pruttm
I am reading through 6e1 and I came across this rule: two characters, each with Aid STR 1d6, can only add 6 points of STR to a target. (6E1 136) Is there internal logic here I am missing or is it more for game balance? Pete
ghost-angel
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic I couldn't tell you the reason... but that hasn't changed from 5E. I'm not sure I like it much personally.
Zephrosyne
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic Well, I think the limitation is a good idea. Probably is a balance thing though. I'm not sure I'm a fan of them lowering the price from 10 pts to 6 pts.
prestidigitator
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic It's been that way since at least 4E (though prior to 6E there were Adders to increase Maximum Effect without purchasing extra dice). And then sometimes, we seem to be thinking exactly alike. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary buys Lightning Reflexes usable with an Aid power, in order to render the First Aid
prestidigitator
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic Oh, the effects stack, just not the Maximum Effects. We can still get up to that maximum by you rolling a 3 and me rolling a 5. Just can't get above 6 without more dice.
ghost-angel
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic that's what I meant. Two Characters with two Aids of the same level can only get one Aids worth of Maximum Effect on a single target. Not sure I think that's entirely fair. If it now costs END, then the current Aid is the equivalent of 9 points compared to the 5e 0 END by default version.
ghost-angel
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic Aid now costs END to use.
Hugh Neilson
Re: Multiple adjustment powers against same characteristic There you go, then. In 5e, you could buy 3d6 Aid, Costs END for 20 points. In 6e, the same mechanic will cost 18 points. That doesnt seem like a big costing change overall.
