Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

The Verdict (group)

Members: Judge, Jury and Executioner (all had NCM)

Draconian villains - every crime was punishable by death; targeted supervillains.

Judge - "I am the law." Homage to/Ripoff of Judge Dredd. Former police officer who executed a nasty criminal and then fled the force.

Jury - Homage to Silent Majority (DC Comics - I only saw him in one or two issues of Suicide Squad). Duplicated into twelve people total.

Executioner - (Leader) Death/Grim Reaper motif. Permanently Desolid. His HKA had Affects Real World.

This group was really created "back in the day" when I made some villains just for the PCs to fight, so there weren't any real backstories for the charcters (other than Judge). And the PCs only encountered them a couple or so times. But if I were to create something without deep consideration...

Adventure - A murderous villain is in downtown/ mall/ populated area and killing innocents. PCs are having a tough time. Enter the Verdict who kills the NPC villain during combat.

Adventure - A supervillain group (VIPER? DEMON?) is holding hostages demanding a ransom. PCs are with negotiators. The Verdict shows up, captures the NPC group, then executes them as the PCs enter the area.

Adventure - PCs are chasing a non-violent, supervillain thief. The Verdict shows up pronouncing a death sentence.

Adventure - A PC or NPC hero friend (or maybe a DNPC normal!) is wanted for questioning. The PCs escort said person to the police station, but the Verdict arrives, attacking first and asking questions later.

Master Plan - Kill as many supercriminals as possible? Attack Stronghold! (Executioner has teleport; can carry up to 3 others with him.)

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Well, I never ran into him (or ran him), but The Lavavitor Fog was always always a faverote concept. An openly gay mutant who is able to generate clouds of lavater colored clouds in his area. Flamboyant thieth with gay musselmen henchmen.

Adventure: The Lavavtor Fog wants to own a piece of old Hollywood...mainly the slippers from The Wizard Of Oz. Can the heros stop him before he is off the see the Wizard?

Adventure: A hero catches his fancy, so he tries to ambush and aduct him. He plans on, well, if the hero is that way, fine...thay get it on and well...if not, well, he dosen't want to rape the pore thing...he hasen't thought that far ahead in the plan.

Adventure: His openness has atracted lots of unwanted atention. Now captured, someone has placed a hit out on him. The heros are asigned to protect him. Can thay? Will thay?

Adventure: Someone rich and openly gay has hiered him as a bodyguard. Will he doublecross him? Mabie he dosen't want to doublecross him. Or he might be there to steal something he normaly will not get a chance to steal.

Master Plan: He is not a mastermind...simply a flamboyant superthieth. Most of his plots involve stealing something 'big', and hopeing to excape with it.

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Doctor Dair, a villian of my own creation, was my slight homage to Carman Sandiego (as both are 'big' thieves who will not kill). Both are mostly in it for the thrill.

Err, forgot the "adventures" section.

Adventure: Doctor Dair is one of the few villians who uses ARGENT tech who has acualy bought it with money, and not stolen it or 'forgot a payment'. Now thay want him to help shake down some supervillians who are late with a payment.

Adventure: What's the best way to get your name in the paper? Why, steal the entier office building where the paper is published from, AND the printing facilities also. Remember, Doctor Dair thinks BIG (which is why he is called Doctor Dair).

Adventure: Why steal a simple artifact from a museam when you can steal the entier museam, then decide what artifacts you want to get rid of at your leaser?

Adventure: Doctor Dair is invited to join with GRAB on a caper (as both he and the group simply do not kill). But can Doctor Dair stand not being the boss? Can he follow Black Diamond?

Masterplan: Doctor Dair steals things, and not small things. Like the headquarters of the superheros while thay are away. He never harms the objects he steals, and almost always returns them after a while.

