Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara With the campaign going from Pittsburgh to San Angelo, the synagogue Lynn and Tim attend becomes Tree of Life Congregation (Beth Israel is a Reform Synagogue in Downtown San Angelo) and they live in the community of Arroyo Verde, a suburb of San Angelo. Their AK for the synagogue comes from the fact that they've spent a lot of time in it and Lynn helps organize community health screenings there. Thia Halmades
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Sailor Sun's sheet is coming along well. Now' date=' a question: the ghost of his late baby sitter visits Tim, when she wants to, and give him encouragement. Is she a spirit contact or something else?[/quote'] Depends; if he can contact her, and she's important and can bring new information, help put him in touch with other spirits, etc., then she's a contact. If she can be harmed, if her existence is extremely important to him and someone can find her and exploit that weakness, she's a DNPC. It's a matter of how you want it to reflect for Tim. Remember that DNPCs can be extremely useful; they don't get as many points as say, Sarah Fisher, but they're still quite handy to have around. Unlike contacts, they're vulnerable. Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Sailor Sun's image file is attached. CHARACTER HISTORY: Tim was a normal teenager, who was living with his aunt and legal guardian because his parents died in a car crash when he was ten, when the magic ring and sheet of instructions arrived in the mail. He put the ring on, followed the instructions, and transformed into Sailor Sun. The first time he saw his new self, he fainted. Tim later found out that his aunt's late maternal grandmother was the previous Sailor Sun. PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION: Tim wants to do good. As Sailor Sun, he can. If only he didn't have to do it as a girl. POWER/TACTICS: Sailor Sun has powers similar to any Sailor Senshi. His tactics are those of a Sailor Senshi who works on her own. Maybe that could be a girl comic book at Champions U... Cute Magical Soldier Girl Solara! Now I just need a gm and other handful players for this game Believe it or not, I colored it using MS Paint. As far as the name, in the original discussions, her placeholder name was Sun Maid. Then, I chose Solara, forgetting that that was the North American name for the coupe version of the Toyota Camry. When I got serious about basing her on the Sailor Senshi, I made her name Sailor Sun, figuring that everyone would call her that anyway. I always wished play a senshi game but I never found a gm or fellow players willing to run this theme, that is a shame. I really would like add my senshi to your own small senshi story, my basic idea is make her one of Tim's classmates, a tomboy girl raised at a military family which discover her "feminity" when she transform into Sailor Earth. Of course she is a reform jew like Tim and she goes to the same sinagogue. Why not take Tim into a youth jew movements? That could add some "social" life to him. More exactly because her nephew becomes her niece thanks to an odd crystal Thanks. I wrote her that way so that she wouldn't be too surprised when Tim became Sailor Sun the first time. When she witnessed Tim's transformation, she ran her fingers through her red hair, and said, "Interesting. Tim has my late grandmother's powers. Something tells me that the negaverse will be rearing its head soon and the other sailor senshi will start to appear. Got to wake Sailor Sun up and get her into action." She then used smelling salts to revive the new heroine.
Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Sailor Sun will be in a suburb of whatever city the campaign is set in. The synagogue has a preschool/day care program for its members. There's always a volunteer nurse, usually a member or a member's wife, in the preschool area when the kids are there. Lynn acts as nurse when school is out and Tim helps out where he can in the synagogue. Lynn is one of two sopranos in the synagogue choir. The other, Zipporah Stern, is the rabbi's wife. Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara The design of the Tree of Life Congregation is based on that of the First United Methodist Church of Wichita, Kansas. (URL: http://www.firstwichita.org) Solomon Stern is the synagogue's rabbi. His wife, Zipporah, who was born and raised in Israel, is a Hebrew school teacher and one of two sopranos in the synagogue choir. Aaron Silver is the cantor. His wife, the former Rebecca Kaufman, is also the Torah reader's daughter. She's also a Hebrew school teacher, a contralto in the synagogue choir, the alternate Torah reader, and the person who sounds the shofar. David Masters is the synagogue's executive director. His wife, Rachael, is the synagogue's educational director as well as the organist and choir director. Richard Kaufman, a professional photographer, is the synagogue's Torah reader and president of the Parent-Teacher Organization. His wife, Beverly, is president of the Sisterhood, the synagogue's women's club. Jody Marks, an African-American woman, is the sexton and a contralto in the synagogue choir. She also is a licensed falconer and looks after the peregrine falcons that roost on the synagogue's roof. Lynn Connors, R.N., is a certified school nurse. She is a soprano in the choir and acts as preschool nurse when public school isn't in session.
Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Here's more of the synagogue's crew. Although it may show up in the IST campaign, I'm including it here because it's going to be more important in a Sailor Senshi campaign. Lynn's nephew, and ward, Tim Clark is a member of the synagogue's United Synagogue Youth chapter and helps out at the synagogue during the summer and other times school isn't in session. When the synagogue began having financial problems and had to lay off some of Jody's team, a member, who also owned Seacouver Maid Service, proposed a solution. He would hire Jody to manage two four-woman cleaning teams and still live in. One team would work 9-5 Monday through Friday. The other team would work evenings and weekends. It was accepted. Although the daylight team, headed by Maureen, and evening team, headed by Angie, only clean, Jody also does yard work, runs errands, preforms routine maintenance on the synagogue's infrastructure, and moves furniture. Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara I recently made a few changes to Tim's bio. Lynn is now his mother instead of his aunt. (His father was some guy that brutally attacked her in 1993.) Both Lynn's mother, Grace, who is still alive, and Grace's mom, Rebecca, now deceased, are previous Sailor Suns. During the time Grace was Sailor Sun, 1975-2000, she was a member of a local superhero team as well as a high school history teacher. Tim has grown up hearing tales of his grandmother's exploits. According to her, all the series Sailor Moon got right was the three phases of the costume, regular, super, and eternal. She also added that her costume's style was identical to those of Sailors Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter.
Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Thanks to his mom, who is on the nursing staff in both places, Tim gets to attend American Gladiators, which is taped in his home city instead of Los Angeles, and the local car track, which hosts only amateur races. While Tim has a minor waiver, signed by Lynn, that lets him work at the track, and ride in the pace car, he has no specialty license. (He's to young for one, or a Sports Car Club of America membership.) Although, in a Sailor Senshi campaign, the team has no base, Grace's presence makes Tim's house an unofficial one. Instead, they have various places, mostly public areas that they meet at before heading for a foe together. The federal government will, of course, be interested in them. There official representative is a bureaucrat who lives, with his housekeeper, in a modest three bedroom house. Of course, appearances are deceiving. Either the bureaucrat, or housekeeper (or both), served in one of the nation's various intelligence agencies. There are, of course, also evil intelligence agencies and politicians trying to make trouble for the Sailor Senshi.

In a campaign featuring a regular superhero team, Lynn might be the team's nurse instead of a school nurse. If so, she'll probably live-in, with her son. In that case, Sailor Sun might be a junior member of the team, especially if there's a requirement that members have to be at least 18-years old. Mark Rand
Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Good things have been happening with this character recently. I'm going to play her in someone else's campaign that's set in Millennium City. The only trouble there is that, thinking I'd never have to use it, I sold my copy of Millennium City to Half Price Books. Looks like I'll have to buy it back.
