  1. Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Aunt Lynn sounds like a really nice "young team" responsible adult and eventual mentor. More exactly because her nephew becomes her niece thanks to an odd crystal
  2. Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara
  3. Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Her write up is great. I am even going to use part of her write up as base to sailor earth... I always wished play a senshi game but I never found a gm or fellow players willing to run this theme, that is a shame. I really would like add my senshi to your own small senshi story, my basic idea is make her one of Tim's classmates, a tomboy girl raised at a military family which discover her "feminity" when she transform into Sailor Earth. Of course she is a reform jew like Tim and she goes to the same sinagogue. Why not take Tim into a youth jew movements? That could add some "social" life to him.
  4. Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara I found it and I am doing my own senshi... Sailor Earth
  5. Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara tell me where do you got the template, so I can do my own sailor
  6. Re: Sailor Sun, formerly Solara Nice looks, now that gave me a wish to play a sailor moon like game... Maybe that could be a girl comic book at Champions U... Cute Magical Soldier Girl Solara! Now I just need a gm and other handful players for this game
  7. Re: Game Design: Champions Online my 2 cents The whole mmog idea is awesome, but let's be practical. Who are the main target? We or the general public? What is the combo chances and the perfect build chances? MMO people usually plays doing perfect builds and perfect combos characters. And that could be against the champions spirit. My vote is for a system like NWN, someone write the story and build the world, you play the game following the story done by someone else.
  8. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? I want see more details about Argent and more details about UNITY and the kind of menaces they stop
  9. Re: Martian Manhunter Question and other oddities because mars is a wasteland now
  10. Re: Was watching Superman TAS and wondered about Mxyzptlk Because Mxy said he couldn't,and Supes always plays by the rules
  11. Re: The Forbes Fictional 15 Antony Stark sold Stark International and created Maria Stark Fundation, which isnt't working all that fine and Professor Charles Xavier isn't a real billionaire, even he keeps his school at Westchester region he don't own the whole couty like Mr Wayne own half Gotham county or Mrs Croft and her half billion dollars artefacts. Reed Richards hold some important patents, but several of them don't seem to be that profitable for the whole mankind. And so far he didn't released his famous instable molecules tissue for the fashion industry, and that is a real lack of business vision.
  12. Re: Making a Ninja Hero Campaign with Anthro Characters And they are. Judo are pretty ground oriented as well and the olympic wrestling have a lot of ground elements. I always consider maneuvers like grabs and escapes have ground elements. If you read some maneuvers you will see they are talking about ground and finishing immobilization movements
  13. Re: Making a Ninja Hero Campaign with Anthro Characters Just a note. Usually what the brazilians fight at UFC and Pride are a mix of some martial styles which they call Vale Tudo. A fight style designated to this kind of tournament. Te few ones which fight with the clean Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are the Gracie family members and Victor Belford. The Gracie family says the Jiu Jitsu are the chess of martial arts.
  14. Re: Making a Ninja Hero Campaign with Anthro Characters I do, and by experience (by jaw still hurt). I could say they use Martial Strike, Offenive Strike, Martial Grab, Passing Grab, Offensive grab, Choke Hold, Martial Escape, Killing Throw, Martial Throw. The usual gym simbols here are Gorillas, Pittbull dogs (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter nickname is Pitbull due the ears, mood and the brain size) and Alligators. And Brazilian Jiu Jitsu weak spot is mobility. A Capoeira master or a monkey Kung Fu master could kick the Br Jiu Jitsu figher's *** easy. But if they get in a close combat everything changes
  15. Re: The Forbes Fictional 15 It is logical. Gotham had an earthquake and was isolated by a plague. And Bruce Wayne spent his own money to rebuild the city, nt negiltecting the poor districts or even the other rival companies plants and labs, like Star Labs local branch or Kord Omniversal local Internet Services. And Waynetch bonds sunk when Bruce was charged as a criminal.

  17. Re: Japanese Language/Name question But that fall over the titles. Before you name anything in japanese you need get a clear idea about what the character can do and what is his background. And you even can do a word play like name a character Ken and call him Ken no Akuma (Devil Blade) because Ken is the generic for blades.
