  1. Re: Unworkable Premises for a Campaign

The X-Wives Club: Sentinel was Earth's most powerful hero since the year 1939' date=' when he began his career. He fell in love with that spunky girl-reporter but there was a problem. Earth women were so...breakable. It was a problem his alien technology could fix. They got married and lived happily for a good six years. Then came a bad three years, and a divorce. After her there was the heiress, the athlete, the cop, the mermaid, the model, even the burglar. Each of them married him for years or months, and each of them eventually was left by him. Although they didn't have his dizzying array of powers and cosmic powerlevels, they had enough durability and muscle that they wouldn't be injured by a careless motion in the throes of passion. That they also gained some incidental powers expressing their interests was a nice side-effect. That they gathered together in a kind of club with the only women they could talk to freely about their past and present was only natural. And when he dropped out of sight...well someone had to fill the gap...[/quote']

You should umm sell this to a tv network...

  2. Re: Sentry

How long has the current chief editor been around for?

Joe "i am a freaking moron" Quesada became the editor in chief of marvel in 2000. The genius who brought us Civil War, the death of Captain America, Tony Stark turning villain (Note: he hired a Russian Supervillain to attack him while he was in congress, and that entire launch the hulk into space with out having legal right to do so) and retconing Spiderman's marriage because he felt that marriage was a 'problem'

Oh, did I mention I really really don't like this man?

  3. Re: Sentry

I missed that issue, when was this?

    Thanks

    QM

P.S.: Has anyone else noticed the lack of character developement in The Avengers stories lately? I mean, what happened to their daily lives. Why is Iron Man around at all and not attending to his Duties as CEO ot Stark International, Head of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Liason with the Government for the Initiative?

Will you except "Because the current editor in chief of marvel has little idea what he's doing" as an explanation?

For the record..I despise the man.

  4. Re: I'm guessing Mercedes Lackey plays City of Heroes

{scratches head' date=' clicks "X" on browser windows} Ok...and this is what exactly? A podcast spin off of a CoH supergroup with the mild curiosity value of being hosted by a fantasy writer? Did I miss anything?[/quote']

Secret World is a series of podcast 'chapters' outlining a superhero world (not connected to COH at all) its very very well done (in my view aways)

  5. Re: Anime series as a campaign

As I hear it, Otomo wasn't even close to down with the manga, so he spun it out into his sown storyline.

I'd love to see an extended OVA series of 1 hour episodes that covered the full magna.

I have to admit I haven't read most of the actual Manga, I know that like most movies based off books there are always changes. (El Hazard dropped semi-inportant characters from the cast)

But yes I too would love an extended OVA

  6. Re: Anime series as a campaign

I can see that. It certainly was ground-breaking' date=' in that [i']Akira[/i] totally turned the West's idea of what anime was about on it's head.

Would love to see a remake or better yet series based on it, as great as the movie was, it tried to cram way to many 'graphic novels' into one 2 hour flick.

  7. Re: Anime series as a campaign

Not sure if these have been mentioned.. would be surprised if they haven't.

Akira (Cyberpunk with huge does of psionics... pretty much the grand daddy of all anime)

Lain (This...would be very very difficult)

I once tried to run a Teen Martial artist Monster hunting game on Openrpg.

Unforunitly the game kinda fell down and went boom...

  8. Re: Civil War in the Champions Universe!

I have to jump onto the "I hate civil war" bandwagon.. it amazed me that marvel finaly found a way to top thier Spiderman clone bit as the worst idea in comic history....

I am just hoping that someone finds out Tony Stark paid a russian supervillian to attack congress....and then tries him for treason.

Only way they can fix this one is to borrow superboy and have him start hitting the walls of reality...:smoke:
