  1. Re: is this legal?

soooo, in a 12 dc setting, he came up with a power that is almost double that. unfortunately the gm is strongly considering a rule that says you get to roll all the dice, then drop the lowest untill you get to the DC limit. so instead of rolling 12d6 and getting a average of 42 stun againt 30 DEF opponents (he would do 12 average stun after DEF), he would roll 22d6 and then drop the lowest making it quite likely that he would get a roll of 72 stun (average of 42 stun after DEF) thereby one-shotting 90% of villians.

Edit, this was in response to rage, before I saw Snarf's post. think I'll talk to the GM about it. as it doesn't seem right....

  2. ok, this construct seems horribly abusive, and I was sure there was some kind of rule that would forbid it but I can't find it. in a 12 dc setting someone came up with this build:

    45 strength,

    Martial Strike,

    +1 DC,

    +10d6 hand-to-hand attack

    =22 DCs

  3. how much would the psycological Limitation "not the brightest of the bunch" be worth? the only person who comes to mind is the young Goku in the show Dragonball (perticularly the begining of the series)

I can't really think how to adequatly describe it to those who haven't seen the show, Goku is completely ignorant about gender distinctions, he doesn't get most things about technology, and just doesn't really understand things right away, Unless they are fighting related ;)

  4. first rule for a GM controlled NPC: Plot device

don't worry about writing it up as a power, just say "poof, the ray hits you, but you don't feel any differant" and give the player a note saying that they just got a mystery disadvantage, and reveal it as a weakness later on, or soemthing.. no sense in writing it up if you are the GM.

  5. got any links? i wanna read the bashes, for some reason, I can't stop laughing at most I've seen (the too much math makes me crack up all the time, I remember our group ofering to let someoen play a character and when we loaned him the prequisite 14 dice, he had this look of complete dullness come over his face and said "no, that's alright", later as we got back to gaming, and he had left, we made a couple coments like "what he can't count to 84?")

PS: I do like reading other bashes, maybe they should jsut create a Database of bashes agaisnt games...

simple in the ~2k year to where bender is located, after mechanon finnaly defeated, they discovered that his desire to kill everyone was a truely great motivation to work on construction, because they could always have the possibility of making somehting to help acomplish their goal. so they stole that part of the programming to install on theri robots, whose programming later had either glitches or a self evolution,or possibly even software upgrades that removed the program, so that most of them got over the desire, but Bender, who is lazy, never and never tried to better himself, is left with the programming.

  7. actually with my limited Knowledge of the actual comic universe, I can come up with somehting, and apart from the TV shows I know almost nothing. so I'll be baseing it on that version of teh characters...

Braniac, whos mission is to gather information, then destroy the world also rebuilds himself all the time, but one time when he transmits the data, it taeks a interdimensional trip, and loses some data along the way, it finds its way into Pym's new invention, but it lost the information gathering stage of the info, and is left with only the destroy the world phase. After countless defeats, Ultron decides that if he can not destroy this world, he will send himself to another world, figuring that whichever one suceeds can transmit how they managed it back to the other so that they can suceed too. however, there is no adamantium to build himself out of, so after the first version is destroyed, he is made out of weaker materials.

I especially want a better Change Environment" description. But somet things, like regeneration and Aid and what-not, Ill keep 4th ed. That article about the differences was very, very helpful...thanks.

I think the main thing not making me go 5th easily is that not only do I have all 4th ed suppliments (and too many bills to warrant spending mad loot again), but my friend thats getting into my Fantasy Hero game just bought the 4th ed book off Ebay... and he'd curb-stomp me if I suddenly switched.

    :)

    Thanks again, folks.

in general 4th and 5th are compatable, the average character has minimal changes needed

  9. ah, back, it wasn't mechanon, just a rookie over reacting, it was just a thug who got his hands on some power armor.

yes, that speedster did the best he could i think, I'll start searching for them now, don't worry though, Grond's wrapped up so tight HE would never break out of it. it's what i use against the strongest of my opponents, they can never get free untill i release them, or they force themselves to believe with everything that they are, that there are no bonds. plus I'mm not taking my eye off of him.

well, I'll go searching for those heroes, hopefully I'll find them, if i don't find them todday, I'll have to drop Grond off at Stronghold...

if anybody has rumors to their location, let me know, it might help me find them, I'm wearing my wrist computer so just send me a PM and I'll get it.

    Meteor Man.

  10. Well, I'm back, eurostar was at it again. I stopped their plan, but unfortunately they managed to get away. meanwhile, I found Grond, have him wrapped up right here, what do you guys think? Should i go ahead and take with me for the Newbie's training session before i turn him in?

as to that talk show guy, hey, I serve the people, I try to help keep the other supers in line, and make sure they don't destroy as much as the villians. I keep my real Identity secret becuase i have enough villians who want to kill me, if they find out who i am, they can guess who my friends and family are and ruin even more of the city to get back at me. why put others in danger just because they know me?

Well, I'm getting another call, sounds like Mechanon is at it again....

    Meteor Man.

  11. Looks like I need to pay these so called heroes a visit, if they don't take to my.... training courses, they'll have to have a little talk with mister power ring. too bad i was on the other side of the world at that time, grond's a pushover if you know what to do. sure, he may be practically undestroyable and really strong, but just fly him up into a degrading orbit, it'll be a while before he troubles MC again. well, I'm getting a call, I'll come back after it. and I'll see if i can find grond if i have the time, maybe I can use him for the newbies' lessons...

    Meteor Man

  12. ok, I'm runnning a playbyweb campaign, I have one PCwhose player likes seeing her in helpless situations like being grabbed and entangled and captured (the PC loses most of her powers when grabbed or entangled)

but here's the problem, since it is a PBW campaign it is possible we wouldn't resolve he being freed till over a week has passed. plus since i don't like doing that to characters much anyway, I need Ideas since, the group mainly stays together most of the time and don't know why the enemy would capture the Character anyway...

so could the Herodom help give me some Ideas to use?

  13. I wrote up a character who used a ugly stick as hish main weapon, wth was some extra HA and the drain Com, i had made it linked so you could drain withouth damaging them, but if he hit them with damge, he still drained them...

his battle cry? "Time to get Ugly" :D

too bad i lost his sheet, he was actually a pretty good character...

  14. ok, I dunno that this is really the right place to post this, but I figure since it will be a Champs game I wanna do, its as good as any...

anyway, I am tentatively thinking of running a oneshot supers game at our local convention (Radcon, it runs on Valentines weekend, so have plenty of time) but, i run into a few problems:

one: I'm not a legion of heroes member dude, so is there anything special i would need to do?

two: well, I dunno if i need to do somehting like contact the people who run radcon, though I suspect the answer is gonna be somewherte on teh radcon website, so I'll have to figure it out myself

three: what kind of mission should i do? i know i should write up some characters to let people choose from, and have a few villians, but other than that, I can't think of anything, where to start them out, mission ideas, how to end...

so I think those are all my problems, any suggestions or Ideas?