  18. Re: Why we shouldn't worry about 2020 Wizards/hasbro already made their downsize, before any other small D20 based company did, and a lot of so called big rpg companies are delaying their releases. So far by the informations I got Wizards are being kept by Axis and Allies money and Unearthed Arcana is the book line which is letting WW release their WoD books. And do a DC based rpg system isn't merit. WEG/Yeti did and look to them now. Someone remember the last Marvel rpg system? How many editions it had remained? Green Ronin is one of the few companies which got some profit with D20, but my question is for how long they will be around? So far their merits are in the fact they have better art and a better design. M&M universe isn't all that good, it just look like Silver Age Sentinels and the system was made to Marvel power scale. (Unless you want see Superman sheet with Melee rating +50 or something else). Let face the truth, the rpg market are shrinking, and the games which remained are the ones who created a powerful fandom for more than 15 years, and even this ones with a good fandom are barely standing with their heads over the water.
  19. Re: Japanese Language/Name question Japanese don't say "I am Ryu, the evil" usually they show how evil or powerful or nasty telling "I am One thousand orphans made Ryu", "I am Ryu Master of Hundred Killers" or "Ryu, the forsaken by the hell". Or depending the historic period you just need the job title or the clan name to the people know you aren't on the side of the angels. The trick about Japanase is tell what do you mean in a poetic or subtle way. They never will tell No without an excuse or tell something bad about them without something to valorize the evil deed made by them.
  20. Re: Why we shouldn't worry about 2020 Not exactly. What Hero does is exctly what a big comic book company does. Remeber, in the past we had Thor and Conan crossover, and DC had its own fantasy setting linked with the super hero setting. DC's close future is a powerless post apocaliptic setting filled with intelligente animals (Kamandi the last Boy), later it turn into a space opera and the super heroes just returned at 30th century. And I am not telling how some Conan and Kull villains had appeared at modern times to make the marvel heroes life a mess, nor I am counting how DC's Egypt could be a nice high fantasy setting with living gods, people using powerful magical artifacts like Eye of Rah building the multi elements soldiers, the Blue Scarab and the Pharaoh flying using his "magical" wings. Among other odd things. What M&M have is a better art. Hero could get a better artists if they had Green Ronin money (I wonder when they are going to downsize like any D20 related company are doing)
  21. Re: Just Picked Up Champions Worldwide I am working at some Digital Hero articles about Rio de Janeiro and Brazilian mysteries for Pulp Hero, at Tropical Terrors Villain Book and South Cone Champions talking about Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay book proposals. I hope see one of them approvated next year.
  22. Re: Just Picked Up Champions Worldwide The aid given by Pres Reagan was: "Simon says Democracy now or else" after a previous american president said "Simon says overthrow Nice Socialist president or else" And during the dictature a lot of brazilians officers went to School of Americas, but is another story which must be debated in private (if you are interested IM me) The pitfall is simple:people make them look exotic, not interesting. And the names sometimes sounds cheesy or with obligation to sound exotic. Call a foreign hero with an exotic name is like call Philadelfia's main hero "Liberty Bellboy" or a San francisco villain "Jailman, the son of Alcatraz". People must forget they are writing foreign characters, but just characters. That worked with Eurostar and Menton at CKC. That could finish the pitfall
  23. Re: Just Picked Up Champions Worldwide I really miss Jaguar, he was a plausible brazilian, we even could say from which state he came from. But now the spanish vs portuguese, hte partial informations which we get from the books/posters and complementing that the constant mistakes set by americans about Brazil is something which can be frustating for the few brazilian fans of Hero. Usually a brazilian on internet have to explain a lot about the country to the americans. More even if the american thinks he can speak spanish with us thinking we speak spanish like the other latin americans. And trust me, this kind of mistakes helps to build the anti american feelings. One classic case related to the american negligency happened with President Reagan when he was in a tour at Latin America, the people here still remember this mistake because it was a HUGE diplomatic mistake set by President Reagan - he said "Nobody stop Bolivia" during a lunch set in Brasilia, at presence of a general-president which was losing the control over the country to give room for democracy and the lunch theme was exactly the kind of aid which USA could give to us during the whole democratic transition process.
  24. Re: Just Picked Up Champions Worldwide Yeah. But once you see Capoeira being played by the Mestres you must wonder if they are fighting or the fight are being set by their shadows
  25. Re: Just Picked Up Champions Worldwide The right name could be Dançarino (or Dançarina if the character is female) das Solmbras. I liked the concept, it is pretty good to the "real" nature of capoeira. Capoeira was for over a century considered an illegal martial arts, the main reason is because the way it was fought. Capoeira wasn't a martial arts associated to long fights, a good fighter misguide the enemy and deliver some fast attacks, so he can escape or finish the combat as soon as possible. And sometimes some of the fighters said to the cops they never touched the enemy, but his shadow did, so if you had to jail something you had to jail the shadow.
