  2. Re: Jokes And one more for today... "Mister Luckless, before I pass sentence, do you have anyone you can present as a chartacter witness on your behalf?" asked the judge. "Yes, your Honor, I do." replied Mister Luckless. "Him, over there" and he pointed to a police officer. "But your Honor," sputtered the officer, "I've never met this man in my life." "Exactly," exclaimed Mister Luckles, triumphantly. "I've lived in this town for nearly twenty years and the police still don't know me. Now doesn't that show good character?"
  3. Re: Jokes A music hall entertainer is stopped by police for having a faulty break light, and on the car's back seat, is a large set of knives. The officer asks the man why he has them -- doesn't he know that it's against the law to carry knives like that. The man explains that the knives are usign in his act -- he juggles them. The officer insists that the man get out of the car to show him so he is soon standing on the side of the road performing his act. Just then, another car drives by and the driver of that car turns to his wife, saying, "Thank goodness I gave up drinking, just look how the police test you these days!"
  4. Re: Jokes A cowboy walks into a saloon wearing a paper suit and is immeadiately arrested by the sherrif for rustling.
  5. Re: Jokes Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson went on a camping trip to Dartmoor and as they lay down for the night Sherlock Holmes said, “Doctor Watson, my old friend, when you look up into the darkness, please tell me what you see.” “Well, I can see a very clear sky, there are no clouds and the stars are out in their millions. I can see the Milky Way and I believe that extra bright star over there is the planet Venus which you can see at this time of the year. I would also deduce that being such a clear night will mean that it will get quite chilly.” Watson laughed and said, “But knowing you, Sherlock, I’m sure there are many things I have missed. What have you deduced?” There was a moment’s silence and then Holmes replied, “Somebody’s stolen our tent.”
  6. Re: Jokes “Doctor, doctor, I’m so worried,” said the anxious man. “Both my wife and I have black hair, but our son’s just been born with red hair. Do you think something funny has been going on?” “Not necessarily,” replied the doctor. “How many times do you have sex?” “About 5 times a year.” “Well, there’s your answer then, you’re just a little rusty.”
  7. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? The opening credits... Ru-Ru-Ru-Russian Roulette by Toshiyuki Kimori, Meiko Nakahara from Dirty Pair (TV Series Soundtrack) The commercial break/intermission bumper (which I don't really have a title for at the moment)... And the end credits... Space Fantasy by Toshiyuki Kimori, Meiko Nakahara from Dirty Pair (TV Series Soundtrack) (Thought I'd play something different while I'm online updating a little info today.)
  8. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Rhiannon (Piano Version) by Stevie Nicks from Enchanted: The Works of Stevie Nicks (Disc 3) Ugh -- too much packing left to do, and not enough time to do it in it seems.
  9. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All) by Type O Negative from Bloody Kisses (Expanded) And for something a little more obscure: One Night in Bangkok cover by Louise Robey from Robey
  10. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? As I'm still awake, a couple more tunes, brought to you by "Random Play All": More by The Sisters of Mercy from A Slight Case of Overbombing: Greatest Hits, Volume 1 And then (Whoops, next was actually a Doors song, but I wasn't paying attention): Rooms on Fire by Stevie Nicks from Enchanted: The Works of Stevie Nicks (Disc 2) I first got this song when it was broadcast as a promo by WKGB in San Deigo, California. On my tape, the DJ mentions that the song is so new that he doesn't have the name of the song, nor the album.
  11. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul) by Meat Loaf from The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack Up next: Let's Go by The Cars from Greatest Hits (Yeah, as should be evident by now, I've picked-up a lot of 'best of' albums to help keep control over how many albums I buy.)
  12. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? The Wizard by Black Sabbath from We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll (Both of us who'd gotten canned a couple of weeks ago are back on the job -- which means I'll still have to move. The lease is ending on this place and the new place is for only two people. Oh, joy.) Pressure by Billy Joel from Greatest Hits, Volumes 1 & 2 (1973-1985) Disc 2
  13. Re: Hero System Good Idea/Bad Idea... Neat! I like that. Now if that idea had occured to me when the basic concept did back about 1983.... Good Idea: Creating a character using several of the Champions Minus items just for fun... Bad Idea: ...and showing it to your GM... Worse Idea: ...your GM approves the character and you start playing it next week in an "all fives" campaign. * * Campaign Ground Rules Sheet: Morality, Realism, Outlook, Continuity.
  14. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Carmina Burana (Introduction) by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra from The Doors soundtrack And, with an clashing of gears.... Gimmie Back My Bullets by Lynyrd Skynyrd from Gold & Platinum (CD 1)
  15. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Siege and Investiture of Baron Von Frankenstein's Castle at Weisseria by Blue Öyster Cult from Imaginos
  16. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The set doesn't include any extras, but it does have the episodes in correct order -- I picked up a copy a couple of weeks ago. Doctor Who - The Brain of Morbius Harold and Kumar go to White Castle (I'd not seen this yet, I got pestered into a viewing, but after having seen it, I don't really mind.) Doctor Who - The Lodger
  17. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? That one's been a favorite of mine from its release, I may have to turn off random and go through that album again myself. Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd from Wish You Were Here
  18. Re: Hero System Good Idea/Bad Idea... Good Idea: Occasionally taking the Activation Limitation on a power to decrease the total cost. Bad Idea: Taking the Activation Limitation on an entire character to decrease the total cost. * GM: "Segment 4, Dex 16, Activation Man, you're up." Activation Man: [Rolling many dice of many colors] "Okay, my first roll...uhh...a 17...dang, I don't activate this Phase, sorry guys." * I came up with this idea in the long and long ago, but it has not yet been inflicted upon anyone.
  19. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Just Like U Said It Would B by Sinéad O'Connor from The Lion and the Cobra Oddly enough, I'll have that job again on Monday (21 June) -- It would appear that I cannot, in fact, be replaced by voicemail. So that has kind of turned into a couple weeks of unpaid vacation. Locally we're just past nearly 24 hours without power (Ick). Why Don't You See Me? by Concrete Blonde from Walking in London
  20. Re: Hero System Good Idea/Bad Idea... Would the theme for MechaGinormica be "Robot Girl" from Was, Not Was? Good Idea: Playing a character that is a small version of Gamera in a campaign based in Japan. Bad Idea: Playing a character that is a small version of Gamera in a campaign based in Japan, with a 20-point Code Against Killing when your only real weapon is your fire breath. (That was a fun campaign, that player racked-up a higher body count than my villains did.)
  21. Re: Hero System Good Idea/Bad Idea... Or the two versions of the Red Death spell: the basic version turns the target inside-out and kills it, the demonic version turns the target inside-out and leaves the target alive. Good Idea: Playing a character modeled after Boston Blackie in a reasonably serious Pulp Hero / Justice Inc. campaign. Bad Idea: Playing a character modeled after Boston Quackie in that same campaign.
  22. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? The Friends of Mr. Cairo by John and Vangelis from The Best of John & Vangelis
  23. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? This oddly appropriate pair came up out of 'random play all': Twist Barbie by Shonen Knife from Let's Knife and Bored & Beautiful by Louise Robey from Robey (custom CD)
  24. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Lost in the Shadows (The Lost Boys) by Lou Gramm from The Lost Boys soundtrack
