  1. Re: Fortune favours the brave

I dont mind people not liking my Ideas, however knowing why would be interesting. Is it the general concept, the mechanics? Any suggestions?

What turns you off about it?

I don't want to put words in people's virtual mouths, but I think he said he did like it.

I do like the Faith idea above my post...
  2. Re: One Last 6E Preview: The Covers!

I like the covers, the colors remind me of the BBB in some ways, and I'm fine with a minimalist cover design. A slight color or contrast difference would have been nice to make them easy to distinguish on a shelf or in a pile, but I'm sure I'll be able to get by. I'm really looking forward to purchasing them as soon as they're available.

  3. Re: Telepathic race with no other sensory organs

Tangental note: this would be a bitch of a thing for any GM to actually have to deal with. Too easy to slip up and assume normal sight. Good luck with that one.

Back to the discussion. Spatial Awareness based on mental perceiving other mental signals? Some sort of Detect/Sense with Targeting and Discriminatory etc? Is the species mobile? How do they keep from running into walls? No ability to sense pressure change? Temperature change?

I will say that I had this neat idea, just now, of a predatory plant that primarily sees through the eyes of a symbiotic species that lives in the environs nearby. Thanks for the inspiration! Another reason for one of the characters to hate planets.

That is both wicked cool and quite believable given the number of symbiotic relationships that occur in the natural world.

I would rep you but gotta spread it around first.

  4. Re: Top 5 Favorite 5E Supplements

Thanx' date=' phookz! I was actually thinking of making that list myself, you just saved me some time. ;) Take +2 XP out of petty cash![/quote']

Woot! Now I can finally get that extra point of DEX I've been saving up for. Hmm, with 6E on the horizon maybe I'll just sit on that XP and see how best to spend it with the new edition. ;)

  6. Re: Fantasy Star Wars.

    Fantasifying quotes :)

"Luke: You know, I think that R2 golem we bought may have been stolen.

Uncle Owen: What makes you think that?

Luke: Well, I stumbled across a geas while I was cleaning him. He says that he belongs to someone named Obi-Wan Kenobi. I thought he might have meant old Ben. Do you know what he's talking about?"

"Princess Leia: [in a magic mirror] General Kenobi: Years ago, you served my father in the Demon Wars; now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father's request to you in person; but my ship has fallen under attack and I'm afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I've placed information vital to the survival of the rebellion into the spells that maintain this R2 golem. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this golem safely delivered to him in Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope. "

"Dr. Evazan: I don't like you either. You just watch yourself. We're wanted men. I have the death sentence on twelve kingdoms. "

Must spread rep around blah blah blah...

  7. Re: Beholder

    Why duplication?

    Why not followers?

    Lucius Alexander

Pondering defining the palindromedary as a duplicate.....

My initial reaction to this was that a follower doesn't necessarily do what it's told, but looking at the rules they can be considered slavishly loyal, so then I thought maybe that could be valid. However, the rules for Duplication have specific verbiage under the Cannot Recombine (-0) limitation that explicitly cover simulating a body with multiple parts that can attack or function semi-independently.

  8. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

Ok. that seems to happen with my laptop. It's Vista. I can even see the images where you quoted me. I'll repost from my desktop.

    Darn you Vista!!

Weird because I saw all of them.

    /shrug

You do really nice work Heckus - I would Rep you again, I have to spread it around yadda yadda.

  9. Re: Shadowsoul's Monster Corner

    Two thoughts-

    1) A Haunt based upon the image of a lone policeman walking deserted alleys, blacktops, and parking lots at night. Ostensibly on patrol to make sure the area is clear, he really is looking for people in danger/seeking to harm another... and that´s who he attacks/feeds on. The victims AND the perps. Something about creating hope and then crushing it...

    2) A non-Haunt. Some sort of magical creature (looks like a person) whose very presence turns ANY promises made into a magically binding geas. Imagine anytime someone (playfully or in anger or carelessness) says something like ¨I swear, if I hear that one more time, I´ll kill myself/you/her¨ and things along that line. Now, is the creature malicious and delights in the havoc it wreaks and enjoys watching people be harmed like this... or is it simply trying to live its life and actually wants to AVOID this sort of situation (which would make it´s life a bit tragic)? Of course, occasionally the ability does good (whether the creature wants it to or not). The point is ALL promises become binding, regardless of intentions.

I really like the Haunt ideas that have been posted on this board. These two are also very good. The non-Haunt is something that we've seen the effects of in various movies, TV shows, etc. It reminds me of BIG, or the Freaky Friday movies, or something along those lines.

  10. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

Soliloquy of the Hunter of Souls:

"I will drink your soul! Hahahahaha! And after that nobody on Earth will withstand my power. The era of men has come to an end. The era of suffering is about to begin. Your friends and family shall witness my rise and only then will I be so gracious to devour their souls too!"

    Awesome soliloquy! Repped

  11. Re: Book Translator Spells

You are technically not actually translating the book with the Minor Transform spell' date=' all it is doing is changing the words into a different language. If you copy word for word a book written in Latin, Hebrew, Spanish, whatever, your gonna have one heck of a time figuring out what they are talking about.[/quote']

I think that really depends on the SFX of the transform. It's not unreasonable to define it as "Book into translated Book".

  12. Re: Half-Golem?

It does sound pretty cool. Pulling it off requires some finesse and players that are willing to play in that kind of game. A lot of people would feel like they are being railroaded, and some don't like that. I would love a game like that if it was done right - destiny is tough to do in roleplaying games.

  13. Re: Arcane Archer Type Character

You could go the multipower route for the shots, and have a Focus limitation, expendable, for the ammunition (Imbued Arrows). The arrows are easy to obtain since the character can create them with the Imbue Arrow spell, and you can use an Imbued Arrow for any of the powers in the MP, so you don't have to walk around with a quiver full of Flame Arrows.