The Fist of Doom

A humanoid from another dimension, Doom can pass as human with the right clothing. In his home dimension magic and technology are used equally, and he is trying to use this knowledge to conquer the Earth. He is much more proficient with technology than magic, and the exotic, Kirbyesque machines he makes combines both in a way that works...sometimes. He can project fire from his hands, do some basic levitation, and has a weak energy shield, all due to his magical background, but no spells to speak of. All rather standard fare - what makes him fun is his complete megalomania and belief that *this time* he'll win. He'll monologue at the drop of a hat, and reveal his grand plans 30 minutes before they are implemented. He thinks he's on the level of Dr Doom, and can never figure out why he isn't respected as one of the great supervillains of this age. It turns out his actual power level is at or slightly below that of a single hero. The supervillains he hires to guard his base are probably more dangerous in combat than he is. His plans are dangerous - if he can get them to work, but he isn't much of a problem by himself.

He should be presented as being very dangerous, and only slowly do the players figure out he is a second-rate hack. Make his first defeat seem like the players got lucky; the second defeat was from his goons running off; the third time they start to figure it out; etc. After they do figure it out, use him for comic relief.

Adventure 1: He sends some constructed minions to rob a research lab of the super secret prototype he needs to complete his satellite death ray. The heroes follow the minions back to the base. In a fit f rage, Doom blasts several minions into dust for leading the heroes to him, then uses a device to teleport away. He appears powerful, but really the constructs were created with a vulnerability to his blasts.

Adventure 2: People are turning into mindless zombies, and he'll do the same to more if the US government doesn't capitulate immediately. However, the zombies are only found in a 1-mile radius of a certain radio station, so the heroes move in. When the heroes arrive, he is in the midst of a long monologue about his impending triumph and how he has turned the state of New York into the brainless cattle they truly are. Astonished to find out his transmitter modification didn't quite work, he throws a tantrum, blames it all on his minions, and says they must redeem themselves by defeating the heroes. He scurries out the back to freedom.

Adventure 3: The heroes capture one of their reoccurring enemies trying to rob a laboratory. He admits he is working for Doom, and gives the location. He seems to have a lot less respect for Doom, and fear his power much less, than the heroes do. He "forgets" to mention several other supervillains will be at the base. The heroes win, but it's a lot harder than they expected.

Adventure 4: Doom escapes while being taken to jail. Two hours later, a weird light show is in evidence at his base. The heroes head back to investigate, and catch him powering up equipment. With no one to run interference, this time they easily defeat him, despite much bravado on his part. Even after being captured again he keeps on monologuing and talking to himself, trying to figure out where everyone else messed up his grand plan (it could never be his fault).

Adventure 5: A supervillain known to one of the heroes asks to meet on neutral ground. He's not bad, as villains go, so the meeting is made. He reveals he's been helping guard Doom's new base. You suspect he may have been behind the rash of recent robberies in the area, but have nothing to pin on him, and he says nothing. He is sick of working for Doom due to the constant belittlement, megalomania, and general nutcase personality. Also, Doom plans to destroy NYC in his next scheme to gain control of the world. The villain doesn't think he can do it, but just in case, is letting the heroes know.

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Humm...it would be nice if this project could happen. But I think it falls under "don't hold your breath".

Another sumition is Queen Nightmaria, her monster maker Monsterin, generic Brick Nightmariean, generic Claw Nightmariean, and The Court Of Hate (a supervilian group of evil magical girls featuring Lady Anger, Lady Fear, Lady Pain, and Lady Sorrow).

Adventure: Queen Nightmaria sends the Court of Hate to Earth (compleat with a Nightmariean or two) in order to 'harvest' the dark emotions such a rampage of monsters would cause. She plans to use the emotions gathered to feed upon it and grow stronger.

Adventure: A heroic magical girl from Earth has caught Queen Nightmaria's atention. She orders the Court of Hate to kidnap her so that she can be destroyed and converted into the Court of Hate upon her reserection. And if she can't be reserected, well one less agent of mystical good to worry about.

Adventure: Mystical refugies from Teroka 'land' upon Earth. Thay want to recrute the PCs as part of a force to remove Queen Nightmaria from Teroka. Can the PCs do it? Will the PCs do it?

