Vanguard00
I'm tired. I know it. And I'm not thinkin' particularly clearly at the moment, but still... I'm making a guy with an EC based around his ability to go Desolid. I don't have the book or HD with me at the moment, but I want to simulate phasing his hand into someone, causing serious pain/damage. My thoughts on this: To cause pain, 6d6 EB, No Range, NND (vs. Force Fields) To cause damage, 1d6 HKA, AVLD (Force Fields) That seems too easy. What am I missing? I'm more interested in the build than the number of die of damage, but for those who want/need such things, let's say a 50 AP cap. Ease my troubled and tired mind and help a brutha out? Captain Obvious
Re: Desolid attack It may seem easy, but it works. If you have CKC, some of Shrinker's inside-the-body attacks could work for a phasing character, too.
pinecone
Re: Desolid attack I think the HKA AVLD also needs Does body (+1) as well...you might snag a few extra points by going with HA, NND you can always buy down your End cost if nothing else.... Captain Obvious
Re: Desolid attack Good catch, pinecone. For that matter, Affects Solid would be another good advantage to add, given that the character will presumably be Desolid quite often. The 'affects solid' won't apply in this case but the rest of it should be good. Thanks, guys.
pinecone
Re: Desolid attack Yeah if the GM is cool with it...years ago I played a Ghost detective named Jake specter who had 20 STR and 20 more STR affects real world in his EC of "Ectoplasmic mastery" I think he did 9D6 with a Uppercut (+1 dc boxing MA)...it was a Big suprise the first time a major villian went Desolid so as to "take the fight to me" vs desolid foes I did 13D6!.......one weird thing I did was buy the Desolid as vari-special effects when I updated him to 4Th...so that along with Detective/scout and agent buster I could also specialize in smashing villianous Desolid specialists.... Assuming your GM is lenient enough to let you to have ‘Affects Physical World’ on all your attacks for free . . . --- But it doesn’t work on a subclass of bricks . . . so it all balances out, right? Right?
