  1. Re: WWYCD: We hope you're feeling better now Well for Pulsar there would be a few issues, first he was a Nano tech enhanced super soldier before he was was vaped in a nova bomb explosion and a Zero point reactor exp;losion that gave him his powers in another reality where his 'Earth' is about 150 years more advanced than this one. So IF he was normal again he would be a serious threat due to the nano tech. If somehow he had no Nano tech or the powers he has had for a couple of decades he just might be relieved, but by having his memories intact would raise a big question mark. He would either cut himself or ask for a blood test, either there would be a major radiation burst or real blood. the doctor could not have his uniform since it is solidified energy that is part and parcel of his powers.
  2. Re: WWYCD Genocide - or Genocide? I'd be a bit conflicted about this scenario, first while Pulsar can kill he prefers not to and tries very hard not to. push come to shove he would kill, while he cannot kill hordes in a single blast he is powerful enough to do real damage and he would probably hit thier ships first. The scenario offers some questions that he would feel the need to investigate, such as why attack earth? what is the reason for the xenophobia? If he finds that they just are destroying civilizations 'because'. then he may well decide to give them a reason to have xenophobia and to ensure that they have no way to leave thier home planet(s).
  3. Re: WWYCD: Dead Enemies are no fun. Pulsar being half composed of energyreally does not or canot party to excessm and since his 'secret' hideout is in the asteroid field, would review the security tapes to make sure that he had been where he thinks he was, and then contact SHIELD, send a copy of the files to them saying that he was not even on the planet at the time, (which should be a pretty decent alibi). He would also tell SHIELD that if he delibrately killed someone they woud be disassociating atoms and would be a bit hard to find. Pulsar would figure that since the nemesis was dead and a serious threat to this reality then whoever killed him should get a medal.
  4. Re: Retcon the CU My main issue is the Magic created supers idea, In my hero universe magic and supers are two different things. The supers came after the Tonguesta (sp) expolosion, that sent a wave of unkown radiation around the world in rare cases causing a mutation that allows super powers, though the rate of mutation did increase over the next couple of generations. Magic has always been there, though the ritual did open the valve further. There are few who can truely wield the power that is of the will, the word and the way. Also for me the idea of "monster island" is a joke. Millinium city is fine but not caused by Dr. Destroyer, and its not Detroit. Since the supers don't disappear in 2020 or so, I believe that it opens more 'classic' superhero ideas, time travel, and various possible future episodes where certain recurring villians appear and confuse the poor heros.
  5. Re: Please Suggest Names for a Hulk Tribute Character Considering the Hulk I'd name the tribute 'Smash'. I like the simple sound and it is what he does.
  6. Re: HERO system observations and beefs To throw my opinion into the pot, I have only one problem with the Hero game. The last time I played Champions was WAY back in 2nd edition, I picked up the 5th edition book and the Champions book, and was overwelmed by the cascade of options available. I have not goten the revised book yet, but the one thing I have trouble with is how best to organize the character creation options, it seems to me that there is no real 'here is how to create a character'. Maybe for those who play frequently it is easier and I am a fan of the game just because it has so much to offer. but I find myself daunted in the detail of the game.

    Wwycd? #82

Re: Wwycd? #82 Pulsar would have been in space shortly after the first attack, and a few AP ranged ka's later the Sats would not be able to shoot anything anymore.
  8. Re: WWYCD #115: Xerox Paradox...Baby Blues! The Factory once located woudl go BOOM, The "children" would be harder, if Evil was hardwired into them so to speak, then they would have to be taken care of. If there was a chance that they would not automatically be evil then they would have to be cared for.

    The Event

Re: The Event I'm working on a PBP/PBEM game that will have the characters trying to find out what happened to 2 mainline hero teams, who were attacked and apparently killed at the same time, and which also destroyed a good chunk of Chicago. This would be the biggest "event" that I have run in any of the game systems.
  10. Re: High End Cannoical Character in Champions Universe In my opinion, having higher level heros is to be expected, as far as having heros overshadowed by an 800 or 1000 point hero does not make sense. Is Batman overshadowed by Superman? Does Thor overshadow Captain America? It seems to me that at least in the comics hero groups are not all one level but everyone contributes thier best and because of that they triumph, usually against opponents or odds that they should not be able to, in the comics that is thier strength, diversity. Every hero or group has a niche, and the higher powered heros protect the planet or the reality, where as the lower level heros protect a city or even just thier block. As heros grow they protect more growing to possibly a state or region, to the country, to the big leagues where they are welcomed later. To assist a higher level hero might be a major adventure, or they may get involved when the big leaguer gets whalloped and they come to assist, even if its to take the heat off for a moment so he can "get his breath" and get back into the fight.
  11. Re: Gentlemen Start Your Engines When I was running Marvel Super heros RPG, I would sometimes start a campaign by having the heros working individually, with some perhaps being friendly. After a couple of games to get them used to the game I would start throwing threats at them that would require cooperation between them. and later suggest that they form a team. To me that made the team a more natural thing, and from the players, they felt the same way.
  12. Re: What Would Your Character Do? #64: Shooting Star Pulsar would not have quit for the night, but besides that, he would have taken samples from the impact site and had them analyzed at the campaign super science lab. Upon seeing the casual destruction of the idiot, he would either follow the "man" and/or call reinforcements and draw it out to an area that would minimize the collateral damage if possible. When the collateral damage was minized he would attempt to communicate with it and if a hostile attack resulted then "Its clobber'in time".
  13. Re: So, Who Else Is Gonna Grab Galactic Champions ASAP?? Small voice jumping up and down, I will, I will. I am getting back into the books and I eagerly await the book.
  14. Re: What would your character do (65?) -Recruiting pitch Pulsar would contact them and if they could convince him that a threat was real would join them, but he does play for keeps when the stakes are high and is not the best team player being something of a loner.
