  1. Re: Demo version of Champions Online available Did they? I did not know that. I thought they went awhile before offering a free trial. Shows you what I know.
  2. Re: Demo version of Champions Online available Does anyone else feel this is a desperate move to try and get more subscribers? I usually only see free demos and trials for games that have been around awhile or that are in trouble. As Champions Online has been around less then 5 months they don't fit the criteria of the former. I certainly hope I'm wrong and the game is doing well.
  3. Re: The Book I was very dissappionted with the booklet included in the game. I know there is a Strategy Guide, and my wife flipped through it yesterday while I was looking over her shoulder. It looks interesting, but I can't help feel that lack of information in the booklet that comes with the games will increase sales of the Strategy Guide, and that's by design.

  6. Re: Campaign Idea I especially like this bit of your timeline. Nice meshing of the different universes. I'm definitely interested in submitting a character for this Campaign. Now to come up with a concept.
  7. Re: Created Post by Post Skills, Perks, Talents taken so far, because I was getting confused with what had been taken. TF: Helicopters Lipreading Acrobatics Breakfall Deduction +2 Conversation Tactics Bureaucratics Persuasion +3 with HTH Combat Combat Skill Level: DCV +2 (only with martial maneuvers) Punch (Martial Strike) "Go for the eyes Boo!" (Never Strike) "Slammin!" Martial throw "Dive!" Flying Dodge "Duck!" - Martial Dodge Combat luck x2

  10. Re: Created Post by Post Not to nit pick or anything, but I think base STUN should be 38 not 37. I don't have a rule book in front of me so I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. (STR 18/2 = 9) + (CON 21/2 = 10.5 (round to 11)) + (Body = 18) = 38
  11. Re: Created Post by Post END 42 (0) Points Remaining: 237
  12. Re: Created Post by Post PD 6 (2) I figure if people want any more they have the chance to add it during the powers step. Plus, I don't want to use up too many points.

  14. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central My mistake. I read the "(possibly two)" as two. Thanks for clearing that up.
  15. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central Two slots? Deadline of today? Just finding this thread now? Me thinks I'm out of luck.
  16. Re: Is Flight Slow? Thanks for verifying my numbers. I knew you could bye up the NCM and the MP you listed was interesting. The speed and inches in flight I mentioned are actually higher then what I had intended on buying for a flying brick I'm working on. I was going to build him with a 4 speed and 15" of flight. That's 22 MPH or 45 MPH NC. Although flying is nothing short of super, this speed means he can be out run by a guy on a quality bike. My point is most supers seem to move faster then this when flying. Maybe I should just stop reading JLA.
  17. I was doing some calculations of flight speed for a character I'm making and they don't seem all that impressive. Do I have these numbers right? (Number of inches of flight) * Speed * 5(number of rounds in a minute) * 60 * 2 (meters in inch) * (3.2808399 (to get feet per hour) / 5280) or (0.000621371192 for meters to miles) for MPH Assuming those are correct then a character with a 5 speed and 30" of flight would fly at 55.92340728 MPH combat speed, 111.84681456 NC speed. Now, a guy with an 18 dex will still need to shell out 22 pts for that 5 speed and another 60 pts for the 30" flight. That's 82 pts only to be out run by a car on the freeway in a combat situation. Does this seem right? Are my numbers wrong?
  18. Re: The Hero Forum's Hottest Woman in Comics. I vote She Hulk with Ms. Marvel a close second.
  19. Re: Best SuperHero Fights ever Hulk #316 - Bannerless Hulk vs. Iron Man, Wonderman, Hercules, and Namor. The best they can do is fight the Hulk to a standstill, while at the same time leveling a small town.
  20. Re: When Bad Translators Attack! Batman is Spiderman?? Someone has got to lose their job over that.
  21. Re: Speedster Question... Really, that was my first thought, but I decided to let someone else go there.
  22. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game That's not the only newspaper bug. When some people open up their newspaper contact they cower in fear. They can still access missions, but the animation gives the impression that they're afraid of the print media.
  23. Re: Critique My Metamorph What I was trying to do with the Armor was demonstrate that through effort he can become a more armored version of himself, at the time I was thinking something like rocky Thing armor on parts of his body, but it tires him to maintain that form. I did give some thought to dropping the Armor and adding another level of Combat Luck, but the Armor seemed to fit the character more. This is something that I might have to see in action before deciding if I like it or if I'm always finding myself low on END. Making the Damage Reduction non-resistant was purely a points decision. Right now they cost 20 pts apiece. If I want them resistant they would cost me 30pts each. I see the Big Fist power as more of a "I'm changing my hand/arm into (insert big blunt object here) and am smashing that guy" type power. Maybe +7d6 is too much. Maybe I should reduce it and add something else to that power. I don't have a rulebook with me right now but is there an advantage that increases knockback? One thing I wasn't sure about for my disadvantages was if Secret ID would really apply to a shape shifter. One with a false ID no less. Taking the vulnerability/susceptibility to fire feels too much like Martian Manhunter for me. I'll use the vulnerability/susceptibility to sonics as a backup if my GM says the secret ID isn't limiting. I appreciate the house rule and shakedown period, as I'm sure there's going to be something I'd like to change about my character after the first few sessions. I figured the Viper Hunted might need to be changed so I have no problem with you changing it. Thanks again to everyone for the help.
  24. Re: Critique My Metamorph Updated version of my character. I'm wondering if I added too much defense with the Damage Reduction, Armor, and the Regen?
