If he’s saying they aren’t funny, that’s just an inane point to make. “Comic” stems from “comedy,” which despite the modern connotation, does not simply mean “funny”. I could get behind that... Not just the current state of the comics industry, but the stories told themselves count as tragedies. Not to mention (IMO, anyway) tragically bad!
