Working on my Home Grown Campaign: Fantasy Hero game

Hello everyone,

Ok recap, I am taking a 25+ yr D&D campaign and converting it from D&D v3.5 to Fantasy Hero v5.

So I am trying to work on races currently, and would like to ask for some help from the collective here. In my campaign "Elves" are a Non-Player race and I consider them to be Fae. They are different than standard Elves of D&D so they really exist both in Farie Realm and the mudane Realm too.

So to replace Elves, I created another race called "Truff'Tierri". They are the first race that was Mortal and had a Soul, that actually worshiped a God. They perfer to live in deep forests or high mountains away from humans and other humanoids. Physically speaking they are slightly taller than the average human (male or female) and are very strong and hardy a race. They also have like a 200 yr lifespan and have a low birthrate, thus there are not alot of them. Despite all that they excell at warfare and fighting and they all seem to have some minor magical talents that seem to varry from each one.

Now I have found some figures by "Dark Age" figures that fit my idea for the race perfectly and here are some .jpg's for some of them. I will be using the weapon types as seen in these pics and tailer/rework this race to fit the feel and character of the figures/pics:

Male Truff'Tierri:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Crossbowmen.jpg

Female Truff'Tierri:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Bladetempestmaiden.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Doublebladesmaiden.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Doublebladesmaiden2.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Fandancermaiden.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Ringblademaiden.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Sworddancermaiden.jpg

Thus my design style is based on looking at a picture first and then tailor the design to fit the picture and then warp the design to fit the game play idea concept for the creature/being. So what i am looking for is some ideas of how to build these beings/race so I can get a feel how best to convert or build the rest of my unique races that I have in my own home grown fantasy campaign.

I beg your assistance in this matter for a starting conversion project so I can get a better understanding and plus one!

Also note that in D&D terms they were a 3+3HD creature thus 6-27 Hit Points at first level and had levels like PCs do and each level they gained a d8+1 in HPs. I understand that might not be understood by Non-D&D players but the rest that have played will get my meaning. Also there birth spell like power was like a first level spell that gained in power as they gained levels over time.

Do you have the Fantasy Hero main rulebook?

I have some draconic races in my Western Shores campaign that are modifications of the lizard packages.

Have a look at my package creator program here- http://www.curufea.com/games/western/5e/packages_f.php

It combines various parts of the main rulebook and my customisations. Specifically the races of Dracofolk, Lizardfolk and Wyrmfolk (based on Norse naming)

The campaign before the 5th edition, I had these packages-

Based on the miniatures, I would say they are mammalian. Those feet look somewhat similar to a pig's. Other observations, the males are definitely bruisers, as you wanted. I would give the racial package for males a max of about 25 str. (a +5), a con. and body of 23(+3), and a -3 to ego to represent a temper. Something strikes me as though they would have one. A keen sense of smell, and maybe tracking by smell, might be appropriate too.

The females strike me as graceful, not strong. So, maybe a max dex of 23(+3), and a con and body the same as the males. They would have an ego deficit just as the males, and the same sense of smell.

Actually I do not have that book yet, one of the few actually. Thus when I get the chance to I will try to buy a copy of the HC Fantasy Hero, as well as both Asian Beastiary I and II. I also want to get the Character Creation handbook, plus Cops,Crews and Cabals too. Once I obtain these books then I will have all the Hero's books out for v5. Then as a new book comes out I will buy it to add to my resource library.

I started collecting everything for my son because he runs a Champions and Dark Champions based campaign. I then discovered Fantasy Hero products, and bought that plus Star Hero stuff, along with PAH, Ninja Hero, and the new Traveller Hero. Now that D&D v3.5 is going to v4.0 I am done with D&D and wil be converting my D&D v3.5, Traveller d20, and Gamma World d20 all to the Hero System. I have collected Hero's System off and on from back to Champions v2. Now that my three games can all use one system, I am extremely happy and will begin the massive rebuild/rework/conversions process. Thus I need to have everything I can get in my resource library to help my cause and serve as a reference point for me.