Adventure: Finaly, Queen Nightmaria feals strong enougth to appear upon the Earth herself. Towering over eveything, she declairs the Earth hers, and starts a campain of destruction to make the lives of the earthlings miserable so she can feed. Can the heros stop her?

Masterplan: Basicly, Queen Nightmaira needs to 'feed' on dark emotions she causes to survive. He plans involve maeking the lives of all around her miserable, and of conquest to stop/prevent others from being able to reverse this.

Humm...how many charaters are we talking about for the book? And, is eveyone who is posting mind if there villians become property of Cryptic? Because if this project is done, then ownership of thoes charatersgoes to them.

Me? I realy don't mind myself if Cryptic owns Doctor Dair or Queen Nightmaira. Since I don't "own" LF and only herd of him, I have no ideal what the original creator thinks about this. (His writeup is proably easy...lots of Darkness power, prehaps a Change Enviroment, and Folowers).

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Currently a Fan Project, but if we can get organized maybe a Kickstarter. Cryptic would not even be consulted as there IP is for Champions by HERO Games. The Working Title above was for Conceptualizing the product. Lastly its is for fun. I mean what kind of gamer does not want to share there favourite story of their favourite victory over their favourite Supervillain?

Cheers

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

While I fully support this as a fun forum activity somehow I doubt it could be made into a viable book, especially the way things stand right now. Also, the fact that almost all the information contained in the book would come from this thread would sort of make it a hard sell :P

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Well, we can always have one or two or three villian charaters squirled away (each of us), to spring as a surprise to anyone who buys it. It will just be between the villian creator and whoever is heading up the project. (Well, it IS an ideal, you know).

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Time for another surgestion.

Tarturous(sp? The place in greek myth where the Titans are locked up)

A psychologist who beleves it is better to be feared than loved. Uses "ARGENT" technology to make himsself float in the air, and suround himself with a black force field, which he can shape into horad, quasi-human shapes. Likes to pretend he is a true-to-life demon, but is not.

Adventure:Tarturous targets a hero to gaslight, basicly to drive insain. He kills neabors and girlfriends (might even stuff her into the fridge), make him lose his job, ect.

Adventure: He goes on a 'rampage' to bask in the fear his actions cause.

Adventure: Tarturous learn of a artifact which could increase his powers depending on the amount of fear in the area. He plans to unearth it and clame it for his own.

Adventure: A superhero goes to his secret idenity to unload his problems and psychological baggage. Imagion what he can do if he knows a hero's secret fears.

Masterplan: Tarturous' desiear is to have eveyone obay him out of fear. He is crafty and intelagent, but relies to much on his 'I am a Demon' stick. What would be uncovered if eveyone knew he was simply a normal guy with a few expensive gadgets?

Black Gear

A cyborg mastermind who plans to cybernize evey human being on the planet. Has a huge army of cyborg henchmen to serve him.

Adventure: Black Gear sends his army out to snatch up the homeless to serve as raw material for his low lever cyber grunt Black Gear Solders. What hapens when the heros stumble onto one of his henchman's recrutment patrols?

Adventure: Getting the elecronic components is not cheep for cybernazation. So Black Gear eventuly has to stoop low as to force some of his henchmen rob banks for him.

Adventure: There are many components which are not for sale. Thay must be aquiered also.

Adventure: Imagion how well the goverment would work if key members would be aducted, cybernised, and returned as loyal slaves to the Black Gear?

Masterplan: If Black Gear could control an entier country, it might not take long to cybernise the entier population and make them his solders to attack another country for the same raw material (people).

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to steriaca again.

Mutter mutter mutters

QM

I am extremly flatered that I made you rep me twice in a row (um, acualy, try to rep me twice, but the system will not alow it). Now for some questions for the Question Man.

1) Exactly how many villians should be in this volume? (I'm not that worried about it, cause many of the Black Gear's agents can be only mentioned in the sidebar deal).

