Guest Kolava
How would you build a power (let's just say, for example, a clunky grenade launcher) whose ranged attacks take some time to reach the target at long range? It wouldn't be a flat "delayed effect", because the delay scales with the range.
keithcurtis
Build the grenade as a character and Summon it. There are examples in Star Hero and Terran Empire. J4y
Build the grenade as a character and Summon it. That sounds like a Douglas Adams story. Actually it sounds like a few of them.
austenandrews
It is certainly logic worthy of Adams. -AA

John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon did "Dark Star" back in the '70's about a group of hippies who cruise space in the Dark Star and drop intelligent AI bombs on "unstable planets before they fall out of orbit and destroy Earth." The bombs are uniquely cheery and annoying. Then one day a bomb is accidentally deployed and refuses to go back into the bomb bay. Much hilarity ensues. Dan O'Bannon went on to later write Alien that Ridley Scott turned into a classic of Sci-Fi. He acts in this film as Sgt. Pinback - only he isn't the real Sgt. Pinback - he was just the maintenence guy who scored an 80 on the test to become a crewman (you needed an 800.) The real Sgt. Pinback committed suicide in the liquid nitro vats by diving in naked. O'Bannon's character donned his flight suit and went to his rescue but he was stopped and forced on the ship- unable to figure out the comm system in the suit! You could simply give those it is aimed at a bonus to their dive for cover - the bonus being the same as the range penalty for the firer. This bonus would only be available if the target was aware of the attack though. I'm thinking of +1/4 perhaps +1/2.
