Badger
Yeah, trying to create a villain which is a hive mind of a "colony" of parasites. Yeah, probably overdone. ANyhow, I was trying to think of a parasite, bug, leech, whatever that would be perfect to use. I dont want it to difficult to remove. Also, I have no idea how to create a power to simulate the taking control part.
Highwayman
Re: Parasitic hive mind villain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampulex_compressa The emerald cockroach wasp's prefered egg-laying site is a species of cockroach much too large for it to lift. It overcomes this problem by injecting a venom into the cockroach that disables its flight reflex. It then leads the now-docile cockroach back to its den and implants its eggs. Since the cockroach no longer has the ability to flee danger, it just stands there until the hatching wasps devour it. A scaled-up, mutant version might inject humans with a venom that renders them docile and extremely suggestable. It could then ride the human and issue verbal or telpathic commands. Removal would just be a matter of knocking the bug off them (and possible inventing an antidote for the venom). For the actual power, make it, say, a 6d EGO Drain, no range. One sting will put the average person into negative EGO, where they have to make an EGO roll to refuse any command. Repeated stings will take them to -30, where they can't take any action unless commanded. Make the sting not work against resistant defenses, and reduce the return rate to taste. To make the bug's lives easier, make them small enough to hide in the victim's hair or clothing, or give them some camoflauge.
Spidey88
Re: Parasitic hive mind villain. A less exotic approach might be to use a realtively ordinary leech body as your parasite. One point in "LS: Human mouth" and you've got a little critter that's very difficult to detect. Put them, say, under a lip and that's relatively easy to remove too. The EGO drain Highwayman mentioned should work pretty good. Coupled with some Mind Control, you could fine tune the remaining willpower vs. commands - I would assume (but don't know for sure offhand) that completely draining EGO to zero would mean anyone could make commands. Spidey88
Re: Parasitic hive mind villain. Almost forgot - for the leech thing, the altered diet of its hosts (eg. anything that doesn't require chewing, which might damage the leech) could be a vague tipoff that something's amiss. "Wait - we're in a fancy restaurant, and that wierdo only ordered a milkshake and jello?" "KAPOW!"

"Wait - we're in a fancy restaurant, and that wierdo only ordered a milkshake and jello?" "KAPOW!" I hope that isn't the actual reaction. Because, you know, that weirdo could easily be someone who was recently punched in the jaw and can't use (or doesn't have) any teeth, but is eating there to remain with his group (who may bring mundane justice against the reckless PC's ).