2) I can think of this, once you got permition from some game company, being made. Will it be ok if I was payed for my contrubutions with a single physical copy of the book and a created by or based on an original ideal by credit on my creations?

3) Are there any villian ideals your looking for, like someone to fill a 'hole' in the Champions Universe?

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

The Mission Statement (if there is one) is this. Fans, both GM's and PC's have had years of enjoyment playing Hero System Champions. I want to gather the most enjoyable Supervillains you have Played with Adventure Plots so everyone can enjoy them. While the published Champion Universe Supervillains are great it really is such a small pool of people to contributed to it.

Adventure Plots for said Supervillain create a theme and feel that is hard to narrow down in a character descrption and picture. However 4 or 5 Adventures can really get the creative juices flowing.

IMOHO, as for the actual Mechanics of getting it published I think I will need smarter people than me.

I think we need something like this for a supliment. Exactly because of the reasons said above, AND to give creatove people published. It has been to long since 'new blood' has been introduced into Champions.

I'm only afraid it might turn out to be the steriaca Show. I know there are other creative people out there.

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

From an old 250 point game:

Legion: This was a super with duplication powers (had hundreds of 100-150 point duplicates; about a thousand 50pt followers) and in charge of the city's DEMON branch. His secret ID was the mayor of the city.

Matriarch: Demon (succubus, I think) who was his 2nd in command, had a two powerful Mind Control powers (8d6, fully invisible; 12d6 - both only vs males). Despised being commanded by Legion but couldn't escape on her own

Speed Demon: The only 12 speed character I've created - It's purpose was to draw blood from Legion's enemies so Legion could make clones of them and then replace them (with his Duplicates). [While I did get the chance to draw blood from two team NPCs and one or two team PCs, I didn't have the opportunity to create 150 point duplicates to fight their 250+ pt selves.]

Plot: Two political opponents are having heated discussions in campaign's city on any issue, reported on by media (more as background flavor). One takes a vacation and when the two meet again, they are amicable and some legislation is passed.

Plot: PC's contact has suspicions of a "plot" from either a super group (PSI?) or foreign enemy (Eurostar? Menton? Egypt? China?) working at city level. Worried the mayor is a target. After a few meetings, the contact seems indifferent about such a "plot" and was just an unfortunate misunderstanding on the contact's part.

Plot: PC's DNPC/love interest/friend, who knows about the PC's Secret ID, receives minor injuries (cuts, scrapes, bruises) from minor fender bender or fall at work, etc. A day or two later, the NPC is completely healed and has no knowledge of PC's secret ID.

Plot: PCs begin to investigate the strange body snatching cases. Once they determine a link (all are in key positions of power for someone wanting to control the city), they are ambushed by Speed Demon, perhaps Matriarch, and dozens of skilled normals (maybe DEMON brothers and/or initiates) (PCs should lose, but you never know).

Plot: PCs somehow are invited to an event with city mayor who takes an interest in them from afar (doesn't shy away from them if they approach). Anyone who tries to read the mayor's mind (to see if he's been brainwashed, abducted, etc.) receives a damage shield EGO Attack.

Plot: PCs encounter their "evil" duplicates and some initiates & brothers, but should win (maybe 250 point duplicates versus 350 point supers)

Climatic Main Event: PCs receive help from an anti-DEMON, anti-mystic NPC who helps putting missing pieces together. Together (and more subtly), the group invades Legion's secret domain, discovers a massive orgy. (NPCs are unaware of PCs presence.) Once Legion is aware, he summons his other duplicates (teleportation), who are unprepared (having been in similar debauchery events or asleep, etc.) This could be the chance for Matriarch to break free of Legion's control. Will she flee or seek revenge?

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

Now the 411 on the agents of Black Gear.

A.X.E: A brick-type charater with a axeblade on each arm.

B.I.G.: A giant cyborg...literly. He is a size of a small buliding. The only organic components left are his brain and lungs.

