Tech
I saw Johnny Test and was thinking how he gets varying powers/abilities due to his sisters' scientific tinkering. I then started thinking 'How would you build a villain who's powers change each time, because he himself is experimenting - using himself as the test subject?' I would rather not have a Variable Power Pool suggested but if that's what it is, then so be it. So, how would you write up a villain like this? Hugh Neilson
Re: Powers change each day VPP's a good choice. Multiform to reflect his different forms adding and subtracting abilities. Outside the build approach, spending XP combined with radiation accidents also allows the villain's abilities to routinely change. Transform would be the appropriate power for the source material, where a third party adds powers but they don't last as the target heals back. I would probably go with a VPP, since an MP with powers that you can't go back to later seems a bit wasteful...
BoloOfEarth
Re: Powers change each day You could go with a large Multipower whose slots are fairly common powers (Flight, RKA, Blast, etc.) that all have Variable Advantages, Variable SFX, and perhaps even Variable Limitations. Have a Limitation on the Multipower that all slots / Advantages / SFX / Limitations can only be changed with extra time and effort, access to a lab, etc. That said, I think VPP is the much better way to go. Tech
Re: Powers change each day Thanks! I rather had the idea the VPP was the way to go but wanted to fight the urge. Again, thanks for confirming it.
