Is this possible?

I'm wondering if it is possible to create a power that gives you extra phases with an activation roll?

I'm thinking of a potion, sword, item that will grant an extra attack on a roll of 11 or less or some such.

What do you all think? Any ideas? Is it possible in the rules framework?

Third of Three

Sure, buy extra SPD and give it the limitation you want (Activation 11- for the second example). Be warned that SPD can only change "between turns" so to speak.

There is no "extra attack" concept in HERO -- you need extra phases, or the Autofire advantage.

A power like this should only be possible in a Power Framework if it costs END.

Finally, it's not usually a good idea to cross-post. That just difuses the answers you'll get.

EDIT: What I get for cut-n-pasting, the same spelling error three times

I would buy:

+2 Speed, Activate 11- (-1), Cost: 10

I would then rule (for simplicities sake) that the character is speed X, but that two of their phases may or may not activate. I would declare what those two phases were:

I.E. (presumes character, which extra speed, is speed 6):

2. Act

4. Act

6. Roll

8. Act

10. Roll

12. Act

Then you don't have to worry about changing speed.

I forgot, it needs Usable By Others, as well.
