Susano
Re: CU - Wold Newton Nice. That'll be super useful. I've got the 1980 edition of "Dieties and Demigods" with the Nehwon Mythos section... but it could use some work. I'd love to know where TSR got some of their stats from. Like the Behemoth. They are mentioned all through the stories, but never described -- so how did TSR come up with the orca on legs?

There is one brief passage in one of the stories (can't remember which) where Leiber mentions, "zats flying on silver wings" or something like that... and for whatever reason, the concept of 'zats' fully enchants me. Though I have no real notion of what one is, I've determined that they grow as they age only in direct proportion to the excellerating expansion of the Universe due to darkmatter. OddHat
Re: CU - Wold Newton Reminds me of the macabre fictional era of medicine found on Barsoom... where people live eternal disease-free lives; but are subject to fatal cerebro-spinal injuries... only with a wilder' date=' more 'mind-over-matter' element.[/quote'] It helps emphasize the psychic/psionic nature of Fortean Talents. but mostly it's there to allow GMs (me in this case) to fold oddities like moderately freakish demons, Nightbreed etc together with entirely human looking Highlander style Immortals or Marvel style Eternals. Why does "Mr. Scrach", 12,000 year old Immortal, have hooves and horns, and believe himself to be Satan? Brain injury in 600 AD; he hasn't been right since. Especially if the brain trauma turned Mr. Scratch into a channel for some other psychic being's will.

Yup, which leaves open both the "There were no gods, just a race of ancient superbeings" option and the "Of course there were gods" option. Enough detail to give story clues, and enough ambiguity to let people in the setting come to their own conclusion about this lunatic ex family practice physician claiming to be "Thor".
