Hierax
Has anyone done any Silent Death Ship Conversions?
shadowcat1313
Re: Silent Death Ship Conversions? I have played a bit of silent death over the years and have a couple of the supplements around here, since its mostly fighters and the big escorts, I was always disapointed we never saw any capitol ship rules
Captain Obvious
Re: Silent Death Ship Conversions? Yeah. I was kind of surprised to see how big some of the escorts got (I didn't play for years, and then found some references on the Internet), but lack of capital ships kind of brought it down for me. I would think that doing a conversion wouldn't be too hard though. I've got a four day weekend coming up, so maybe I'll work up some preliminaries. Amoeba Man
Re: Silent Death Ship Conversions? I might be wrong, as it has been a few years since I've looked at my Silent Death stuff, but IIRC the lore of the game was so that capital ships were not an option. Something about an alien race that was awakened by conflict, so it was decided to keep things scaled down as not to re-awaken them...or something. shadowcat1313
Re: Silent Death Ship Conversions? couple of friends of mine designed the ship building software for Silent Death along with running demos at a lot of cons, lemme see if I can find an e-mail for them, IIRC at least one of them played Champions on occasion too
Hierax
Re: Silent Death Ship Conversions? FWIW, Silent Death is derived from SpaceMaster's more complicated Star Strike and Armored Assault so conversions should also take those stats into account when scaling the damage. Night Hawk Mark 10 Blaster Cannons (Splatguns) Mark 20 Laser (Meld Laser) Teal Hawk Fighter Mark 15 Blaster Cannons (Blatguns) Thunderbird Mark 10 Laser Cannons (Pulse Lasers) Mark 1: Mini Energy Gun Mark 2: Energy Pistol Mark 3: Assault Energy Weapon Mark 4: Energy Rifle Mark 5: Heavy Man-Held Energy Weapons (Plasmatic Repeator) -- Force Level 5: a full 5-Man Infantry Team with Heavy Weapons -- Mark 6: Powered Armor Energy Weapons ... Mark 10: Vehicular and Ship Weapons Begin ... Mark 50: Maximum for Spacemaster System

Craig Marek (sp?) ran the convention Silent Death game that got me started and designed the Ship Builder software. I didn't know about the HERO connection. shadowcat1313
Re: Silent Death Ship Conversions? yep, last I knew Craig was in Toronto, we played traveller and micro armor among other things over the years. Craig ran a lot of demo games at cons, I've gotten blowed up really good more times than I can count....
