2 Free level of Armor for each 5 Levels of their Specialty when dealing with Drug, Poison, or Toxin attacks. This applies even if the attack normally bypasses Armor. Social Science: This Specialty focuses on society, social interaction and relationships. Fields include Anthropology, Archaeology, Criminology, Education, Psychology and Sociology, Characters with the Social Science gain 1 Free level of Armor for each 5 Levels of their Talent when dealing with Mental Attacks that bypass normal Defenses.
