Re: Superheroic Planets

On a planet where the local bamboo-like plant-life grows into great interlaced masses, the intelligent lifeform is arboreal and nocturnal and have never invented ranged weapons or steam engines, and yet they produce the most notorious space pirates thanks to their ability to board and take over ships by teleporting into them. They recruit or kidnap more advanced aliens to fix and steer their ships.

This species possesses no sense of hearing and communicates via gestural languages. They have an extraordinary gift for learning physical motions and this gives them extraordinary handicrafting abilities, allowing them to carve, weave, sculpt and smith with the kind of precision that for most species is only achievable with precision machinery. Of course this means they never had an industrial revolution. The extremely good and fast work their craftspeople do meant the demand just wasn't there for machine-made goods. Despite this, they have discovered electricity and use it for lighting, motion pictures and telegraphy to go with their swords and riding animals, not to mention the advanced alien technology they get from the interstellar traders who flock to purchase their works. Naturally they are all remarkably good with swords and bows. It's not that they're better than the best of other species, but that so many of them are nearly that good.

On this heavy-gravity world, the natives are covered with heavy silicate scales that render them almost immune to injury, even from their own amazingly powerful blows. War is little more than a sport for them and they regularly go out and brawl on the fringes of each tribe's boundaries. They have discovered gunpowder but don't use it for weapons. Instead they build gigantic gunpowder rockets to fling themselves upward, finding the explosions and crashes to be very entertaining.

Re: Superheroic Planets

A small Synthetical planet or moon, graviting around a nearby devastated and lifeless old civilization.

This planet is in fact a living one, covered with a dark violet shade, tensed and fluid like a rubber clad.

like an enormous monocellular entity, she produces small spawn parasites that glue themselves to unattentive hosts, like symbiotes and slowly devore them..

A good place for Cosmic characters to try to find out what happened to a whole disappeared world...

Certainly even better if faceless humanoids attacks them silently (the engulfed hosts) and try to assimilate them...
