  1. Re: Soundwave vs. Blaster

Rebirth was supposed to have been 5 episodes but at the last minute had to be reedited down to 3. Plus it had bad animation (wrong colors' date=' wrong characters, etc). The deux ex machina of Spike reversing the polarity of a rocket was the worst thing save for the creepy relationship between Daniel and Arcee. I think if it could have been kept at the intended length, some of the plot problems would not have happened. But ultimately they should have ended with Return of Optimus Prime or gone with a complete 4th season.[/quote']

I agree that they should have gone through with a full 4th season.

    No, Rebirth wasn't perfect.

I still think it was better than Headmasters.

Well, I don't know if I'd call it 'depression' as opposed to just general disinterest. It's like most anything when it comes to how you spend your free time; if you think you'll have more fun doing A than B, you generally do A.

In other news, I need to stop taking phone calls until I've been awake for 30 minutes. My mom called and woke me up, went off on a rant, and that filter between my brain and mouth wasn't operating ...

  4. Re: The cranky thread

We had a rpg group that had gotten together on Saturdays for years. We took one summer as a hiatus because of various real life issues and we never got back to it. We have frequent game nights however with board' date=' card and video games. And the missus is setting up to reboot rpgs on a different day, so I hope that works out.[/quote']

Maybe ... the thing is, me ... I'm not sure I care anymore. I don't even feel bad that we don't do RPGs anymore. Heck, some weeks, I only go just because it feels like an obligation ... I'd rather just stay home and putz around on the Internet or something than drag myself out of the house.

Ordinarily, we'd gather tonight for socializing and recreation, but the weather will probably forbid it.

I can't say 'get together to game', because we hardly ever do RPGs anymore. Most of the group seems okay with that, but one guy ... I feel sorry for him. The writing is on the wall; none of the three formerly-regular GMs in the group have run more than one game in the last three or four, maybe six, months. We all have health issues, work issues, life issues ... it's over. I will be VERY surprised if Jeff or I ever run a game again, and my wife only runs one when she feels guilty about it. But he keeps asking. And asking.

I'm really starting to wonder who's going to be the one to finally just sit him down and tell him that it's over ... and at the same time, wondering how it is he hasn't caught on yet.

  6. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore

I have to ask about a classic bit of American cuisine: Who is eating the Filet-o-Fish?

I think it sounds, and looks, absolutely repugnant, yet it's one of the most popular sandwiches at McDonald's. I recall that whenever I was in a group of four or more going to McD's, at least one person chose it. Now they have the Fish Bites, and I'm just boggled. Am I missing something?

I order one occasionally. Sometimes I just get a craving for fish, and I'm nowhere near a LJS or don't want to go to a nice place and spend 10+ bucks for it. I have to special-order it, though ... bun toasted instead of steamed, and light on the tartar sauce.

  7. Re: How to build a duel wield attack

I found the same thing about 5e' date=' some changes were annoying (ie Regen), [/quote']

That's what House Rules are for. I still use 4e Regeneration and Always On Growth/DI/Shrinking in my 5e games ... along with the 6e half-d6 Stun Multiplier. :)

  8. Re: Multipower Variable Slots, ever use one?

    Character concept over mini-maxing points.

Iron Man's Strength, EB, and Flight all draw from a common power source. To use any at full power, he has to shut down the other two. He can't fly at full speed carrying a heavy object. He has to land to put everything into his EB.

I would build this as all of them coming out of the same END Reserve, personally.

  9. Re: Most PCs...

The only way I see the OP being true is if you're playing fairly loose with what players can do with Powers and not getting stuck too far into the details of "you didn't buy that specific power/advantage" - which isn't to say you should always let players get away with doing things not paid for with points' date=' but the game should allow more and interesting uses of powers since you'll either see a heavy load of them with too many Limitations, or a complete lack of interesting creativity.[/quote']

And thus, the Power skill. :)

  10. Re: What powers do these guys have?

    Baby Blue: Shrinking

    Black Hole: Graviton manipulation

    White Dwarf: Density Powers

    Void Indigo: Desolidification

Crimson Tide: Water jets as primary offense; must operate out of Alabama. Roll Tide.

Blue Moon: Crescent shaped blades both wielded and shuriken-style

    Green Thumb: Plant control

    Red Tape: Sticky Entangles. :D
