Re: Looking for ideas for my campaign (Danger: Long)

Reality Storm bringing complications and drama most maternal!

With dimensional energy lingering about here and there, the earth is currently dotted with hidden egresses into other worlds. The F4 and other hero teams are being made aware of this and doing their best to seal such spots up or drain them of energy. They aren't the only ones. Our heroes stumbled onto a young mutant gal who hoped to be a sidekick to the lovely Impact. She in turn, informed Brainwave and Impact of a strange occurance at an alley way.

They check out the dimensional rift, trying to think on how to take it down. A spider like (but human sized robot) is seen dropping a foil like antanee down into the vortex and starting to drain it. Brainwave recognizes it as belonging to Cataclysm and informs Impact of this! Impact moves quickly and yanks at the robot even as Brainwave tries to warn her this might be a bad idea! Dimensional energies that WERE Being drained instead flood the lovely Brick, and, because she is mindlinked at the time, Brainwave as well.

They find themselves in Backworld, or at least a version of it. Here, Professor Protector has seemingly fallen after struggling against this world's villainous Fab Four and the Champions of Evil! An unholy alliance has formed between the super villain teams, each has taken over their own city and spreading. Brainwave and Impact see first hand the evil done to this Chicago and how it has suffered under their counterselves' rule. The details are too ugly to mention, but Brainwave relaizes that this world MUST have a Cataclysm, and she and Impact head to the lab where they last met her in their world. There, they find signs that lead to Redemption, this world's Dr. Rochelle Peters. Where Cataclysm is arrogant, Redemption is humble, where Cataclysm is ruthless, there are some things Redemption refuses to do to anyone. To their mutual surprise (But not to the GM's) Brainwave and Redemption immediately hit it off. Brainwave realizes that this world's Redemption may need an edge, and uses her mental powers (and a handy power skill roll) to CURE Redemption of the damage that prevents her from being too creative. With her innovation and imagination fully restored, perhaps Redemption will be able to carry on the good fight.

In return, Redemption measures their vibrodimensional harmonics, and tries to send them home, or at least to a closer dimension.

Our heroines now find themselves in a better chicago, a bright Shy town that is bustling, vibrant, and clean. It's also roughly 2 decades ahead of their own. The old F4 base is expanded into an almost football sized stadium of a base where the new team "The Centurians" carries on the legacy of their founders, the Fab 4. Unsure if this is their world, but in the future, or a different paralel dimension that is somehow on a faster timeline, brainwave worries about meeting herself and blowing things up reeeeal good. Still, they have to try.

The result is an education. It turns out the Centurians are indeed 100 strong, and the children of the F4 are among them. As this world's Firepower, now mostly retired but still a guiding hand behind the team explains, "Well, see, others joined, and we went to Fabulous Five, briefly, then more joined, and it as the Super Seven, and then by the time it got to the Fabulous Fifteen we decided it was just plain getting ridiculous we merged with the peacekeepers and... eventually we capped it off at 100."

Brainwave and Impact meet their respective 'future' daughters, Blister and Wrecker. Blister (who has mixed her father's and mother's powers to become a Pyrokinetic) is an outgoing actress and loves the limelight as much as her mother was shy. Wrecker is brazen and a bit foulmouthed. when Impact lectures her about consequences, Wrecker snorts about how her life was messed up enough after the divorce and such..

It would seem that Impact's marriage with Streetsmart was a rocky one.

And, when she discovers her tryst with the God Mercury lead to a child in this world, a super strong speedster calling himself Mercurial, she goes pale, for that tryst has ALREADY occured in her world, and Mercruy acted very odd about something last they chatted.

(To be continued much later, friends are rushing me out the door)

Re: Looking for ideas for my campaign (Danger: Long)

(Back, Sky High was a good flick)

Impact and Brainwave meet other kids as well. Dervish had been dating Crescent (sort of a female Moon Knight type) and they meet the son that might yet be, a pranksome gadgeteer named Nocturnus. When Brainwave explains to the Firepower of this world has happened, he calls in their OTHER Resident expert in science (besides the older Brainwave herself), a young powered armor hero named ... Redemption. Turns out he is Cataclysm's son, a hero where she was a villian. Tests by him (with Brainwave Prime's help) confirm they are in yet another dimension, and not merely the future.

Another device is set up, and this time both our heroines are returned to the proper earth with a lot to think on.

Impact in particular is troubled that somehow she might have had a son by Mercury and not remember even being pregnant. True, it SHOULD be impossible, but where there are gods, there are ways. So she calls for him, repeatedly... this after she had, for all intents and purposes, dumped him.

Merc shows up, figuring the little lady misses him and wants him back (Who wouldn't, right?) but she immediately demands to know if they've had a son, how's it possible that she doesn't recall, etc. He answers frankly, that yes, they had a son. Time moves differently in Olympus, and besides, when he once asked if she'd be willing to give birth to a son (thus providing a demi god he could have do missions for him and bypass the Ban in new ways), Impact had refused, so instead, when she became unknowingly pregnant*, he had the unborn child magically wisked to one of his handmaidens to bear instead. Thus, he kept his word (she never bore him a son) and got what he wanted anyways.

Impact is (understandibly) furious. She demands to see their son NOW!

Alas, one does not make demands of Gods. Mercury's eyes narrow, and he informs Impact that he is not her friend, and no longer her lover, that any hold she might have used to implore him for a boon such as this no longer applies. If she wants access to Olympus, she'll have to earn it the old fashioned way like any hero. Then he vanishes.

So now Impact seeks a way to Olympus to see her son, and the F4 will not desert her. Seeking a rare flower called "Hypnos' Rose" that will, when properly used, put the gods to sleep, the F4, and a very confused Streetsmart, begin their journey to find that rose.

