  1. Tried to follow the link, came up as invalid. Does this Discord server still exist? If so, can we get a fresh invite link?
  2. Heya, Are there any plans to re-release the first edition of Champions? Even an electronic/pdf version would be awesome.
  3. Hey all, Does anyone know of a solid GM Aid / Combat Tracker / Game Utilities program that uses the 6E Ruleset? If such a beast exists, could you post where to find it? I'm looking for something that tracks initiative, phases, damage taken, combat values, etc. thanks in advance, c42
  4. Re: END Reserve that begins with 0 END in it? Sounds like a winner! Thanks! c42
  5. Hey all, I'm working on a character with an END Reserve that is fuelled by Absorption. I'd like it to begin with 0 END in the reserve. I'd also like the Reserve to lose END that it has inside over time, draining eventually to 0 End again. I'm a little unsure as to how to build that, however. Any ideas?
  6. Issue Eight: The Odyssey Begins As Menton’s psychic projection taunts his sister Mentalla, the heroes prepare for a fight. Menton informs Mentalla that the game is up, he knows where they’re hiding, and soon the entire might of the Hegemony will be poised to wipe them from existence. Mentally coolly informs her brother that the game is indeed up… for him. Suddenly, every member of the First Legion is joined in some sort of telepathic gestalt. Menton becomes noticeably disturbed by this, trapped in a psychic snare even he cannot escape from. As a dull chanting rises in volume, Menton’s projected image of his self begins to dissolve, slowly fading from sight as he begs for mercy. With a shrill scream, the image vanishes… Mentalla then informs the heroes that her brother is dead, his once-mighty mind shattered beyond repair. Rattled by what they have seen, unwilling to be soldiers in Destroyer’s army, the heroes begin to discuss escape. Help arrives in an unsuspected ally – Mentalla herself. The mistress of mentalism guides the team to their vehicle, and from there to a secure base not even Destroyer knows about. She also tells them that she will see them soon, although not in the form they are accustomed to. For Mentalla to provide a counter to both the Hegemony and her ‘father’ Dr Destroyer, she must evolve. The shaken heroes fly to the coordinates provided by Mentalla and discover an UNTIL base, hidden within and guarded by the island itself. Built during the final days of the war, the base represents the efforts of Earth’s best and brightest minds. In their minds, they hear Mentalla’s voice, urging them to explore the base and to make good use of the marvels she has provided them. “I will join you soon,” she says softly. “I have left some suggestions for you with the base’s caretaker. Her name is Ofra.” Astonished, the heroes begin to explore their new home…
  7. Issue Seven: It Hits The Fan Destroyer, along with his ‘children’ Mentalla and Holocaust, plays gracious host to the newly-arrived heroes, letting them in on more of his plans. His First Legion, a host of paranormal humans trained to use their powers in battle, is preparing to assault the forces of the Warlord, Hegemon of Africa. One of the first targets is a training center, in where Warlord’s forces turn young recruits into super-powered shock troops. It seems that each Hegemon has been building their own private ‘super armies’, in case any of their allies tries to eliminate them (as they once did to Dr. Destroyer). Destroyer has also sent scores of Mechanons to assault key installations in China to further stir the hornet’s nest… a plan bound to attract the ire of the Hegemon of China, Menton. After dinner with Destroyer, the heroes get together in a private bungalow to discuss their options. No one is terribly thrilled at what is about to occur – full scale war between super-powered armies. Their ‘generals’ are some of the greatest super-villains the world has ever known, and heroes are in short supply. The discussion is interrupted by the arrival of Foxbat and Mentalla, out on the town enjoying a celebration with the First Legion. Conversation is somewhat terse and guarded, as trust of the villains is not high with some of the heroes, in spite of their professed desire to liberate mankind. Mentalla and Foxbat try to smooth ruffled feathers by inviting the heroes to join the celebration… only to be interrupted by the voice of Menton.
  8. Issue Six: The Board Is Set... The team debates over whether or not to consider Destroyer’s offer. Most see him as a psychotic tyrant out for revenge and solitary rule of the world. Some see him as the only one capable of defeating the Hegemony. In the end, a small group leaves the team to join with Destroyer and keep an eye on him. Lifeguard, Blacktop, and the mysterious woman known as the Anarchist set off to meet with the Doctor. The remaining Resistance forces learn what was on the data-stick sent to Partisan by Destroyer – an outline of his plans. Partisan chalks this up to classic Destroyer arrogance, and tells the team that his next move is to turn the entire population of Dallas into a paranormal being… a super-army. Before the team can engage in further debate, alarms ring out. The base is under Hegemony attack. Compromised, Partisan sends Mr. Mighty, Brigand and Ms. Fist to safety while she defends the base with the remaining Old Guard. The situation looks grim, as the base is being attacked by the forces of Dark Seraph and Eurostar! With Partisan’s amazing vehicle known as the “Pod”, the three heroes flee their base and wind up at Neutral Ground. There, they meet the forces of a rebel Hegemony House, led by none other than Foxbat. The grinning anti-hero invites them to a private booth, where he tells them of their allegiance with Destroyer and their acts of sabotage and espionage against the Hegemony. The young heroes are soon reunited, as Lifeguard’s team travels to Neutral Ground on their way to join with Destroyer. A huge brawl erupts, with the two groups again parting ways. Foxbat is accidentally taken with the heroes! The group arrives at the wondrous home of Dr. Destroyer, buried miles below Antarctic ice. There, in a beautiful yet ancient city built by the First Race, Destroyer trains the first of many Legions for battle against the Hegemony.
