  1. Re: Cue theme music

We had a player run Foxbat for a while, (yes he did it well), He entered a charity ball, and the record that was playing scratched and suddenly"

Sir mix a lot comes on:

    [Rap]

I like big butts and I can not lie

    You other brothers can't deny

That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist

And a round thing in your face

    You get sprung

    [rap]

Dr Destroyer, easy! Holst- Mars bringer of war

This version may sum up Foxbat's insanity a little more:

  2. Re: Your Definition Of A Super Hero?

I can't believe we're having this debate when there's been a well established definition for years:

Mr. Brown: At Diversity Today, we believe it's very easy to be a hero. All you need are honesty, empathy, respect, and open-mindedness.

Dwight Schrute: Ah, excuse me? I'm sorry, but that's not all it takes to be a hero.

Mr. Brown: Great, well, what is a hero to you?

Dwight Schrute: A hero kills people, people that wish him harm. A hero is part human and part supernatural. A hero is born out of a childhood trauma, or out of a disaster, that must be avenged.

Mr. Brown: Uh, you're thinking of a superhero.

Dwight Schrute: We all have a hero in our heart

  3. Re: What Non-Fiction Book have you just finished?

Some friends of mine and I formed a book club with a focus on history/ politics/ cultural studies about 5 years ago. We've read some great ones and some real stinkers. My all-time favority book was Conspiracy of Fools, by Kurt Eichenwald about the Enron collapse. We're currently reading Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do (and What It Says About Us) by Tom Vanderbilt.

  4. Re: Totally noob question

I was in the same boat about 6 months ago and you could do what I did. I joined a game and wrote up a character using the old rules handed it to the GM who rolled his eyes and handed me the 5ER and told me to read it before coming back. Worked like a charm!

Getting back in after a long lay off lead to some odd looks when I admitted not knowing what Megascale or Millennium City was one moment, but I could recite the vulnerabilities of Classic Enemies the next.

    Good luck and have fun!

  5. Re: Odd Champions campaigns

I always wanted to play in Normalman's world. I used to collect the comics but no-one else in the group wanted to run that one.

Also a supers campain based on either The Tick or Mystery Men sounds like fun to me.

I'm in if I can play Incoherent Kid.

  6. Re: Superman

Sometime in the 80's Adventurers Club printed a DC Heroes to Champions System conversion. I ran it word for word for the Man of Steel with no personal interpretation (i.e. no Super Ventriloquism) and created a 1766 point hero under 3rd edition rules. His STR was a 150. It's amazing what you can do with a 1,413 Hero Bonus.

Cassandra, I like the first write-up as opposed to the updated version. Something about his LS and ES in Ultra Slots doesn't work for me.

  7. Re: Campaign: Classic Champions Universe

I love the idea of a Champions reboot. Empty canvas that you can populate with the established CU as you go (with changes as needed of course).

Sounds like a lot of fun. Deathstroke was one of the first games I ever ran. Good times.
