Dust Raven
Re: Hollow ForceWall I think everyone who has participated in this thread up to this point is in agreement that some kind of house rule would be necessary but the question is how? If I were a GM faced with this type of situation in a space based supers setting I would want a fair mechanic to determine what the minimum levels of Life Support, Force Wall and possibly Telekinesis that would be required. Even if the character has a 'cosmic' power pool I need to know how many points are being applied to the defenses of the Force Wall which is the only mechanic available to determine if the life support bubble gets breached. No house rule needed in my opinion. The FW is only keeping the people from bashing through it, not holding them up or in place. So what if the people are only using enough STR to lift them and are Pulling their Punches? In other words, a FW doesn't have STR, it has structural integrity. MisterD
Re: Hollow ForceWall I agree with you' date=' but nevertheless, page 109 of FRED under Entangle says "Characters cannot use Entangle to create objects other than barriers (such as [b']bridges[/b], braces, or stairs); to do that use Transform." (emphasis added to key word) Well. to create a barrior with the entangle don't you have to have the corners ancheored to something? Can't you have to corners attached to one saide of a gorge and the other two attached to the otherside creating a bridge? Can't you have 2 corners attached to the roof of a building and the bottom two attached to the sidewalk toi create a slide? (Many need area effect with entangel for that.) In other words, a FW doesn't have STR, it has structural integrity. If I was a GM and had to do this on the spot I would have entangle, area of effect line with a linked Life support and CLINGING. Entangel (line) creates bridge/tunnel Life Support allows people to survive the walk through/ across the tunnel/bridge. Cling for one vehicle to 'hold onto' the other via the bridge/tunnel.
