Naanomi
Re: Would you allow the white knight defense? Sell your 'Body' back down to 1 point... then buy a 1 point innate regeneration that can resurrect and regrow limbs. Be an automaton and take the 'takes no stun' trait... and full life support. Tada, the basis of a golem character I made.
Ragdoll
Re: Would you allow the white knight defense? Edit: here's the build - it's GM's permission' date=' since it included Damage reduction in the EC .... [/quote'] Wait. Damage Reduction can't be placed inside an elemental control framework? =? I thought the only powers that couldn't fit inside an EC were powers marked as 'special'.

I thought the only powers that couldn't fit inside an EC were powers marked as 'special'. Powers that inherently cost 0 END must take a Costs END Limitations before legally (by RAW) being placed in an EC. from 5er page 314: ENDURANCE Normally, all slots in an Elemental Control must cost END or have the Reduced Endurance Advantage (characters can buy the END cost down to 0 if they wish). Characters cannot buy Powers that inherently cost no END (for example, FTL Travel) as a slot in an EC (or as part of a slot with two Linked powers) unless they take the Limitation Costs Endurance, or the GM permits it. Powers that inherently cost 0 END must take a Costs END Limitations before legally (by RAW) being placed in an EC. Ultimate Supermage says that this is not so... and also says that it is OK for 'racial' ECs to have Life Support if appropriate, in their character building section concerning Golems and the like. Naanomi
Re: Would you allow the white knight defense? Ultimate Super Mage: A PDF only source book... maybe for 4th ed, I'm not sure. The printed copy is at my GM's house.
ghost-angel
Re: Would you allow the white knight defense? I can assure you it is not a DoJ 5th Edition supplement of any nature - and thus any rules discussed in it are generally not useful for these boards unless you've made a note that it is a specific house rule in your specific campaign. The 5E book would be The Ultimate Mystic. For the record, in 5E, a Power must cost Endurance to be placed in an Elemental Control - either inherently or because Costs Endurance Limitation was added. mmshah
Re: Would you allow the white knight defense? Use the Healing Effect advantage for Absorption from Ultimate Energy Projector, it basically gives the same effect as the White Knight Defense (unlimited max), but only goes to starting values. I have a brick with this and he basically can't be killed but his offense is limited so that he's semi-balanced. Also there is nothing to stop you from buying this for Mental Attacks too, but if I were GMing I'd require that only 2 of 3 defenses were chosen so that you had at least 1 weakness. Also even with this or the White Knight defense you can still be KO'ed by NND's or AVLD's but with the 75% DR it will take awhile. And as was pointed out before you don't need to kill the unkillable brick, you just need to make him useless (ie Entangle, Mental Illusions, etc.)
