Doc
Hi, I thought this could give a couple of good ideas for a fighting enironment in a post-apoc world setting, too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prypiat%2C_Ukraine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster_effects http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Forest I suggest you search for "Prypiat" in google image for a breath taking glimpse of what happened, and still goes on, there. I'd use this to build a credible post nuclear war environment. Have fun.
Chris Goodwin
Re: Environment for Post Apoc settings Repped. This is awesome stuff, especially the suggestion to GIS Prypiat. Edit: This image gave me chills.
Bygoneyrs
Re: Environment for Post Apoc settings Hey guys I was thinking about this whole issue, as one of my conversion projects of Gamma World to PAH, and rebuilding my campaign setting, I was considering using Barsoom as my base and changing it somemore. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Dreamworld/6532/barsoom/world_files/maps.html I would add a bit more life to my version of the planet Barsoom add some other elements as well too! CorPse
Re: Environment for Post Apoc settings Here's an amazing memorial to the "liquidators." The roughly one million people (a significant number of whom are dead or ill) who helped clean up after Chernobyl. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Chernobyl_State_in_memory_of_herois._On_Meeteeno_Chemestry.jpg
Doc
Re: Environment for Post Apoc settings Thanks for the positive feed-back, guys. Would I look dumb to ask what exactly is the rep system in the forum and how does it work? (Sorry, I'm still an "incompetent normal"...) Thanks
CorPse
Re: Environment for Post Apoc settings Thanks for the positive feed-back, guys. Would I look dumb to ask what exactly is the rep system in the forum and how does it work? (Sorry, I'm still an "incompetent normal"...) Thanks Only if you Rep me! Just kidding. Clicking on the little scales in the upper right hand corner of a post allows you to reward the poster with Rep. How much Rep you give depends on how much Rep you've received over your time on the boards. Also, you're amount of Rep won't show up as a numerical value until you have made 50 posts (posts in the Non-Gaming Discussion forum don't count.) Hope this makes sense. I'm a sickie today and not into proofreading.
Chris Goodwin
Re: Environment for Post Apoc settings It's a way of saying "I thought that post was really cool." You can see how much rep you have by clicking on the User CP link at the top.