It turns out one of the locations it might be found on this world is on an Island of Amazons (Once a pensuila in the land of legends, but the Reality Storm has broken a chunk of it off into the REAL World... won't the nation of Turkey be surprised?) and trying out their new Vehicle "The Diamond" they fly towards it and land.

One Roc attack, and soon after, they are dealing with the Tribe of Artemis on the island. Brainwave and Impact do most of the talking, while Firepower, Dervish, and Streetsmart stay quiet. While some of the amazons are a bit insulted that Brainwave and Impact are unwilling to let them mate with the men and then kill said fellows, they decide to take them to the temple of Artemis anyways to see the high priestess.

The High Priestess notices their costumes, nods sagely, and explains she must talk to them all alone in private. However, no man may enter the Temple.

One 'blessing' later, and all three guys have been transformed into women!

Dervish takes it calmly, Firepower is a bit shocked...

Streetsmart faints.

In the privacy of the temple, the Priestess admits that SHE was once a super heroine known as the "Huntress", back in the World War II days. She went into the world of man, fought the men who were "Under the funny broken cross" and later returned home. Realizing now that their land is outside the land of legends it WILL be discovered, she wishes to make allies among the modern super heroes. She can not, however, risk angering the gods by just giving mortals Hypnos' Rose. Instead, there is a contest to be had that the heroes may enter. If they can win the trials of speed, riddles, strength, and hunting, they may claim the rose as a prize.

The campaign holds there... for now...

And much to the GM's surprise, no one kills him for ripping off Wonder Woman in a group that is meant to be a Fantastic Four Homage ;)

* BTW, if the player of Impact hadn't decided it would be neat to have a demigod son in the main campaign world, said GM would never have foisted such a plot onto to her. I think she wanted some drama :)

Re: Looking for ideas for my campaign (Danger: Long)

Yeah, this one got a bit weird even for me, and I'm the one gaming it... but I had to see it through.

Suffice to say, while some of the Amazons qualify as superhuman, they are, for the most part, no match for the Fabulous Four... save one. The Priestess daughter, named Cyprus, is determined to win instead. HER choice of boon? She wants to be able to go out into Man's world and see much of what her mother did. In short, she wants to pull a wonder woman of her own :)

However, it is the F4 that wins out, leaving a dejected Cyprus certain her mother will not grant her permision to leave to man's world. When Brainwave tip toes through her head and finds this out, she suggests (after checking with the team) that she instead ask for a boon of being able to accompany a 'band of warriors'. Her mother will think her daughter means fellow amazons, when in fact they mean The Fab 4. As only happens in comic books with a plot to push, the ruse works! The F4 leave with both the Hypnos Rose, and an Amazonian guide.

The ritual at the base of Olympus soon sets the gods above to slumber, and the F4 must becareful, for one touch by mortal hand could wake a god...and they won't be happy!

It's actually much worse than that. Korokos, a roman mystic who craves power, is the same fellow who told Impact OF the Hypnos' rose though not its location (they didn't trust him, rightly so, and refused to retrive a stone from Olympus' side). He has journeyed to Olympus as well... and when the ritual is cast and the super heroes head up to get Impact's child, he takes the oppurtunity to pull the stone lose himself. A hole has been made allowing a side passage for the Titans to walk free!

Of course, at first, the F4 don't realize this. They face riddles, challenges, and battle because even if the gods sleep, no one just walks into Olympus univited without trouble. Impact starts to retrive her son, when the mount shakes!

When they realiize they've been set up, instead of taking the babe and running, Impact puts her baby back down, and the team splits up. Dervish tries to rouse the gods while the others try to stop Helios and Hyperion of the Titans from escaping... they really are gnats before , well, Titans! Only a LOT of dodging and some good teamwork gives them a chance.

Zeus and other Olympians join in the fray, but it's a tough fight with our heroes holding off Hyperion while the Greeks fight Helios, with Thea just itching to get out as well. Brainwave uses her TK to steal the cornerstone back from Korokos, but meeting the gaze of the Titan of sight nearly kills Streetsmart. He drops instantly, eyes bleeding. Cyprus and Korokos battle, as he summons scorpions... giant ones.

Too busy to notice the roman mystic, Dervish and Impact conspire to make the mother of all fast ball specials. Grabbing her (and just after saving her from being hit by a 150 strength Hyperion) Dervish turns around at her behest, and propels them both forward full tilt boogey for justice. He launches her like a battering ram, knocking even the mighty Hyperion backwards into the cave (and Thea) while Helios is tossed in by Zeus.

"NOW!" Someone screams, and back into the slot the cornerstone goes, and LOCK goes the gate to the prison ALMOST trapping Impact in it with the Titans they just helped Twhart.

Victory, but Zeus is understandibly NOT a happy camper about what the heroes did, on the other hand, they DID help save Olympus.. after endangering in the first place. A certain evil Roman Mystic Master has escaped, and Zeus wants him to feel his wrath. The F4 volunteer to retrive Korokus for Olympian justice (They're understandibly miffed about being played for dupes)... and so, homeward they go. Fortunately, a bit of diplomacy with the gods leads to Streetsmart's restoration, and even a flask full of mystical knowledge (Yes, it gets really complex).

Impact decides to give up the child for now, she just wanted to see him, and now has... besides, she feels the fool for endangering the world as she has.

Still, when they get home, Impact finds one of their teenage superhumans they've been tending babysitting her son. Apparently left with a note asking her to watch the boy for the weekend if she wouldn't mind? A happy mother dotes on her boy, and it seems Mercury isn't a total jerk after all.
