Jkeown
I just uploaded an old article, Dungeons of Caleon. http://www.geocities.com/jephkay@sbcglobal.net/dungeons.html It's kinda cool, and has some generic application. Feel free to use what you can of any Caleon material. So long as you praise me unendingly.
Captain Obvious
Re: new thing over at Caleon HQ I don't believe for one minute these claims you make of ADHD. The gaming material you post is just so detailed.
Jkeown
Re: new thing over at Caleon HQ That's cuz I've been writing it for 20 years. I know Caleon (and Exodus and Skylands, the two branching paths of its future) like the back of my hand. I'm a mess otherwise.
Fitz
Re: new thing over at Caleon HQ It's an interesting thing; it seems to me that there are two types of gamer who enjoy dungeoneering: the brand new roleplayer, to whom everything is wondrous and new, and the old fart (such as moi) who's been playing for a zillion years. It seems to be mainly the slightly experienced (i.e. been playing for 3 to 5 years) players who sniff and turn up their noses at a good old dungeon as being beneath their exalted roleplaying expectations. It's easy to se why newbies enjoy it; a good dungeon is a non-stop fun fest of action and brain-bending problems and puzzles. Fun for the whole family. For old farts, there's obviously a nostalgic attraction, plus the features I've mentioned above, but what else? Maybe it's because, unlikely hordes of orcs, undead, and dragons aside, it's because Ye Olde Dungeonne is really a relaxing mode of play, requiring little in the way of soul-searching or diplomatic obfuscation. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from Roleplaying (with a capital R) and do a bit of gaming (with a small g).