C.A.T.: Exactly that, a cybernised big cat (exactly which I have yet to decide).

D.O.L.: A female cyborg who looks like a victorean porcilin doll (well, one after being modified by someone who has a fetish for metal, vinal, and plastic). She is a martial artest.

E.Y.E: Cyborg with artificial eyes and two 'viewing drones'. Has minor weapions, mostly used to 'spot' things.

G.U.N.: Has many gun-like weapons in his arms and legs, makeing him a cyborg energy blaster.

I.C.E.: A cyborg which houses a powerful temputer lowering device, which alowes him to create ice at will.

J.E.T.: Has a minor arm blaster, but his main cybernation is that he can fly.

R.A.T.: Has sharp metal teath and a tail, but that is not why he is called R.A.T. He is called that because he houses a few cybernised rats inside him...rats which can explode on his comand.

S.I.N.: Another female cyborg. Sharp claws in her fingernails, whip in each wrist. Other cybernetic abilities.

T.O.P.: His main cyberization is the ability to spin his body at rapid speeds.

W.E.B.: His mouth and wrists contains a powerful, quick drying adheasove. He is also poisonous.

Z.A.P.: Can generate, store, and unleash electrical charges without harm to self.

Greenhorn and Tinhorn.

Both brothers are master thieves, and rivals to each other. Most of the time thay are forced to work together, and thay hate it.

Greenhorn was once hiered to steal a mystical green crystal. Somehow, it lodged itself into his head. Now he can use it to fly, and create things of green crystal (shoot green crystals at oponents, encase oponents in green crystal, ect).

Tinhorn designed a powersuit which resembles a bull. Unforcently for him, he forgot to continue his payments for it. Now ARGENT is out to make him pay.

Adventure: Greenhorn and Tinhorn are both assigned to steal something...the very same something...by two difrent parties. What hapens when the heros get between them?

Adventure: Thay team up to steal something the PC's have. Can thay stop them when thay combind there abilities?

Adventure: ARGENT has put a price on Tinhorn's head, and DEMON has put a price on Greenhorn's head. Thay each go after eachother, hopeing to use the reward to pay off there debits.

Adventure: The brothers have a 'famaly reunion' when a younger sister joins them in a quest to get them to return to the famaly. What hapens? Will the sister become a supervillian?

Masterplan: Two brothers who do not like eachother, and are thieves. In spite all there efferts, thay always seem to be together...eather working together or at oposet ends.

Re: Champions Villains Volume 4: Fan Favourites

The Princess Five are a group of stuck-up young women with superpowers and a 'roylity' complex. Thay all dress like victorean dolls, and always refer to themselves as Princess (name).

Princess Pandemonia: The leader, she has a hogepoge of psychic powers like Pryokinetices and Telekineses.

Princess Illumitara: She is the brick of the group, as her skin, mussles, and hair are made up of dence crystals.

Princess Pandora: A crazy woman, she can create monsters with her own blood.

Princess Electra: The swordswoman of the group. She is also able to electracute with her sword.

Princess Notania: Able to generate darkness and shoot bolts of 'The Dark Element' to harm people.

Adventure: The Princess Five learn of a foren digataries visit, and plans to kidnap her (or him) in order to force that goverment to reconise there joint kingdome (which, of course, only exists in there shaired fantacy).

Adventure: The Princess Five invades a dance of some kind ('royal ball'), and is willing to hold the entier dancehall hostage if thay don't get what thay want.

Adventure: The Princess Five get jellous of another woman, and plan to kill her (thay beleve thay can get away with it...thay are princesses, you know).

Adventure: All the princesses fall in 'love' with the same person. Thay kidnap him (or her), then go on contests to prove thay derserve her (or him).

Masterplan: The Princess Five beleve thay are exactly what thay think thay are, warped ideals of the generic fairytail princeses. All thay have to do, acording to themselves, is to forcefuly convince the world of that fact.
