I'm glad that the bad guys can think intelligently' date=' not just the PCs.[/quote']

Likewise. It was soooo frustrating the last time I played D&D to deal with stupid cannon fodder bad guys that forgot some of their own racial abilities.

  2. Re: Order of the Stick

There is a spell that can preserve corpses, keeping them fresh for purposes of raising (since it's much easier to raise an intact corpse, and less smelly).

But another possiblities ties in with Belkar's absence. We do, after all, know what his highest skill total is in.

As noted earlier, I don't know if Raise Dead will even work any more after all this time. It might have to be a True Resurrection.

As for Belkar if they went that appetizing route...possession anyone? :sneaky:

  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Said during a BESM game by an anime-obsessed college student PC who has been suffering hallucinations sent by the main baddie that one of the cartoons he's been following is actually real and demanding worship.

"We cannot fail! We have the power of Pikachu on our side!"

  4. Re: WWYCD: the mermaid

I love the idea of "European in outlook" towards nudity. I sometimes forget how big a thing it *seems* to be in the US... though looking back over the thread I suppose the clues were there:

"There's a half human half fish supernatural being out there!"

    "Meh"

    "And she's topless"

    "WTF!!! Call SWAT!"

Well, shoot...how many times does the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen get stolen or vandalized in some way?

  5. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing.

Despite the appropriate equipment and/or abilities of the party, somehow the PCs are not allowed to just simply blow up the death-filled maze to get from Point A to Point B...and yet the "evil" NPC squad following said PCs ARE.

Yeah, I'm still not happy about that one...

  6. Re: WWYCD: the mermaid

Given the fact that Cascade doesn't know the origins of her own water powers, she'd want to try to talk to her.

If this was Golden Age era, Iceberg would probably make sure the submarine is all on the up and up. After given the details and if neither the sub nor the mermaid appeared to be a threat, he'd probably leave them be (but would be ready to defend them if they got attacked).

My other heroes would take it on a case by case basis should their patrols &/or access to the appropriate authorities fit.

  7. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing.

Your GM gleefully lets the dumbest player play a Sorcerer Supreme character solely so he can take advantage of the fact the player can't handle a VPP (let alone ANY multiple choice combat).

Your GM gleefully looks for loopholes for his villains. Like Density Increase coupled with Strength Drain or having a PC's NND (Defense being target is an "innocent" ie has a Code vs Killing) not work on someone whose CvK is only against sealife.

The GM's uberpowered NPCs take out the villains and you're just sitting around twiddling your thumbs.

The only person's "critiques" your GM appears to listen to come from the spouse/significant other.

  8. Re: 'Divine' Characters

And here I was getting ready to be grossed out by a hero with powers requiring OAF: Pink Flamingos.

    :eek::idjit:

Never got too far in the campaign to explore it, but I had a suicidal musician who was an atheist ending up playing host body to a fallen angel trying to earn redemption.
