ghost-angel
Inspired by watching just one too many television shows where the plot revolves around some form of Amnesia: Physical Complication (or Limitation for those pre-6E Folks): Screen Writers Amnesia (Infrequently, Greatly Impairing) - Upon being struck in the head in some manner (usually as a result of some accident right at the start of the session) the Character immediately forgets some fact that is extremely important to the plot at hand. The more integral to the plot, or annoying the sudden loss of, the fact at hand the better. The GM may not have even told the Player they knew this fact before being smacked on the head without preamble. All other non-plot related facts are retained, regardless of their similarity or proximity to events of learning said Really Important Forward Driving Plot Point. This scenario should prompt hilarity, annoyance, and/or random side-stops on the main event - for as long as the GM sees fit! .... television writers. Who needs supervillains, just get bad writers. BobGreenwade
Re: Physical Complication - Screen Writers Amnesia The story in the second VCR Clue game had a running gag where every time Sgt. Grey was hit in the head, he developed amnesia -- and then took on the persona of whatever he heard next. (That came in rather handy when the gang needed a telephone repairman.) Why did we wait so many years to bathe in champagne? [fishes some out of the tub and drinks it] Antonio Calculon, Jr.: [parachutes through the window and lands in front of them] Father! I have discovered the shocking secret mother has kept from you for 200 years. Monique: No. *No!* Antonio Calculon, Jr.: Brace yourself for when I speak these words you may well suffer an attack of explosive amnesia!
