  2. Re: Jokes One day, three men are out having a relaxing day fishing, when suddenly, they catch a mermaid. After hauling the mermaid up in a net, she promises that if the men set her free, she will grant each of them a wish in return. The first man doesn't believe it, so he says, "Alright, if you can really grant wishes, then double my IQ." The mermaid says, "Done," and suddenly, the first man starts to flawlessly recite Shakespear and analyze it with extreme insight. The second man is so amazed, he looks at the mermaid and says, "Triple my IQ." The mermaid says, "Done," and the second man starts reciting solutions to mathematical problems that have been stumping all of the scientists in various fields from physics to chemistry, etc.. The third man is so enthralled with the changes in his friends, he says to the mermaid: "Quintuple my IQ." The mermaid looks at him and says, "You know, I normally don't try to change people's minds when they make a wish, but I really wish you'd reconsider." The man responds, "Nope, I want you to increase my IQ times five, and if you don't do it, I won't set you free." "Please," said the mermaid, "You don't know what you're asking, it'll change your entire view on the universe. Won't you ask for something else, a million dollars, anything?" But no matter what the mermaid said, the third man insisted on having his IQ increased by five times its usual power. So the mermaid finally relented and said, "Done."

  5. Re: Obscure Research Help I've not found any direct info yet, but I have found that there is a telephone museum there. So if all else fails, contacting them might provide the information you're looking for. http://www.budapestinfo.hu/en/things_to_see/museums/telephone_museum

  8. Re: Superhero Images That worked well, didn't it? Leopardess was always a bit annoyed that she got stuck having a tail and weaver didn't.

  10. Re: Need a good name for Mind Control magic Here are two more options: Mnemnomancer — or — Cognitionist
  11. Re: Superhero Images You're both welcome. I personally can't draw anything worthwhile, so I was thoroughly impressed with the character art; with everything that's been done since..."Wow." The Hero Machine programs/sites come in handy for for we artistically-impaired, though.

  13. Re: Skills Conversion: Pre-Fifth to Fifth Edition Okay, thanks. Had it been from the 1994 book, I'd've offered the skills list from the older book. (Apologies for not being to offer the list of skills from the revised version.)

  15. Re: Superhero Images Agreed. Paula's art for the two fit perfectly. Leopardess's physical size didn't change very much upon being transformed into a feline. Weaver—on the other paw—gained some 2 feet or so of height, and other physical attributes increased accordingly. For a look at artwork she's produced more recently: http://nachtwulf.deviantart.com/ (I was also very lucky with the art for these two characters, I've got the originals.)
  16. Re: Variety of Summons From the game mechanics standpoint, I agree with ghost-angel. It serve to keep the number of demons she can summon small at first, increases naturally as she adventures across the mortal world. However, I would like to add the idea for going with the build for the power that you think would be the most fun.
  17. Re: Skills Conversion: Pre-Fifth to Fifth Edition I know this is awfully late in the day... For the skills out of Golden Age of Champions, did they come from the 1994 revised version or the 1985 original?
  18. Re: Superhero Images On behalf of the artist (Weaver's player — Hi, Paula!), thank you.

  22. Re: Superhero Images Here are character portraits for one of my past characters and one of the other PCs in the group. Both characters originally looked human; their current forms resulted from participating in the adventure Terror in the Treasures (from AC #3). Leopardess (formerly Detroit Shield) — an officer of the Detroit PD who gained powers as a teleporting energy projector after an industrial chemical accident. The original abilities have been largely replaced by more feline-specific powers after an encounter with the Orb of Power. Weaver (no name change) — a super-powered juvenile delinquent that Leopardess had been put in charge of after Weaver had been sentenced to community service as a superhero trainee. Weaver's powers weren't altered as much by the physical alterations wrought by the Orb. (She was an egoist/energy projector mix, if memory serves.)
  23. Re: Superhero Images Wow. Now *that* is cool. I'm someone who can't draw to save a life, so I do appreciate good work. Bloodbird is primarily an energy projector whose primary defenses are 25% Resistant DR and Regeneration. (I really should finish the update to 5E and post her sometime.) Sorry for the huge delay — I'm still playing catch-up after my previous computer died.
  24. Re: Your PCs might be Underpowered if... ...newborn babies have write-ups that make them equal a Viper 5-Team. ...the GM uses a 5E Mechanon character sheet for the squad Minuteman Robots that just jumped the heroes.
