ABSOLUTELY!! I'm a big fan of tutorials so please send away. I'm also trying to amass some for Poser and Bryce if you have any to offer.

Sent the links in your email thingy.. as to bryce..Some of the best I have seen are on the daz3d website

  2. Re: Superhero Images

I use Hexagon as well. That is probably why I haven't pursued other modelers. I'm still trying to learn it as well though. Those others look interesting though.

I lucked out and found a couple very very good tutorials for making cloths in Hexagon - I can send you the links if you want.

  3. Re: Superhero Images

I agree Tamashii2000! I'm still learning Poser, but I'm starting over and trying to learn it the right way and from the beginning. Daz|Studio is definitely the way to go for folks that don't want to invest the money and there are actually some features of D|S that are better than Poser.

Can you give me a link to wings3d and blender? I don't believe I'm familiar with those.

I personaly use Hexagon for my modeling but you have to buy that from daz3d,

Wings3d is free and very good I used it before I got Hexagon: http://www.wings3d.com

Blender is opensource and I have heard good things about it althrough I haven't used it myself: http://www.blender.org

  4. Re: Superhero Images

Daz|Studio is a free version of Poser, and with either wings3d or blender (both I do believe are free) you can pretty much custom make your superhero/villians as need... as long as you have lots and lots of patients..

    '

    learning curve can be.... steep.

  5. Re: Genocide

Yeah, fair point. Bad example on my part, but I failed my KS: Marvel Universe roll and couldn't think of a "known mutant" who wasn't an X-Man. :)

You know, in a strange way I think most of the Mutant hating in marvel is the Xmen's fault. Think about it.. you have a group dedicated to good mutant/human relations.. but the team has nothing but mutants on it.. and at least 20 percent of the group... are ex-villians.

What the HECK was Pro X thinking?

  6. Re: Genocide

I never said that the decision was impossibly unlikely' date=' just monumentally stupid.[/quote']

Actualy Marvel has dealt with the entire 'franklin' bit a few times - Richards monitored his son during and after the birth (Franklin has been around for a long long time, I think early 70's).

The FF has almost broken up at least once because Reed decided to dampen Franklin's power (with a rather large gun) when he started getting out of control. Franklin is powerful enough to one shot major demons and has gotten Eternities attention at least once.

now Thier daughter (name escapes me) I don't know if she has any powers

  7. Re: Wow....that is a useless power for sure....

Actually, that was the guy Pyre-Archer mentioned. He was a lounge singer who specialized in songs with colors in the title and he'd change color to match.

During an interview he said "If I'm an Ace, I'd hate to see a Deuce", coining the term.

He committed suicide after being blacklisted during the McCarthy Hearings.

(It's so sad that I didn't even have to look that up.)

Heh - teaches me to post something before I have read all the messages......:P

  8. Re: Real World Stuff That Only Sounds Like A Comic Book

as it was put so well in Men in Black, supermarket tabloids make great adventure source material...

Art Bell and his Coast to Coast late night radio show make for some great ideas too, and some really scary callers at times

    http://www.coasttocoastam.com/

hes also had guests like George Takei and Dean Koontz, so its not all out in left field.

the people who call Art Bell (George Norry now adays hosts the show through)

    realy realy realy scare me.....

  9. Re: Wow....that is a useless power for sure....

One of the bit-characters in the old Wild Card books had the abilty to cause soft lights to strobe around him as he played the piano.

    now..thats...a useless power.

(he was actualy fairly well known as a statement he made resulted in anyone in the wildcards universe who had simular 'useless' powers being named a Duece)

  10. Re: City of Heroes: Freedom Phalanx

Ah' date=' I see. Sorry, I misinterpretted your sentiment as rancor. States does play a little hardcore but *spoilerfree* there's things going on. If anything Maticore is the more rigid charatcer portrayed. This book is how the group reformed in the '80s with the pre-Rikti War line-up.[/quote']

Well truth be told..there is a 'tiny' bit of rancor there. But no, I was wondering if they kept his personality consistant. Althrough - pre-Rikti... I think that Maticore might be the current ones father.

