Aries
I am curious- I am looking to create teenage superheros and I was wondering what a good point assignment would be for this type of character (IE Starting Points and Disadvantages). Thank you
Roy_The_Ruthles
Re: Character Creation points for Teenager Heros i'd go with no more than 200 points and disads like Minor, and psychological ones, like "angsty teenager" etc.

Aries
Re: Character Creation points for Teenager Heros 100 pts + 100 disad sounds about right. Thats good range. I was also thinking either 150 points + 50 points of Disad's or 200 Points with 50 points of disads

Also- Roy I sent you a PM- please check your PM's The base points are up to you, but I would go with no less than 100 disad points. That encourages players to take "teen angsty" psych disads and such. Plus there is the social lim: minor under 18 (keeps them out of lots of places like bars, clubs, liquor stores, etc) and many places have curfews. pinecone
Re: Character Creation points for Teenager Heros Shoot I was going to suggest 150+100...the "old" champs standard...they tended to be powers heavy and skills light....sounds like a super powered 15 year old to me.... Lotsa 13- rolls tho...pretty apt for a teenage hero getting the hang of his powers.

Lotsa 13- rolls tho...pretty apt for a teenage hero getting the hang of his powers. Using a characterisitc does not negate the active point penalties. The -3/4 value is used because the character's dexterity is a 13- roll. You are just told to use the activation roll chart to get the value of the limitation. Edit to add: Page 304 in 5Er under The Skill Used: "The Active Point penalty applies normally to other unusual RSRs."

Activation rolls don't have active point penalties. RSR's do. He bought them as activation rolls. It may or may not be by the book 5er legal, but its consistant with many, many past examples. As long as he can't modify his activation roll it works.

Right-o Its all good then I personally still think that the whole RSR/Activation thing could use a bit more tinkering to even out the values and penalties, but thats another thread entirely. True, but at least with RSR there's a chance of partial success if you only miss by 1 or 2 [to be determined by the GM]. With activation a miss is a miss. Kristopher
Re: Character Creation points for Teenager Heros Well, I suppose angsty is OK, if you want Dawson's Creek or 90210 with superpowers. Oh, wait, that's been done...Small something or other, I think it's called... Personally, I don't think it's just about point totals, although teen supers with 450+150 might be a bit much. There's also the question of what you want to do with the campaign.

It happens. Especially to teenagers. Angst is part of growing up. I think any campain with super teens is inherintly going to have some angst
Aries
Re: Character Creation points for Teenager Heros Well I created my first teenage character. Wow, when you only have 200 points total to make your character (100 + 100 disadvans) you run out of points quick. But then when you have a teenage superhero they are only going to be so powerful
