  1. Re: Favorite 60-point Power Construction My favorite 60 pt power is my 12D6 EB. My hero is a collector of ancient artifacts though he never intended to even be a hero. Anyway, he found THE original magical flaming sword which can shoot a fireball of 12D6, 5 charges. No advantages. The thing is every time I use this particular attack I roll like 4.0 to 5.0 pt average on the dice, which if you do the math is 48 to 60 Stun . It's not the dice. I use various dice from various players and it's still the same . It's funny.
  2. Re: Istvatha V'han - why can't she conquer Earth? I agree with Tech. The mere concept of Istvatha is ridiculous, even in the hero universe. Most real-life people cannot even conceive of just how large the universe is - in real life. Even scifi movies are smart enough to realize how impossible it would be to conquer qalaxies and galaxies, much less an entire dimension aka universe. It's so ludicrous as to be beyond even the suspension of belief. To take over millions of universes is plainly beyond common sense. Even having so-called gates throughout the universe would not suffice for even one dimenion subjegated. There is also something which is being assumed in almost all of these posts which is being neglected - universal law. The laws of physics may work fine for science, magic, mutant powers, etc in the universe of Earth, but may totally destroy any being in a new plane of existance. Our real-life minds - even given the existance of another dimension - simply cannot conceive of just how big our current universe is much less how different the laws of physics would be in another universe. This is applicable to the hero games. Even in the Star Trek universe, they were smart enough to break up the Milky Way Galaxy into quadrants because the Milky Way is too large for the Federation to explore, much less a universe and even less multiple universes. Look, in a year there are about 30,000,000 seconds. If a conqueror devoted only 5 minutes to each universe (excluding every doing anything like eating, sleeping, taking a potty break, talking, or any independent thought), you could only cover 100,000 universes. And 5 minutes cannot run a so-called governing authority over a little league game, much less a country, or world, or solar system, or constellation, or galaxy, or universe. In a story even given the suspension of disbelief, there are rules the story must adhere to. A universe must have a given set of rules of physics. Even superhero physics in the hero games universe simply does not allow for this concept to even exist.
  3. Re: Build this power It has nothing to do with what a hero has or does not have. With the concept of the power, it is not a force which knocks someone over, back or under. It simply is without regard to physics. Also, it's not very powerful - even a 10 year old can break out of it, given time, so I'm not concerned about frustration from anyone.
  4. Re: Enhanced Perception Question With your own terminology, you just shot your point in the foot. Levels according to 5th edition can only be used one at a time and do not apply to everything at the same time. Example: If you have 1 Overall Level which can be used for combat, skills, perception rolls or anything else your heart wishes, it can be used for either Combat or a skill roll or a perception roll, but not all 3 at the same time.
  5. Re: Build this power Really interesting. I'll have to think about it.
  6. A player I know wants to have a hero with this power: His hero strikes the ground, causing a (scale-wise) small earthquake, which hits enemies on the ground. The effect is that they are hit with a shockwave that unbalances them - their equilibrium. Now, this sounds like an Entangle that uses Dex, not Str, to break out out. If they don't break out, they're a sitting duck as a target - they're still recovering their equilibrium. However, the attack doesn't prevent foci from being used (i.e. blasters, etc), nor does it effect the target from using ranged attacks. How would you build this?
  7. Re: Exposed at last - Dr. Lirby Koo! Heh - I just saw the picture. Funny! I have to admit it does look pretty sinister. I think I'll use it for the official picture of Dr. Lirby Koo in my campaign.
  8. Re: Our Campaign's 25th Anniversary Congratulations on 25 years of heroing! It appears few on this board can boast of one long, ongoing campaign. You must have an incredible group of players. Well done to all of you in that campaign.
  9. Re: I eat my Cheerios stealthfully! That's funny! I've browsed the forums long enough (and finally decided to join) to see there are alot of dead serious campaigns out there. It's nice to see some campaigns on the lighter side of things
