Help with a power

Manchine

Recommended Posts

Ok I have been trying to make Manchine up in Hero Format. One of his Main powers is his Force Field. This Force Field isnt like other Force Fields. Its more of a graivty shield. It pretty much spreads an attack out on a subatomic scale. Unless its very powerful. It also can create a Solid regular Force Field. The last thing is the Force Field can be expanded outward but it gets weaker the farther it goes out. I want it to remain circular around him. I just don't know how to write it up.

List of things it can do.

Force Field

1) Increase DCV

2) Force Field

3) Expand outward but get weaker farther it goes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help with a power

Slot one could also be defined as Damage Reduction. It's not really +DCV, it just spreads out the energy of the attack so it doesn't all hit him.

The 'bigger but weaker' aspect seems like it could be modeled by either a Multipower with a lot of Ultra slots each working it's way up the AE ladder, resulting in a lower PD/ED for the field but a larger area, or a VPP defined as only FF and the only advantages that can be added are various area of effect levels.

Or you could use a version of "Reduced by range", figure the max range, and then say "x range is y% of max, so at x range it's at (100-y)% of max strength."

Example:

50 ED Force Field

You want the max range at which it can be effective to be 25"

At 20" (80% of 25), the field would be at (100-80=20) 20% of max power, or be just a 10 ED Force Field.

Re: Help with a power

Be careful as buying DCV Levels (@ 5 pts per) can make this character very difficult on a GM. For example, you could buy Damage Reduction 50%, Resistant on both Physical nd Energy for 60 pts (or two 30 active point slots in a MP or an EC). That same 60 points would buy you +12 DCV Levels, which would probably exceed the campaign limits when added to your base DCV.