  9. Issue Five: Strange Bedfellows...? Flanked by Mechanon and his war-machines, Doctor Destroyer enters the fray under a flag of truce, and expresses his desire to parley with the heroes. Wary, the heroes agree to hear him out, hoping to buy time for their fallen allies to recover and back them up. Destroyer enters a nearby building containing a cafeteria and, while preparing a gourmet breakfast for himself and any hungry heroes, discusses his return from the dead… and his goals. Seemingly a changed man, Destroyer reveals that the attack on Microsoft was to disrupt a major technological hub of the Hegemony, used to keep the teeming masses in line and under nearly constant surveillance. He reveals himself as the force behind the giant monster attacks and the ‘destruction’ of Los Angeles – actually, the teleportation of Los Angeles to an uninhabited earthlike world in a nearby star system. All attacks designed to disrupt the Hegemony… and prepare the people of the world for the return of gods. Destroyer wishes to topple the Hegemony, to restore the world and free humanity from bondage. Powerful as he is, he will need allies – and he asks the heroes to join his crusade. He even makes the offer to Gronda, Hornet and Armadillo, who swiftly join up. After leaving the heroes with the offer and a data-stick for Partisan, Destroyer prepares to teleport away. If they wish to join forces, they can leave a message for him at Neutral Ground, an extradimensional hangout for paranormals.
  10. Issue Four: Microsoft Massacre A short time after the raid on the hospital, with some of the older heroes recovering and others joining the fight, Partisan assembles the team for another dangerous mission. Another menace from the past has resurfaced: Mechanon. Leading a host of war machines, Mechanon is laying waste to the Microsoft corporate campus, and the death toll is rising quickly. The team musters, with the young heroes joined by Son of Samson, the energized super-soldier Mr. Victory, the elder mage answering to The Walker, and the superbad stretching stud known as Blacktop. Landing at the Microsoft campus, the young heroes engage the war-machines while the old guard searches for Mechanon. During the battle, a new ally arrives - a retired professional wrestler with powers beyond that of his ring persona, he is Mister Mighty. On campus to visit with his daughter, Mr. Mighty’s fists are a welcome addition, as the fight with Mechanon’s forces is beginning to take its toll on the young lions. Things get stranger with the arrival of Gronda, Hornet and Armadillo – agents of the Hegemony sent to protect valuable assets. A shaky truce is established as the battle with the machines has priority. The battle is suddenly interrupted by a huge explosion, leaving a building in ruins. Lifeguard flies to investigate, only to discover his older allies defeated by a gleaming android previously thought of as a cartoon character – Mechanon. The gold-plated villain detects the young hero, but before battle can be joined, it issues an order to its forces to cease hostilities. As a puzzled Lifeguard watches, Mechanon falls to one knee to announce the arrival of his lord and master. Doctor Destroyer.
  11. Issue Three: Recruits, Rescued As the world reeled from the loss of Los Angeles and the attacks by creatures of nightmare, Partisan’s band continued their work. A private mental-health care facility was their next target. Behind the pleasant façade of a country manor-turned hospital was a number of former superheroes under the ‘care’ of a cadre of Hegemony operatives. Old soldiers needed for Partisan’s war. The young heroes stealthily infiltrate the facility, finding a number of poorly-treated aged heroes in cells. For some, the fight left their bodies along with their sanity. For others, the fire still burned. Working together, the heroes of two ages begin to release their imprisoned brethren. Unfortunately, an alarm is triggered, and soon a battle between the heroes and the facility’s “administrators” – a villain team known as The Geodesics – breaks out. The battle is hard and brutal, and the Geodesics are swiftly defeated or driven to hiding. Fearing the arrival of more-powerful reinforcements, the young heroes evacuate their comrades to safety. Partisan takes the group of heroes to one of her well-hidden enclaves… an extra-dimensional fortress once used by the heroes of the past. Barely operational, the fortress serves as the cell’s new base of operations.