  11. Re: City of Heroes: Freedom Phalanx

    Where does that come from?

Sorry to disappoint but they don't. KS, I enjoyed the book too. Have you read the first in the series, Web of Arachnos?

The Comic - States comes off a bit......... poorly in it. Esp where Mantacore is concerned, not long ago he 'suspended' Mantacore, took his bow and broke it.

(Coarse - early in the series Mantacore did put a arrow through Statesman's chest...)

  12. Re: City of Heroes: Freedom Phalanx

I normally avoid liscenced fiction like the plague, but I stopped at Barnes & Nobles last night on the way home and browsed around. Finding nothing interesting, on the way out noticed the City of Heroes fiction book and saw that Robin D. Laws was the author so I picked it up and flipped thru a few pages.

The writing was suprisingly engaging, so I bought it and read about 3/4's last night until my wife forcibly took the book out of my geeky little hands sometime between 1 and 2.

Personally I particularly like two characters: Manticore (a hard boiled character that kind of mixes Hawkeye and Batman) and Synapse (a speedster / blaster).

Anyway, so far so good; I think any Champions players out there would probably like it.

Long as they paint Statesman as being a complete and utter pr#ck.

  13. Re: A phaser in hero

    480 points?!?!

Holy xxxxing sacred mother of god, I'm barely into the 5e rulebook and I know that's more than most characters cost!

A while back (in digital hero) Steve long created a power that could stop and rewind time - if made into a machine (focus limitation added) it would cost someplace around....

    5000 points

  14. Re: A Question of Utmost Importance

Considering that Mjolnir was supposed to be so heavy that only Thor was strong enough to lift it' date=' I'd love to watch Foxbat just try to claim it. :snicker:[/quote']

I believe that not being able to lift the hammer was a marvel invention- The norse myths include a time Loki stole the hammer and gave it to giants, then when he reliezed what a mistake he had made he convinced Thor to wear a dress as part of the plan to get it back....:P

  15. Re: How to end a dystopia...

This one requires a little more detail, please. Obviously, the powerful are going to (largely successfully) limit the cutting-edge military/police tech to themselves only. It doesn't take much introspection to realize that MetalStorm weapons in the hands of a bunch of pissed-off have-nots is going to end in a revolution, so the haves are going to put a lot of value in seeing that that doesn't happen.

So, what kind of technologies can be underestimated by the powerful, and used effectively by the underclasses?

I don't expect an airtight argument here, since this sort of thing can vary wildly from game world to game world. Just ideas that will pass a casual "common sense" test.

Sometimes the 'haves' don't catch on that the 'have nots' are angry or the reasons behind them - Otherwise a certian french queen would never have said "let them eat cake" to a rather angry little crowd

  16. Re: Champions Universe Movie Casting Call

For Doctor Destroyer, whether animated or live-action, I nominate Michael Clarke Duncan.

    For Foxbat, Robin Williams.

For Mechanon -- even though I'll probably be chastised for this -- Peter Davison.

    Actualy... Peter Davison.... Talos.

  17. Re: Champions Universe Movie Casting Call

I thought about who would do the voice work for the likes of Takofanes or Mechanon. Alan Rickman sprang to mind for Takofanes. That or get the guy who did the voice of Skeletor from the old Master of the Universe cartoon. I have no ideas for Mechanon' date=' really. I always sorta imagined him sounding like Soundwave from the 80's Transformers cartoon.[/quote']

I wouldn't even have Mechanon bother talking.. All (very bloody) action for him.

  18. Re: Champions Universe Movie Casting Call

Well, he's already got the properly distorted build for it.

And what about the Rock or Mick Foley/Mankind as Bulldozer?

And here's a tough one: who should voice Takofanes?

    Bulldozer: (Stone Cold) Steve Austin

    Foxbat: Paul Rubin (Maybe)

Takofanes should be CGI - But for his voice... The guy who did the voice for Goliath from Gargoyles.
