Re: A Robert E. Howard moment..... Sure... I'll play. So: Kull is a tiger... Conan is a lion... Solomon Kane is a wolf... Bran Mak Morn is a panther... El Borak is a hawk... and Sailor Steve Costigan is a walrus... (and) Breckenridge Elkins is a grizzly. I say Red Sonya whips them all into a circus act until they die of broken hearts.
And Agnes do Chastillon kicks Sonya's arse in a fencing duel.

Well, from The Question Man, what sig could be more appropriate?

"Beware! For I am the rake in the lawn of crime!"
Although that might make them burst out laughing instead of cowering.

He's here all week, folx...

I love it. It's hilarious..... it's even better than the generic map in Dianne Wynn-Jones' Toughpick Guide to Fantasyland and much funnier.

So would I.

Very good, Arc.

The direction Vladimir Putin is taking Russia could spark all sorts of reactions from the various CU heroes and villains of Russia, who have varying attitudes and allegiances to current Russian politics and the former Soviet empire.
Personally, I think Putin is fronting for Molnya.
I dunno about Putin fronting for Molnya, but that was my thought too - that Red Winter, or elements thereof, could be acting as agents provocateurs, or pro-Russia mercenaries in the Crimea/Ukraine (and may have been busy in Chechnya, if it dates that far back).

Yeah - I think I would prefer the old Master Key S system for that reason. The first things I thought when I saw that were "Where's the grip" and "Isn't the trigger too close to the muzzle?" Set the trigger further back and that's a cute system, though.

I believe it was Socrates who said he behaved well because that he believed he had a daimon whose good opinion was worth having.
*lightbulb* Which means Jiminy Cricket was Pinocchio's daimon, only corporeal.

*rubs his hands gleefully* Bring 'em on!

"There is no overkill, there is only "open fire" and "reload" ," dates back to Vietnam, I believe. Or it could be earlier than that.

For a foot chase through downtown Tokyo, or other Japanese city:

If I wanted a rifle based on the M16/M4, I'd go for this sweetheart. Good enough for the US Navy's DEVGRP, good enough for me.

All good pics, but I love the homage to Miyazaki's "Castle of Cagliostro".

Great quotes from everybody. I love the MJ reference.

In case no-one's posted this before:

Ill believe you about the South African rejig of the M79, but if that's an bullpup AK , which the action and safety catch says it is, it's stolen its trigger guard from the QBZ, because it's identical.

Sergeant Fogg is the best. Or, maybe a demotion, but "Constable Fogg" also works. Or how about "Bobby Fogg"? r that could be too modern.

i saw this yesterday and thought it looked awesome http://imgur.com/r/GunPorn/tuY50Z3
I don't recognise the blunderbuss in the second image, but isn't the first pic a "tacticool" version of the Norinco QBZ-95?

And don't forget Plato's Dialogues, especially Timeaus and Critias. It's where the Atlantis myth first gets mentioned after all.

I would use
for a helo-bourne SWAT team take down. And the sound tracks from Michael Mann movies would fit, too. Tangerine Dream did the sound tracks for Thief and The Keep, although getting hold of that one is problematic, since the most complete version is a bootleg. The soundtrack to Heat is amazing, as well.

Serpico should look like Al Pacino.
