winterhawk
Since the interest in my live campaign is waning (Don't ask), I've been contemplating trying to run a PBEM campaign and was wondering if anyone has participated in any good ones. I am curious how things like character interaction take place, die rolls (if they are even used), etc. Thanks in advance for your comments. Mayday
I've been considering this for awhile also. I've never run one but the way I understand them to go is that you write up what happens, send it out and they send back what they do, you compile it all together and repeat. Combat I think you dice out yourself because otherwise youd never finish one. Probably better to do it on a certain night over AIM or bouncing Emails Id think. Or a chat room or even better, TeamSpeak.
Chuckg
AIM chat is very nice, that's how I'm playing now. Of course, it's frustrating as all get-out when AIM chooses game night to have hiccups.
Pulsar
I've played on several PBEM and PBP games I prefer the Play By Post since it is easier to keep track of. one free site I found was a roleplay online site I don't have the address handy but it is a good site I had a game up on it for a while but I did not get enough interest to make the effort worth while. The bigest problem with PBEM games is the level of message traffic, especially if you get more than 5 or 6 people playing, and waiting for the posts. It make take a week to play a 45 second scene. ShelleyCM
A long time ago, I ran PBEM games. I wrote a quick-n-dirty guide for how I handle it for Rogues' Gallery, and ultimately ended up posting it. http://mactyre.net/shelley/pbem.html (Yes, I have a page for everything. Really.) -Shelley