  12. Issue Two: Signs and Portents On a beautiful spring day, the city of Los Angeles simply… disappears. No mushroom cloud, no meteor impact, no colossal earthquake. It simply vanishes into thin air, leaving a huge crater behind to rapidly fill with the waters of the Pacific. No one takes credit… there is no smoking gun…just a vast new bay where the entertainment capitol of the world once sat. To Partisan, the time had come. Like it or not, the first shot in a new war had been fired. It was time to wake up slumbering heroes. Partisan’s first Resistance “cell” consisted of herself, her grand-daughter Abi (a.k.a. Ms. Fist), and two “awakened” locals – Lifeguard and Brigand. It wasn’t long before they were called to use these gifts, as a titanic monstrosity from a forgotten age rose from the depths of Puget Sound and began to assault Seattle. Partisan realized that the giant horror – humorously known as Slimo – was more than a small team of fledgling heroes could handle. Her hand forced, she sent them to Skid Row, there to find another forgotten hero, long lost in the bottom of a bottle. The sight of Slimo broke the grip of the bottle, and with the roar of an incantation, the Son of Samson walked the earth once more! As Partisan searched for Slimo’s controllers, the young heroes protected the innocent while the Son of Samson distracted the brute with punishing blows to the head. In time, Partisan seized control of Slimo and sent him back to his underwater resting place. A quiet moment for the recovering heroes was interrupted by the arrival of Hegemony forces – Gronda, the four-armed emerald amazon, and her lackeys Armadillo and Hornet. Mistaken at first as Hegemony operatives, the team left without conflict, but a suspicious Hornet discovered them speaking with Partisan… and the battle was joined. The unexpected power of Son of Samson turned the tide, and the villains retreated… for now. Later, it was learned that Seattle was but one city assaulted by titanic monsters. Many other coastal metropolitan areas were attacked, including New York City. But who was behind it all? Partisan sends one of her allies, a precocious young Prince of the undersea realm of Mu, to investigate where L.A. once was in search of an answer.
  13. Issue One: Dawn of the Resistance The Hegemony saw to it that most of the world’s superheroes were killed. Of the few remaining, most met with fates worse than death. Some were imprisoned; others studied to learn what made them tick. Some were enslaved, forced to serve their greatest enemies. Some were brainwashed and subjected to a cruel and humiliating existence at the hands of the Hegemony. But a precious few lived on, hiding in the shadows, unwilling to surrender… One such hero was Partisan. Armed with one of the world’s keenest minds, a vast fortune, and an arsenal of technological wonders, she remained off the Hegemony’s radar and slowly prepared for the day when it was time to strike back. She began to learn the secrets of the enemy, one in particular that could bring an end to the Hegemony. Partisan discovered that the Hegemony screened every newborn child for the genetic makeup required to become a paranormal human. Injections given to each child ensured that such genetic material would be suppressed indefinitely. Any undetected paranormals were quickly isolated (and often eliminated) by Hegemony operatives. Those with the potential, albeit suppressed, were documented and monitored by the Hegemony… just in case. Occasionally, the Hegemony would replenish their ranks with a new paranormal, to replace a super-villain lost to age, disease, accident, suicide, or state execution. They would carefully select the ‘new blood’, then ‘awaken’ their paranormal powers through a medical process that removed the genetic suppression. Partisan quietly acquired the ability to ‘awaken’ paranormals and began to search for soldiers to fight her upcoming war…young men and women worthy of the mantle of superhero. Working from a small coastal town in Washington, she took the fateful first step toward the next stage of her Resistance…toward waking a new generation of heroes.
  14. Issue Zero: The Story So Far... Greetings, true believers. I'm the GM, and I thought I would post some backstory and game summaries for those interested in the story of our intrepid heroes, their friends and foes. Let's begin with a little history, shall we? Thirty years ago, give or take a few… the villains won. Seven of the world’s most powerful super-villains formed The Hegemony, and divided the world up amongst themselves to use as they saw fit. They realized that the world would never accept them as leaders and that as long as resistance remained, the heroes could return. So they remade the world. Using ancient sorcery and cutting-edge super-science, the Hegemony painstakingly erased knowledge of the world-that-was. Superheroes went from reality to fiction. Whispers of a shadowy organization that really ruled the world were written off as the ramblings of the paranoid. Only a privileged few knew what really happened, and what was lost. The reign of the Hegemony wasn’t as smooth as they would have liked, however. One of their own, arguably the most powerful, had ambitions greater than they suspected. Seeing a future where seven could become one, the Hegemony acted swiftly. Combining their forces, they attacked and obliterated their former ally – Doctor Destroyer. With no one else to thwart them, they returned to the business of ruling their private empires. Decades passed, and a new century dawned. Unchallenged for so long, the Hegemony grew careless. Corruption in the ranks rose to dangerous levels, and their puppets in the “real world” governments began to clash and war with greater frequency… often without the permission of their secret masters. During such periods of chaos, the seeds of rebellion were planted, unnoticed…
